Nike Air Royal Mid Textile Cool Grey Wolf Grey

Not too long ago we reported a few interesting colourways and textures of the Nike Air Royal Mid, like the Tonal Purple Royal Mid that appeared as if it was molded from a block of purple clay. If that didn’t really interest you, peep this new colourway of the Royal Mid in two tones of grey. The color combination seems particularly fitting for the shoe that was inspired by the Air Jordan 1 and other classic Nike Mids, and the toe box area looks to be iridescent under lightning while maintaining the concreteness of a solid dark grey color. You can grab your pair now from e-tailer CaliRoots.

Stussy x Haze x Pro Keds Royal Plus Available

By this point in the progression of streetwear and the sneaker game, camouflage is mostly a thing of the past.  Not only has the industry become more transparent thanks to exponentially growing coverage on the net, but camo also represents a ‘harder’ time that we’re taking a break from.  Leave it to OG graffiti legend Eric Haze to bring it back to the streets.

Haze got up with Stussy on three pairs of Pro-Keds Royals, no less, a shoe that until pretty recently, had been about as un-street as it gets.  Haze applied a macro camouflage here that would have been kinda boring, but his ability to address that with stars and polka dots reflects the asthetic sense that made him a legendary writer.  There’s one each in the ‘traditional’ four-colour camo, one in olive and tan, and another in black and grey, and all three just hit Caliroots.

Nike Zoom Kobe V (5) Home New Photos

Let’s take another look at the Nike Zoom Kobe V colourway that best deserves the simple nickname ‘Home’.  Teams traditionally wear white at home, but for the Lakers, it’s been gold since they moved from Minneapolis.  The Lake Show tend to wear white kicks at home to split the difference, and this cleanly styled edition is the default Staples Center sneaker.  These should hit retailers in April 2010, but Marquee Sole has a few sizes already.

Nike Air Max Hyperfly Black Blue April 2010

Here’s a new shoe from Nike Basketball that fuses their Hyper- and Zoom Hustle series together with some good old fashioned Air Max cushioning.  The Nike Air Max Hyperfly has both the Flywire side panels from the Hyperdunk et al, and the Tony Parker sig’s smooth lines.  This one has a nice team colourway, but it’s releasing just around the time when all schools have stopped playing ball.  If you need a good AAU or summer league sneaker, check Nike BB retailers like Foot Locker this April.

adidas Originals A.039 Collection Campus 80s Tan White

Even though A.039 was apparently an internal designation for a particularly pleasing shade of royal blue, adidas continues to churn out kicks completely lacking that colour.  Whatever the naming convention, this adidas Originals Campus 80s is worth a look in this range of earthy tones.  Not a whole lot more to say about this shoe, but it will speak volumes about whomever rocks a pair.  They’re available from adidas Originals retailers like Caliroots.

Vans Classics Chambray Pack March 2010

Now that streetwear’s ‘grown up’ and gone all cut-and-sew on us, it’s only a matter of time before chambray makes a big splash.  The linen-like cotton fabric (we’d forgive you for thinking it’s just an Air JordanVII Retro) is getting some shine on a new pack of Vans Classics that includes Old Skools, Eras and Sk8-His.  The chambray cloth covers the side panels, while canvas touches come in on the toes and heel areas.  Looks like each pair will drop in black or blue, so check your local Vans retailer.  via HB

Nike HTM2 Run Boot Low + High Preview

You’ve probably never asked yourself why shoes still have laces.  It’s one of those little things about life George Carlin made his living on and you probably never would have thought of it were the sneaker world’s terrific trio.  Hiroshi Fujiwara, Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker are known collectively as HTM, and with their HTM2 collection, these fellas are looking to push the shoe game in a new direction.

The Nike HTM2 Running Boots make you forget about Marty McFly’s Mags and see these as the future of running.  Assuming the fit is good, why would you pass up a super sleek, breathable, flexible yet supportive runner that fits like a sock?  And with the Free 7.0 sole, you’ll find your balance improved and feet strengthened.  It remains to be seen if this really is a watershed moment for sneaker design, but stick with Sneaker News and we’ll keep you posted.

The Nike HTM2 Run Boot is available exclusively in Japan and at 21 Mercer on Feb. 20th and March 1st.

Classics Revisited: Nike Air Zoom Generation Wear Test Sample

Though not technically a classic, we get a glimpse at what could have been a classic.

As Dr. J retired in ’84, a young rookie by the name of Michael Jordan would carry the torch and change the game of basketball forever. But everyone knew his reign couldn’t last forever, and as he faded out in 2003, the torch would be carried on by another promising up and comer- Lebron James. The talented baller from Akron, Ohio would occupy the vacant throne for the new generation; fitting for his moniker of King James. And what took Nike $90M to secure Lebron, would be the beginning of a new powerhouse signature line. As the new Air Max Lebron VII continues to cause a stir since its debut, we reflect upon where it all started- the Nike Zoom Generation. Specifically a look at a sample that only few have had the privilege to see first hand. Check out the entire feature at SneakersNews HD.

Converse Product (RED) Anthony Pappalardo Pro Model Launch

If you’ve been following up on our coverage of other brands, you’d know that Converse Skate is ollie-ing up the ladder for 2010. Over two months ago, Sneaker News presented images of Anthony Pappalardo’s lowtop pro model with Converse Skate; on Tuesday, Converse hosted a get-together at NYC’s Arturo’s pizzeria to celebrate the launch of the Converse (RED) Anthony Pappalardo Pro Model. Friends and family present at the event received a gold miniaturized rendition of the shoe in the form of a keychain. The shoe will be available at select skate-shoe retail spots like Skate Park of Tampa, Supreme, KCDC, and more. via HS.
