It’s been said before, but good puns deserve replay: Mayor is the King of Nike Air Force 1s. With over 1200 pairs in his collection, he’s the undisputed AF1 champ, and clearly a good dude. He boxed up a ton of his own kicks to send over to Help Haiti, but he’s by no means done with the sneaker game. Mayor recently sat down with Complex.com and named his Top 50 Nike Air Force 1s of all time. You’ll probably find some way to disagree, but that’s the fun of a list, innit?

Within Nike, there exists certain models that appeal only to a certain group. The Nike Footscape, for example, sees unabashed love or complete indifference, and the Nike Superfly Skimmer is no different. This newly designed, hate-it-or-love-it type shoe comes in a number of Womens colourways, sporting mesh and Nike Air Woven uppers and white, blank midsoles, somewhat of a welcome respite from the newer technology that has lately been running rampant. Sometimes, simple is better; check out the colourways after the jump. via harajuku.

LIVESTRONG and Trainers; two things Nike has down packed. Continuing its strong partnership with Lance’s organization, here’s a new Nike Air Trainer 1. Contrary to most LIVESTRONG pairs that don a predominantly black upper, these give way to more white in the aesthetics. Despite a higher contrast with a black look, the yellow Swoosh still stands out, complimented by the traditional LIVESTRONG tag on the tongue. Available now at Finishline.

Yesterday we showed a pair of women’s AF1 High that may conduce some feelings of jealously by the men who may them quite classy and fresh. Today we have another pair of AF1′s that fit that same look as the V-day pack. Counter to the High’s in black, a low cut of tonal exotic croc/dalmatian pattern in light grey pair is gonna be a real good look for the ladies. It’s designs like this that keeps the Air Force 1 alive within the sneaker community whose become jaded with the numerous releases of this silhouette. Via Dunk.com.cn

Martin Luther King Jr. is acclaimed for many of his remarkable traits. His unerring leadership stands out, as it was an integral cog of the Civil Rights movement which directly contributed to a groundbreaking change in society. Nearly half a century later, people of all races celebrate this holiday by joining hands and remembering King’s efforts and determination to change the future of the human race. Yesterday, on the NBA court, we got to see a great team leader sport his signature shoe in a new, commemorative colourway.
The gun-metal, green, and red colourway of the Zoom Kobe V was worn by Kobe Bryant and several of his Lakers teammates during the Monday contest against the Magic. The 2010 MLK Jr. colourway is a complete turn-around from last year’s Martin Luther King Kobe IV, which was comprised of LA Laker colors. There is, however, speculation that this gun-metal colourway might be the rumored Aston Martin Zoom Kobe V due to the similarities in colourways of these new Kobe Vs and the Aston Martin logo, so we’ll keep you updated about that. Check out the pics to see Kobe and company wearing the shoes in-game, and stick around for a look at some more MLK Day kicks from around the league. Images via Yahoo Sports.

The cross-training shoe is a throwback that Nike is definitely leaning on this year. The Nike Trainer 1 debuted last year and the Low version followed in 2010. The Nike Lunar Kayoss has been popping up with new colourways. Rounding out the trio of training shoes Nike Sportswear had prepped for 2010 is the Nike Air Trainer SC 2010, which could be considered the revamped Bo Jacksons. The Oakland Raiders colourway of the 2010 Air Trainer SC is now available on Finishline. Remember, there are always ways to get discounts so continue reading for a Finishline coupon code, valid for these and any other purchase.

The Converse Poorman’s Weapon is now available in two new colourways, a welcome addition to those with an affinity for Converses or vintage-styled kicks. The Poorman’s Weapon has a similar silhouette with the far more popular Converse Chuck Taylor, but these new colourways of the Poorman’s Weapon features suede uppers and a prominent Converse logo, one that is nowhere to be found on the Chuck Taylor. Both feature a rubber outsole with matching color trim. If you remember, San Francisco-based Undefeated did a collaboration with Converse and came up with the Undefeated x Converse Poorman’s Weapon. Both the black and purple colourways are available for $60 at Converse.

Finally, the last look into the Year of the Tiger collection from Converse. Seeing a few pairs of Weapon ’86, One Star and Jack Purcells, it wouldn’t be a full capsule without Converse’s staple model- the Chuck Taylor All Star. Converse provides a hefty variety for the Chuck fans- featuring a few graphic applications that all tie in the New Year theme, on either canvas or lux leather uppers. Not mentioned with the other previews of the New Year pack, but all pairs will feature specially designed packaging inspired by the Red Envelope tradition during the festivities.
One more important aspect to the pack. There will be a super exclusive pair of leather Chuck High’s with black and gold tiger stripes, red lining and gold tiger face embroidery on the tongue. Like all pairs in this capsule, this will be a China-exclusive, but this particular pair limited to only 1800 pairs- each individually numbered on the heel. These all are now available so if you have any Chinese connects, now is the time to utilize. via SF

Another installment to Converse’s Year of the Tiger Collection; now previewing a few pairs of Jack Purcells. To the naked eye, one might second guess that these would have anything to do with the Chinese New Year. But then again, Converse is wise to keep the subtly to bring together the design for such a classy figure as the Purcell. Instead, the emphasis on the Tiger is seen on the inside for the lining and the footbed. Now, back to the outside; you have a few choices. All high-quality soft leather, you can dabble for a traditional laced oxford in deep brown or black, or try your hand for a pair with velcro straps. As said before these are out only in Chinese retailers. via SF

Sneakers seem to be popping up in Asia earlier and earlier these days, relative to their stateside official releases. Case in point: this latest Nike Air Zoom Toki. We got some good looks at it last week when Korean e-tailer Kasina released them, but we’d wager most of you don’t know the conversion from dollars to won. Good news, then, to see these Tokis popping up in the likeliest of spots, Nike Sportswear in New York. If you’re in the area, 21 Mercer’s has these in-store.
