The first ‘annual’ Air Max runner to hit with big success in what seems like forever, the Nike Air Max 2009 is readying to escape obsolescence at the turn of the calendar. Here’s the NFW version, which has seen its Flywire-equipped side panels replaced by smooth leather. These joints have an ever so slight 112 Pack look, with the neon green midsole stripe evoking DJ Clark Kent and drawing your eye to the 360 degree Air bubble. Grab a pair today from Finish Line.

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, the Air Jordan 2010 will be on the way in the near future in a variety of colorways. We’ve already given you looks at the White/Red/Black and Black/Grey/Red versions, as well as the Dwyane Wade PE edition, and now we get our first look at another upcoming colorway. This pair sports a Black patent/nubuck upper with splashes of University Blue on the midsole, branding, lining and contrast stitching. No word yet on a release for these, but it wouldn’t be surprising to seem them on the feet of the UNC Tar Heels when they take the floor come tourney time. For now though, you can grab yourself a pair early from MarqueeSole.

Team loyalties aside, Spike Lee, a big-time Knickerbocker fan, has been a major constituent of the Air Jordan line in terms of pop-culture recognition. The introduction of the Jordan Spiz’ike in 2006 was the culmination of Mike and Mars’ relationship, but in the form of a shoe. In addition, the Spiz’ike acts as a mini history lesson about Mike and Mars. This “Fresh Since 1985″ rendition employs classic Air Jordan details, like the use of true blue and fire red in color-blocking and two tones of elephant print. These are available in both mens and kids (GS) sizes at PremiumLaces.

The Nike Rivalry Pack has generated a ton of hype, and rightfully so; designs were exclusive to hip-hop’s heaviest hitters, and who better than DJ Premier, who’s hit some of the biggest hip-hop grand slams, would fit this category? We’ve only seen raw sketches of the shoe, but check out these images to see a plethora of personal DJ Premier details. Premier’s logo on the outer toe guard, his stage name branded on the rear heels, and a clear “ice” gum-sole that acts as a window to a clever graphic of 1s and 2s are some of the accessories on Premier’s contribution to the Nike Rivalry Pack. This limited pair Nike Air Force 1 are set to drop in tandem with the DJ AM Nike Dunk High on January 9th at select Nike Retailers such as the Nike House of Hoops. via Dunk.

On christmas Day, our attention was focused on the match-up between the Lakers and Cavaliers, a contest Sneaker News dubbed the “Air Max Lebron VII vs. Zoom Kobe V”. However, another marquee signature shoe of one of the league’s elite made it’s debut; the Christmas Jordan Melo M6. Team Jordan came up with two different renditions for Melo to don on the court, both with a wintry white/red/Nuggets blue colourway. The bathroom-tile patterned perforations on the innermost layer of one pair resembles snowflakes, while the solid leather on the other give the shoes an glacier-like look. Which do you prefer? via Jumpman23.

We can usually count on some special sneakers on the feet of NBA players on Christmas Day, but this year provided an extra-interesting batch of footwear. The marquee matchup of the day was LeBron James and the Cavs visiting L.A. to take on Kobe Bryant and the Lakers, and both stars were showing off some fresh new kicks. LeBron flaunted his all red Christmas Air Max LeBron VII’s, while Kobe debuted the Chaos edition of the Zoom Kobe V for the first time on the NBA court. Elsewhere around the NBA, there were some interesting new looks from Jordan Brand with Carmelo Anthony sporting a special Christmas edition of the Melo M6 and several other players debuting the Air Jordan Alpha 1. Dwyane Wade and teammate Quentin Richardson rocked the OG-inspired red/white/black colorway, while Ray Allen and Jared Jeffries were seen in some holiday-inspired versions of the shoe. Keep reading after the jump for a look at the fresh holiday footwear styles circulating around the league on Christmas Day. Photos via Yahoo.

Air Jordan Silver Anniversary releases notwithstanding, there’s never been a more appropriate metallic sneaker than the Nike Foamposite One in the new copper colourway. Penny Hardaway’s only non-”Air Penny” signature simply *needed* to be released in his namesake metallic hue, and here’s our best look at it yet. In about a dozen super closeup photos, you’ll get a good sense for how dope the Dirty Copper foam looks against a scored ankle collar and icey translucent outsole, all after the jump. via Kinstor

Earlier today, LeBron James debuted the Christmas edition of the Air Max LeBron VII as his Cavs took on Kobe and the Lakers. We’ve already shown you multiple previews, but this new set of pics gives us our first look at the cool insole graphics. They feature a photo of young Bron with a mini ball and hoop, giving this version a nice extra holiday touch. While the shoe sports a Christmas look thanks to the red and green color scheme, they don’t go too over the top with the holiday theme, so they can easily be rocked year round. If you thought they were looking good on King James’s feet today, you can get your own pair starting tomorrow, Saturday, December 26th. Via nikelebron.

Every now and then JB reveals a new model that actually stands up to the test of following the path of Air Jordan retroes. Previews of the Flight 45 have been quite promising, giving people hope that JB will actually pull through with some decent runs. With the lower cut versions first spotted, we’re starting to see the hi versions popping up for 2010 previews. Part of the Spring line are these two pairs- Bulls colors in leather, along with black cat-like suede joints. We also see that the Jordan Flight 45′s come with a plastic hang tang, similar to the nice substantial ones that have come with older Nike classic releases. Definitely a good look, these are actually already available at Extra Butter.
