Nike SB P Rod 2.5 Medium Grey Sport Red

Sneakerheads love the vulcanized sole for its ability to emanate a casual look with ease. Nike took this a step further and used it on some of their classic models basketball models and released the Nike Auto Force 180 and the Nike Auto Flight, which features the v-sole on its respective uppers. But the vulcanized sole is synonymous with skater-shoes, so Nike SB slapped it on a Nike SB P-Rod 2 upper and introduced the P-Rod 2.5, which we previewed not too long ago. Check out this upcoming colourway of the Nike SB P-Rod 2.5 in a grey/blue/red colourway, which looks like an LA Dodgers Away color combo. These are available  now via in-store purchase at Premier.

Nike Tennis Classic AC Grey + Brown

We can say that Nike’s vintage treatment of their retro models has seen mixed reviews. Many didn’t like the pre-yellowed midsole or dirtied laces on the upcoming Air Jordan 1 KO, but it seemed to work well with shoes like the Nike Vandal High Nylon. Here’s another oldie-but-goodie, the Nike Tennis Classic AC in two old-school colourways. Both the light grey and the brown give a Members Only vibe and the vintage look seems completed by the cured midsole and laces. Both pairs are available now via overseas purchase at atmos.

Jordan Brand 23/25 Experience Closer Look

The recent hit of snow has everyone in slow-motion, but it hasn’t stopped the vibe in Dallas as spectators and athletes alike get ready for 2010 All-Star Weekend. One attraction that has allure people to trek through the snow is the Jordan Brand 23/25 Experience. As we previously mentioned, JB has created an all out hands-on exhibition emphasizing MJ’s important to sports culture.

Just a few blocks away from the American Airlines Center, visitors can tour the makeshift museum with interactive kiosks, design their own pair of Air Jordan Alpha 1′s at the iD Studio, or laser print some personal devices from a library of Jordan Brand graphics at the iD23 Lab. You can also get a closer glimpse at the entire Silver Anniversary Collection. Or you can just schmooze around and enjoy the vibe while enjoying the musical talents of MC Lyte and Bobbito on the 1′s-and-2′s, and live performance from Bun B. No matter how involved you want to become, you end up walking away with a once and a lifetime experience and a free Jordan shirt. via NK

Nike Human Chain Commercial

Aside from top notch product, Nike, a company that needs no advertising, is known for possessing an unparalleled marketing campaign. Nike’s reach is very broad; it can make you laugh as much as it can touch your heart, or it can leave you dumbfounded and speechless. At the bottom of Nike’s intentions is the desire to inspire, and this latest Nike video advertisement, titled “Human Chain”, does just that. It urges you to push forward while looking back at your displacement from just a split-second ago, as one short action is actually a chain of events sparked by the will to progress and move forward. The star-studded video, featuring Deron Williams, Maria Sharapova, and Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, is right after the jump so check it out; by the video’s end, you’ll have nothing more to say than…”whoa”.

Nike Sportswear Air Max 1 Try On

Another installment to the Try-On series, Nike adds one of its most staple footwear- the Air Max 1.  This selection will fit the motif of the other Try-On’s, rocking a tonal light grey on soft suede and mesh.  However Nike decided to add an extra elements, in the form of speckle on underlay and heel tab and 3M reflective on the swoosh.  Interesting that Nike went this route, not only breaking the style of the capsule, but also contradicting the concept that they are supposed to resemble the original AM1′s that one would try on during a Nike iD session.  Nonetheless a very fresh pair that will be available at 21 Mercer on Wednesday, Feb 17th.

Nike Classic Cortez Premium Year of the Tiger Available on eBay

While Valentine’s Day might be more widely recognized in America, the Chinese New Year is one that holds cultural significance to Chinese populations worldwide. Nike has a long-time tradition of commemorating the annual holiday by release a number of special colourways of classic Nike kicks, like the Year of the Tiger Nike Cortez that we previewed many times before (and the neat-o Year of the Tiger box it’s contained in). Saturday is a huge day for sneaker releases, and there’s no reason why the Year of the Tiger Nike Cortez shouldn’t be near the top of your list. Via i-kix on eBay

Celebrity Feet: Jordan Brand Presents Layups for Learning in Dallas

Jordan Brand along with Team Jordan athletes, San Francisco 49ers Wide Receiver and Dallas-native Michael Crabtree and Gold Medal Paralympian April Holmes, hosted a pep rally in Dallas, Texas one day before the 2010 NBA All-Star Weekend kicks off. The pep rally was held to boost spirits and raise funds as a part of the ongoing Jordan Fundamentals Grant Program which looks to support teachers who motivate and inspire the youth of tomorrow. Also in attendance were Jordan Brand Vice President, Howard White, as well as rapper, Bun B. While the event had a great turnout and positive impact on the thousands of students in attendance, most of us at Sneaker News were more concerned with what some of the celebrities were wearing. Michael Crabtree showed up wearing a pair of the new Black “Fresh Since ’85″ Spiz’ikes while Bun B decided to break out a pair of the new Air Jordan 2010′s. Take a look at some more pictures of the event after the jump…

NBA Feet: Kobe Bryant All Star Sneaker Retrospective

Come mid-February, Kobe Bryant will have entered his twelfth NBA All-Star Game: considering Kobe’s health, training regiment, and innate ability to dominate a game, Kobe appears to have at least another five years of All-Star basketball left in him. He’s quite the anomaly; Kobe is arguably the best player in the game, and has been for a number of years, yet outside of Los Angeles, he hasn’t experienced a wide embrace. For whatever reason that may be (his supposed arrogance as a rookie, the scandal in Denver, the feud with Shaq), to some, it wasn’t very easy to necessarily like the dude.

It was only recently that Kobe started to appeal to the “haters”; he’s been slowly but surely regaining his role as an icon outside of the game of basketball. Regardless of the public’s opinion or whatever else people may perceive about him, Kobe has been hands-down the best shooting-guard in the league since MJ’s retirement in ’98. Let’s take a look at what he wore during his last eleven All-Star Game appearances, and you’ll see his recent Nike Kobe line, adidas Signatures, and a sneaker-head favorite (Hint: it’s a Jordan!).

If you happened to miss it, check out our LeBron James All-Star Sneaker Retrospective and tell us which player had the better kicks!
