Friday night’s Knicks/Lakers match-up drew a crowd of presidential proportions as Bill Clinton took center court with the New York Knicks to announce the new NBA Haiti initiative, the league’s effort to support the people of Haiti after the tragic aftermath of the earthquake. Also in attendance were a number of players from the New York Jets, clearly taking some leisure time before their AFC Championship contest against the Indy Colts. Let’s hope that the Jets’ play is as on-point as their gear was Friday Night.

If you’re having a hard time picking out a Valentine’s Day gift for your girl, maybe it’s time to break tradition and get her a box of deadstock kicks instead of a bouquet of roses or box of drug-store chocolates. The Air Jordan 25th Anniversary colourway isn’t limited to just the Air Jordan Legacy. Here’s a look at the Air Jordan L’Style One 25th Anniversary that we previewed just over a month ago. It has a neutral grey upper with metallic silver trim on the heel and the panel going up the shoelaces and reaching the apex of the ankle. Check out the never-before-seen completely translucent “ice” sole with the visible Air Max unit, a combo deemed a certified first for any Air Jordan model. If red’s not your color, check out the lilac colourway of the Valentine’s Day Nike Aerofit High. The shoe design itself screams big 80′s hair and colorful aerobic leotards, but the shoe is primarily a Valentine’s Day treat. The lilac-white colourway isn’t the customary Valentine’s Day red, but the speckling of tiny hearts on the center-to-heel panel and the trio of bubbly hearts on the tongue tag certify these as a February 14th shoe. Nike Sportswear has a lot in store for us in 2010, and Nike will do whatever it can to integrate their latest technologiical support system into our everyday activities. The Nike WMNS Lunaracer+ is an example of a tech-ridden Nike shoe; the first Livestrong-like colourway is in black and vibrant yellow and the second is a Crimson/Julep, a color combo that could very well be tart cocktail. While Nike SB is dedicated to the sport of skateboarding, Nike 6.0 offers gear for those who enjoy all sorts of extreme sports. The Nike 6.0 Mavrk is made for BMX riders, but that doesn’t mean it’s made for that sole purpose. The casual, low-cut shoe would fit perfectly for those who prefer an odd pair of wheels under their feet. Check out the new colourway of the Nike Mavrk, set for a Spring release which features an all black upper and blue trim on the 6.0 tongue label and midsole/upper border. The greatest sports rivalries can bring people together or tear them apart; i’ll tune in whenever the Yanks play the Sox or when OSU huddles up against U of M, but i’d rather jump off a cliff than wear a Phillies hat. Sport without rivalry takes away an emotional aspect that takes the game to a level beyond cheering and booing, into the realm of hatred and irrational behavior. One of these great rivalries defined an entire era of basketball; the Los Angeles Lakers vs. the Boston Celtics. Never before or after have we seen such talent consolidated into two teams facing off against each other over and over again.

The Nike Blazer has become the prominent face of Nike Sportswear over the last year. Now that it has fully established itself as a staple of urban footwear, here comes the Nike Sweet Classic High, another Blazer-like model ready to take on 2010 by the horns. If you don’t have this shoe in your roster by now, I don’t know what else to say. The Nike Air Max 95 in the Neon Green colourway has been re-released a countless number of times to satisfy the seemingly unquenchable thirst of the sneakerhead. The design of the Nike Air Max 95 was inexplicable at the time of its first release, but now it makes complete sense; if you still find yourself lacking a pair of the AM95 Neon, 2010 is another chance for you to grab yours. via eukicks.

Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce arrived in Paris, France a few nights ago and were seen walking out of the posh restaurant, L’Avenue. While Beyonce looked stunning as usual, Mr. Carter was seen wearing a pair of his favorite Air Jordan’s, the Air Jordan III in Black and Cement.
