“Bin 23,” does that ring a bell? What about “B in 23?” When we got a first glimpse at the upcoming brown/black/red Air Jordan II Retro, most were intrigued by its sophisticated colourway and use of croc skin. One observant commenter asked about the red circle on this pair’s outer ankle, which looks to emulate a wax stamp. We’re still not sure what it means, but along with that, you’ll get a good look at some new photos of these croc skinned AJIIs after the jump. via FC.T

Looks like an exclusive release, since it looks like the “stamp” says 13 in 23. So maybe they’ll only release 23 pairs, as some sort of online exclusive.

The Bin 23 wax stamp emulates how a premium cigars are sealed with a wax stamp and encased in a glass tube…and everybody knows Mike has an affinity for fine cigars. Only assuming the all over brown colorway would represent a fine cigar wrap. Yep, case closed! Display in a plexi case- instant classic!

I’m guessing the Bin 23 is a reference to wine or liquor production, inferring that the product is from a particular bin known for its quality.
E.g. here is the Penfolds Bin 28 Shiraz from Australia.

It’s a fairly common naming convention. Perhaps the brown leather signifies the color of wine barrels or the wooden interior of a classic wine bar. The red seal logo is similar to a wax seal that might be on the label of a bottle of old wine or wax used to seal over the cork.

Cigars is also a good theory. I’m not very familiar with quality cigars but it sounds plausible.

ya i’m still not feelin the shape on these. the toe box is too round/fat.
but the whole cigar theory makes sense. i’m gonna start calling these “Cigar IIs” until something else comes up.
