In continuing with their tradition of releasing Chinese Zodiac-based kicks, Nike has released a Nike Cortez commemorating the Year of the Tiger, following the Nike Dunk Low GS of the same motif. Inspired by the white tiger, this special edition of the Nike Cortez embodies what the tiger represents: Fearlessness, rebellion, and passion. The nylon upper features two-toned white tiger stripes, and the heel, toe, and swoosh are fashioned with pony hair to give these Year of the Tiger Nike Cortez a feral yet angelic look. On the insole is a printed date of the Chinese New Year, which falls on the fourteenth of February, and an embossed BaZi emblem with a centered Chinese character for “Tiger” on the tongue. These will hit Nike Sportswear retailers in the upcoming months so stay tuned to Sneaker News for more info. via Freshnessmag.
