The three-headed monster of HECTIC, mita sneakers and New Balance continues to bring us fresh new takes on some classic New Balance styles. This MT580 gets a crisp winter look courtesy of a dark grey and black suede upper with some tasteful splashes of white and red and a set of bright yellow laces. Like with the other recent collabos from this team, the shoe flaunts a HECTIC pennant lace lock as a stylish finishing touch. These are set to drop at mita on January 2nd, but in the meantime, you can check out some more pics after the jump.

The most recent Nike Air Max LeBron VII was all black, save a few choice metallic gold accents. With the pair pictured above, it’s remarkable how different they look from adding some white. This AML7 has a white mudguard and midsole, along with the Swoosh, which is outlined in gold to match the same LBJ23 button that appeared on the aforementioned Phantoms. The best trick with white this time out is pinstriping the Flywire panel, which makes th shoe look business-classy, in a Tron sort of way. They’re set for retail soon but have already hit VMV inc for pre-order.

In a year that saw a marked improvement in how sneakers were packaged (especially collaborations), this latest effort from adidas might be undervalued. Then again, it probably depends on who you ask about the Star Wars x adidas ZX 8000 Darth Vader Edition. True Star Wars geeks will be pumped to be add the kicks to their collection of blister-packed action figures, but we wonder if other sneakerheads will sleep on these since they already got awesome toy packaging earlier this year that was even closer to the original. Don’t make the mistake of missing out on these subtly-detailed kicks of doom. They’re available now from Italian retailer Superfly Deluxe.

Let’s take an up close look at the Air Jordan Alpha 1. One of the first things that stands out is the plush lining, which is a major upgrade over the typical Retros, which are meant for lifestyle and not so much on-court. Upgrades like that and extra breathability from the perforated side panels should help Jordan Brand ballers, who we expect to be rocking the updated classic in upcoming games.
They might notice a difference in traction, as the stars that line AJ1/Dunk outsoles (the ones you use to decide how much wear a used sneaker has really seen) are added to the ball pivot. Take a look at all these details and more after the jump, and stick with Sneaker News for updates on the Air Jordan Alpha 1 release date. via Kenlu

The latest Nike Air Royal Mid has a decidedly blue collar look. This Quickstrike pair borrows a premium look from Red Wing Boots, extending the rich mahogany down from the smooth leather to an otherwise white midsole. You gotta have the corded laces and brass eyelets if you really wanna get the workboot aesthetic, and those are a check-check. There’s also an extra pair of leather laces if you want to push them toward something dressier. Either way, these buttery soft boot-like sneakers are available at select Nike Sportswear retailers including the 21 Mercer St. flagship.

In continuing with their tradition of releasing Chinese Zodiac-based kicks, Nike has released a Nike Cortez commemorating the Year of the Tiger, following the Nike Dunk Low GS of the same motif. Inspired by the white tiger, this special edition of the Nike Cortez embodies what the tiger represents: Fearlessness, rebellion, and passion. The nylon upper features two-toned white tiger stripes, and the heel, toe, and swoosh are fashioned with pony hair to give these Year of the Tiger Nike Cortez a feral yet angelic look. On the insole is a printed date of the Chinese New Year, which falls on the fourteenth of February, and an embossed BaZi emblem with a centered Chinese character for “Tiger” on the tongue. These will hit Nike Sportswear retailers in the upcoming months so stay tuned to Sneaker News for more info. via Freshnessmag.

The Nike Zoom Spider LT+ is performance footwear designed for the serious runners, for those who can leave their baggage at home and free themselves with a jog from dusk ‘til dawn. Here’s a new colourway of the Nike Zoom Spider LT+, employing a Sunrise/Sunset motif. The purple/yellow “Sunrise” color scheme on the left foot hints at the rising sun and fading darkness, and red/yellow/violet trifecta of the right shoe emanates a sunset with precision. The colors were inspired by the San Diego horizon, known for its breathtaking views of the sunrise and sunset from (where else) Sunset Cliffs. Are you a morning jogger and enjoy the sunrise, or do you prefer the sunset and run your 5 miles at evening time? Keep reading for more pics including a pair signed by Japanese track and field star Tamesue Dai. via Harajuku.

The Air Jordan 2010 will release in February with more high performance elements than pretty much any basketball shoe ever. One problem it might have, though, is the blacktop. Rather than scuffing up your ‘window’ on the concrete courts, Jordan Brand has cooked up an outdoor edition of the AJ2010.
It’s clear from first glance at the massive perforations on its toe that the Air Jordan 2010 Outdoor is a rugged shoe that’s prepared to protect your feet from the elements. Criss-crossing AJVIII-like straps are sure to keep you secure, while the sole has been reshaped for coarsely textured surfaces and looks a little like the Zoom LeBron II’s bottom. The Nike Sportswear Greater China Media Summit was held in Hong Kong’s Cattle Depot Artist Village to present upcoming Nike Sportswear products for Spring/Summer 2010. One focal point of the presentation was Torch, Nike’s newly engineered material for optimal breathability and flexibility, and the soccer-based products expected to utilize it. Some of the upcoming footwear and apparel include the Nike LunarLite Rejuven8 Mid and the Nike N98 jacket worn by the Brazilian National Football team a decade ago. The event space was set to create a soccer-field motif, with goalposts, field markings, and grass turf. To get an inside look at the event, check out the pictures after the jump. via Freshnessmag.
