Let’s take a look at the Black/White-Varsity Royal color way of the Nike Air Max Light. This relatively simple looking colourway and shoe holds some particular detailing; the outer mudguard has super-fine perforations, otherwise unnoticeable to the passerby, and the ankle heel sports a color scheme with varsity royal decolorizing to white. The Air Max cushion is also Varsity Blue, which is a treat for aficionados of colored Air bubbles. Cop your pair via ID4Shoes on eBay.

There was never a pine green Nike Air Foamposite, nor did any of its famous descendents don the dark green. Thanks to this series of Nike Blazer Highs (and Big Nike High) that are inspired by the series, we can now look forward to another iconic irridescent hue. Or maybe we can look at right now, since the pine green simulacra is available now at Foot Locker‘s House of Hoops specialty locations. Photos: LTD

Asics has a new pack of GT-II retro runners available just in time for the holiday season. Both of them are bright and festive in their own ways, but you wouldn’t confuse these for Christmas sneakers. Instead, we get two slimmed down versions of the GT-II that are lifestyle friendly both in fit and the potential to match a wide variety of looks. One lays black nubuck atop bright blue nylon with just a touch of pink peeking through from the sockliner, while another pair goes for a sort of aged CMYK look with a white midsole. Both are available from mita sneakers.

As a kid, it usually sucks to have your birthday near Christmas. He probably only got about half as many presents as I did with an August birthday, but King James’ might be the life worth trading for. Not the least of Bron-Bron’s perks is another new edition of the Nike Air Max LeBron VII (7) just for the winter holiday. They come in a slick red to black fade, with the ‘LBJ23′ logo featuring a green crown to complete the jolly colourblocking. Los Angeles Forum 4:11 PST
The moment of truth is here and Kobe has emerged, equipped with a fresh pair of Zoom Kobe V’s on his feet in a Black away Lakers colorway. He was then taken onstage where host, Kevin Frazier, welcomed Kobe and the crowd and immediately got down to business. After handling a few questions about the shoe, designers Eric Avar and Matt Nurse were brought out to discuss the design and technical aspects that make the Kobe V one of the most innovative and revolutionary basketball models ever created. It was quite obvious that the relationship between Kobe and the design team was quite close and that his input has been valued and vital to the end result of the shoe. Stay tuned for more info and and pics of the Zoom Kobe V on the way.

One of the hardest things to endure as a sneakerhead is the wait until a release date. We’re approximately one month away from the official release of the Futura x Nike Air Force 1 Be True Pack, and anything Futura gets his hands on is always highly anticipated and met with numerous “oohs” and “aahs“. Fortunately for you size-9ers, Sneaker News has stumbled upon a Sample pair of the Futura x Nike Be True Air Force 1 Low in the grey/white colourway. Those who aren’t a size nine have been taunted by sample after sample for years, so grab these from eBay seller croatianstyle and be the object of our envy. As they say, “if the shoe fits…”

Los Angeles Forum, 3:13 PST.
We are currently sitting inside of the Los Angeles Forum, waiting for guest of honor, Kobe Bryant, to arrive to officially introduce his new signature Nike model, the Zoom Kobe V. It seems that Kobe’s love of soccer plays a part in the design of the shoe, and as a result, the floor of the Forum has been converted into a half turf soccer field and half basketball court, which makes for quite an interesting visual as you can see. Things should be starting up any minute, so stick around for more from the Kobe V unveiling event shortly.

Back in August we gave you a look at the Nike Hyperize decades pack featuring some great retro designs that pay homage to some of Nike’s most popular creations. Here is a look at the Nike Hyperize in a White/Black/Hot Red colorway. Although from the naked eye it might seem as though the shoe features Infrared, it is actually Hot Red, the same color used on many recent Nike models like the Air Max 95’s. The side panels use Nike’s newest Flywire technology for flexibility and support. The upper is done up in a white patent leather with a nice mesh tongue, as well as a Hot Red and White midsole and outsole. These have already started popping up in Asia and we can only hope that a U.S. release is on the way. Via Footsell.

Kevin, this is Anfernee. Penny, meet KG. Kevin Garnett and Penny Hardaway’s signature sneakers anchored the Nike Basketball lineup for several years after the Jordan Brand ‘split’, and now we’re getting a better appreciation for how similar those designs really were.
Enter the Nike Air Max Wavy, which combines the lines of the Nike Air (Garnett) 3 and its offspring the Zoom FP with the wavy foam upper found on the the Penny series as typified by the recent Half Cent hybrid. It’s a cut and dry combination in black, white and blue, while a white pair with red and navy accents remind us of Penny’s Atlanta gold medal and KG’s victory at the following Olympics in Sydney. Stick with Sneaker News for updates on these and all Nike Basketball sneakers for 2010. via Kenlu
