Nike is hands-down the leader in name association when it comes to footwear brands. 99% of people asked to pick a sneaker that didn’t say ‘Chucks’ would probably say Air Jordans or Nike Airs. Did you know that adidas has existed for over 85 years now?! They’re gaining market share thanks to purchasing Reebok and some dope new designs, but this new collection is a clear throwback.
The Adi’s Archive collection celebrates founder Adi Dassler’s legacy with four new vintage-looking lowtops. You’ll get a Wu-Tang coloured 1609er (1609 meters = 1 mile), with the iconic adidas Gazelle using a similar palette, just a darker brownish-yellow. To wrap up the pack, there are two pairs of the curiously named adidas Jeans, both of which should satisfy Philly phanatics. Each of these four pairs can be yours, but only if you hit up their exclusive retail source: Britain’s Size?

The Air Jordan 2010 was officially unveiled on Sunday night for the public to see at the 2010 NBA All-Star Game. Jordan Brand celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Air Jordan by fashioning three awesome Player Exclusives to their three All-Star Team Jordan members – Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace, and newly appointed JB poster-boy Dwyane Wade. GW3 wore a pair with an all-white upper and an East-Blue sole, while Joe Johnson wore a ‘reverse’ rendition with the East-Blue covering the shoe, but special attention was made towards Dwyane Wade’s Silver and Carolina Blue Air Jordan 2010.
Opposed to Wallace’s and JJ’s Eastern Conference inspired colourways, Wade’s Air Jordan 2010 PE stood out, with the silver upper grabbing the attention of curious and anxious Jordan fans. The night could not have gone any better for Jordan Brand, as their go-to-guy Dwyane Wade was awarded the MVP for the 2010 NBA All-Star Game. Sneaker News is well aware of the mixed reviews that the Air Jordan 2010 have been receiving, but check out these collection of images and a change of heart could be in cards. via Yahoo.

For a guy who’d jump over a pool filled with snakes just to prove how dope his new shoes are, it seems odd that Kobe Bryant skipped out on the 2010 NBA All Star game for such a relatively small injury. It’s not like he broke his finger jumping over an Aston Martin or anything like that. Mamba-less ASG aside, there are still some snakes to contend with now that the ‘Snake Pool’ Nike Hyperdunk Low is ready for release. This ankle-cut edition sports the same colourway made famous in the Kobe x Jackass commercials. We expect them stateside shortly, and they’ve already been spotted at Japanese e-tailer Ultimate Collection.

There was a Reebok Reverse Jam created to commemorate the Sneakerology 101 class at Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Mellon University, but their latest collab is possibly the most intellectually demanding concept for a sneaker, ever. In fact, yours truly has bachelor’s degrees in psychology and philosophy, and I’m flummoxed by this one.
Our British readers know that CCTV cameras watch pretty much everything you do in the UK, and the massive proliferation of internet technology has some people using the word ‘Orwellian’ far too frequently. But there is a very complex issue of human freedom here, and the Visual Countermeasures Project is reaching out to sneakerheads with this Reebok Stomper. A mere 60 pairs of the reflective 3M Scotchlite uppers will release on Feburary 25th to help bring attention to the VCMP’s cause and their film Every Step You Take. via HS

Alot has been made of Dwyane Wade’s Air Jordan 2010 All Star Game PE, and rightfully so. It very well might be the best of all of the NBA All Star 2010 Player Exclusives we’ve seen, but don’t write off the West just ‘cos they lost. Just like Carmelo Anthony, New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul was showing off his ASG PE Jordan Brand signatures last night.
The Air Jordan CP3.III is one of the most intricately designed All-Star designs, and includes a dope iterative star pattern that overshadows the typically eye-grabbing gradient. The way those inset diagonal lines create a ‘colour’ and make pentagons out of the stars will have you staring, swearing that it’s just like a soccer ball. Right intention, wrong sport; click the jump below for more photos. via SoleCollector//Chris Paul’s Twitter

It’s mid-February, the football seasons are over and even though the Olympics just started on Friday, they are the Winter Games, after all. In other words, there are very few guys thinking about football and/or track and field. But then there are the elite competitors, whose offseason training regimens they have to thank for a good portion of their success.
Guys like Adrian Peterson, Troy Polamalu and decathlete Bryan Clay, these guys Know what it takes to make an all-world athlete. Here are three new Nike Trainer SC 2010 PEs, one for each of the aforementioned genetic freaks. They’ll be maximizing their strength, speed and mobility in one of the most supportive, yet responsive and flexible cross-trainers to hit retailers. And they just did. Matter ‘o fact, they are all available from Japan’s Passover, with Troy and AP’s PEs also both hitting on NikeStore (along with LaDainian Tomlinson’s).

We’ve been seeing alot of hot 87s lately, so how about a closer look at the Spring 2010 collection of Nike Air Max 1s. Even if you’re partial to the ‘blank’ look of the Try-Ons that will hit 21 Mercer St. on Wednesday, these four pairs are sure to satisfy this spring. We’ve seen the black/grey/blue and white/grey/yellow joints, and the new white and grey pair with melon accents is sure to get at least one Jeff Staple/Pigeon comparison. Last but not least, there’s a new pair with a Halloween look and white midsole. Luckily, you won’t have to wait till October; much sooner actually, so you better keep your eyes peeled. We’ll keep you posted. via Suede&Mesh

If you think there isn’t a sufficient amount of great Nike Air Max 90 releases for 2010, get your bib on and open wide. Although these are a women’s colourway (c’mon fellas, we’ve all gone 1.5 sizes up), the deep navy blue strikes a masculine note, but the bright watermelon pink on the tongue and inner liner marks the feminine territory. But let’s face it, this colourway of the Nike Air Max 90 is definitely unisex. Another point of interest in the trademark Air Max housing; usually a contrasting color, this pair goes with unified motif with the all-white midsole. Watch for this pair to drop soon at Nike retailers. via SF.

Sunday’s 2010 NBA All Star Game was the most attended basketball game in history. There weren’t 108,000 different PEs, but we did see a ton of dope player exclusives from Nike, adidas, and of course, Jordan Brand. Here’s what the West’s leading scorer, Carmelo Anthony was wearing during the game, a Red and White Air Jordan Melo M6. A perfect match for the adidas jerseys and the Western Conference’s logo, these joints add White trim to an otherwise Maroon upper, plus a few Goldish-Brown starburst accents. These weren’t part of the All-Star buildup, so we doubt they’ll ever hit retail. Stick with Sneaker News for updates on these and all of Carmelo Anthony’s Air Jordans.

The largest crowd (108,713 to be exact) to ever watch a basketball game gathered in Dallas, Texas on Sunday night to witness the 2010 NBA All-Star Game played at the new Cowboys Stadium. Dwyane Wade who led the Miami Heat to their first ever NBA Championship a few years ago in the same city, led his Eastern Conference team to a 141-139 victory over the Western Conference team. We’ll have more on what special kicks D.Wade wore during his MVP performance that included 28 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists, and 5 steals.
Both squads were filled with players from Nike, Jordan, adidas, and even Chinese-brand Peak, although the Nike guys seemed to have outnumbered everyone else, especially with their bright colored sneakers compared to the conservative kicks that Jordan Brand and adidas put on the court.
Lebron James wore his signature Turqoise-colored All-Star Air Max Lebron VII’s enroute to scoring 25 points. Jordan Brand athletes Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace went with the new Air Jordan 2010′s that they wore at practice the day before, only their versions were Player Exclusive colorways that matched their Eastern Conference jerseys. Most of the Nike guys decided between a pair of the All-Star colored Air Max Rise’s or Hyperize’s. However Rajon Rondo, who made his first NBA All-Star apperance, wore a pair of the Nike Hypermax’s in Varsity Royal that were a part of the Tennis Ball pack. Dwight Howard wore a pair of the new adidas TS Supernatural Commander’s complete with a Superman logo embroidered on the heel while Derek Rose went for an Eastern Conference colored adidas TS Supernatural Creator.
The West Squad was led by Denver Nuggets’ Forward, Carmelo Anthony, and his Western Conference colored Melo M6′s, scoring a team-high 27 points to go along with 10 rebounds. He was even nice enough to lend a pair to his Jordan Brand teammate Chris Paul who wore an unusually large pair during their team photo shoot. Derron Williams, who looks to be one of the few people players in the league outside of Steve Nash and Kobe Bryant who have decided to play in a low cut, wore a pair of Daring Red Hyperdunk Low’s, which should have been expected since he wore a University Blue colored pair during Saturday Night’s Skills Challenge. Kevin Durant, another first time NBA All-Star, wore his signature Nike KD II’s in the Western Conference colorway of Daring Red. Take a look at all of the other player’s footwear after the jump.

Dwyane Wade was the brightest of all stars on Sunday night when he led his Eastern Conference squad to a 141-139 victory over the Western Conference squad in front of the biggest crowd to ever watch a basketball game in the new Cowboys Stadium. Wade not only took home a “W” but also an MVP trophy to go along with it. Wade scored a game-high 28 points in addition to grabbing 6 rebounds, dishing out 11 assists, and stealing the ball 5 times. Not only was Wade’s performance one of the best in recent All-Star Game’s but he also did it in a pair of exclusive Air Jordan 2010′s in White and Metallic Silver that we’re guessing will be an All-Star PE made exclusively for him. Wade’s Air Jordan 2010 came in all White with a Metallic Silver toecap and heel counter and also featured an ice clear outsole, and we can’t forget the letters “WADE” debossed into the side panel of the laces. Stay tuned to Sneaker News for more information regarding the Air Jordan 2010 and various Dwyane Wade’s exclusive colorways.

Did you happen to see the Nike Air Max LeBron VII SVSM Home PE the other day? It might be hard to keep up with with LBJ7 colourways but one that was definitely on our radar was the St. Vincent-St. Mary. Here’s a look at the ‘Away’ colourway, utilizing deep green on the upper with gold laces to certify the out-of-town look, although the patent white mudguard might throw some people off. The common denominators of the Home and Away LeBron VII are the IRISH print on the inner heel, the green Air Max unit, and the fact that both deliver without the slightest hint of disappointment. For now there is no pending release of the SVSM PEs, but check out our LeBron VII Release Date page to catch up on RDs for other colourways. via SoleCollector.
