The New Year is upon us, so that means it’s time to re-stock on some fresh kicks. Releasing at the end of January is the Nike Air Force 1 07 in a simple, no-frills black-on-white colourway. The all-white Air Force 1 midsole is as distinctive as any feature on a pair of kicks, and this clean pair would be a great addition to the casual wearer or the Air Force 1 purist. However, this pair doesn’t go without a special notice; the sole is a translucent black gumsole, hence the moniker “Black Ice”. Pre-orders are available at Nike retailers online.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have their best record since moving from Seattle and it might be because of good teamwork. Superficially, they’re united, as evidenced by the show of solidarity that is wearing all the same sneakers. The one that’s sure to get the most attention is the ‘Creamsicle’ colourway of Kevin Durant’s Nike KDII. It’s immediately clear why they’re nicknamed once you get a look, but you might not have realized that the upper is entirely reflective, thanks to 3M treatment. You could argue that at this point in their careers, KD is a better player than KG, but there’s little question who’s built a more enduring legacy. Taking nothing from Durant, of course, but Garnett is still the most respected ‘Kevin’ in the Association. Winning the Larry O’Brien trophy gets you that, and a long history of dope signature sneakers doesn’t hurt.
KG paved the way for spindly ‘post’ players like Durant to float out on the perimeter, and did so in shoes like the Nike Air 3 LE. Formerly ‘Air Max Garnett III’, this wavy retro is back in a blacked-out colourway that really doesn’t use any colour, but still lets the Air 3′s signature gradient textiles shine. Grab a pair from atmos NYC.

You already know about the big plans Jordan Brand has in 2010. We’ve seen several Air Jordan VI Retros, and also an AJIX recently in a fresh new colourway. The pair picutred above is somewhere in the middle, applying an immediately recognizeable colourup to a shoe that itself, is a mashup of classic styles.
You’ll find the palette and detailing familiar, as it’s borrowed from the Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’ colourway that Mike rocked during his brief 1994-95 regular season comeback. A shoe literally 15, 20 years in the making, the Air Jordan Flight 45 High in its ‘Chicago’ garb is available now from Extra Butter.

Rashard Lewis had people wondering about PEDs in basketball with his early-season suspension, but it’s Rudy Gay who has exhibited markedly improved performance. Both of these guys can get you 20 or 30 in a hurry and both have Nike Huarache 2010 PEs. The Memphis and Orlando team colours are on point, but the most interesting feature might be the neoprene sockliner’s bubbles. They have an interesting aesthetic, and look to have a protective advantage like the various body armour players have been wearing for the past few years. Take a closer look after the jump. via NT

White on white? Check. Red on white? Check. Black on white?
While we’ve seen the first two ideas spread themselves across the Air Jordan legacy, a black on white collection has yet to be seen. This Air Jordan III Retro looks like it belongs alongside this year’s Jordan Motorsports pack (the first to be released to retail, in the six year series), but is actually from 2006. It has hand written numbering on the outer heel (count/count) and a single digit on the inner heel that might represent different componentry. Doesn’t really matter, though, since you’re not going to wear them anyway. The size 9 sample is available for your collection from dataladag on eBay.

Ah, to be an 20-year-old with a Nike SB Signature line to call your own. Well, over four years have passed since the inaugural P-Rod release, and now Paul Rodriguez has his fourth P-Rod dropping, along with accompanying Nike SB apparel. As we reported in our Nike SB Fall 2010 Preview, the P-Rod 4 now comes in a high-top version, as seen before with the Nike SB P-Rod II. The overall design of the shoe employs a more toned-down and reserved approach than the previous three P-Rod installments, which isn’t a surprise considering Rodriguez himself has aged and matured over the last few years. The basic two-tone colourways are a lot simpler, but newer, louder color-blocking will probably follow. Check out the pics for the hats, tees, and hoodies for the Nike SB P-Rod 4 Collection after the jump. Photos via Shoeniverse.

Update: This was in Singapore now Taipei, sorry for the mix up.
Last week in Taipei, adidas kicked off their new Star Wars collaboration collection in true galactic empire style, pulling out all the stops by calling in a full legion of imperial troops for the event. Armed with loaded blasters and adidas shopping bags, stormtroopers, imperial officers and even Darth Vader himself showed up to take over the streets and the adidas Originals store, creating an incredible scene to help celebrate the release of the eagerly anticipated Star Wars collection. Keep reading for more pics of the Star Wars-inspired madness, as well as a video featuring mischievous stormtroopers roaming around Taipei painting graffiti stencils all over town. Via Kenlu.
