Sneaker News hit you up with a bunch of images of basketball shoes from other up-and-coming brands, one of them being Li Ning. The company was founded by Li Ning, an Olympic national hero of China, and his company of the same name will make its official American debut this coming Monday in Portland, where they have opened up their U.S. headquarters. One of Li Ning’s headlining endorsees is Baron Davis, who has picked up the “Beardman” nickname, as well as a signature shoe, the Li Ning BD Doom. The shoe will release this Monday with the first 50 BD Doom buyers also receiving a Beardman vinyl toy figurine autographed by B-Diddy himself. If you’ll be in the Portland area next week, stop by and get yours. More info after the jump.

Hmmm, is it the picture or this figure really dark. No offense to the company who made these but I see this a lot in toys. I understand it is hard to get everyones color right….but not every person of african descent is Dark brown. I’m not trying to be Jesse Jackson or anything just saying…lighten it up a lil bit. It will show more features and separate the beard from his face.
-just a suggestion

I’m really impressed with this. Li-Ning was nowhere near my radar just a month or two ago…I mean I obviously knew who they were, but didn’t care. Now, I’m starting to think there could possibly be a new powerhouse with its American home in Oregon. Not that Li-Ning is going to overtake Nike by any stretch of the imagination here in the states, but it’s clear that they ‘get’ where the sneaker game is going.
