NBA Feet: Complete All Star Weekend 2010 Recap

The weekend has come and gone, and we can now look back at all the anticipated events and Player Exclusives of the spectacular three-day extravaganza known as the 2010 NBA All-Star Weekend. The Rookies shocked the Sophomores, Terrell Owens caused some Chaos, the Dunk Contest left something to be desired, the 3-Point Shootout spoke The Truth, and the All-Star Game was all about the year 2010.

The sneakers on the All-Star scene were a major sub-story of the All-Star weekend; Terrell Owens and Common kicked it off by wearing the Zoom Kobe V Chaos, and the Rookies/Sophs showed off their Nike Air Max Rise PEs. On Saturday night, the sneakers outdid the dunks, as we saw Shannon Brown’s Kobe V iD and Gerald Wallace’s Air Jordan Icons PE. But Sunday night is what we all wait for, and how fitting for Dwyane Wade to take home the ASG MVP Award while debuting the Air Jordan 2010? Then again, Wade knows a little something about winning in Dallas.

We also saw some great PEs, like Durant’s Nike KD2, Carmelo’s Melo M6, the Air Max LeBron VII, and multiple colourways of the Air Jordan 2010. If you missed any of the hot sneakers in action, check through Sneaker News’ 2010 All-Star Weekend Recap and get caught up with all the great kicks of the past weekend.

Air Jordan 2010 White White Metallic Silver Anniversary Edition

This weekend marked the release of the Air Jordan 2010 in it’s first official colorway of Black, Varsity Red, and White but it seems as if a more intriguing colorway of the Air Jordan 2010 flew under our radar, until now. It seems as if a mysterious Anniversary Edition of the Air Jordan 2010 was also released this weekend at select Jordan Brand outlets including NikeTown Chicago where NikeTalke member, GootaBdaShoes, picked up a pair of these White and Metallic Silver Anniversary Edition Air Jordan 2010′s that come complete with a roll-out poster. While this pair may not look as good as the pair that Dwyane Wade had on, they both share ice clear outsoles. via NikeTalk

Nike Air Max LeBron VII Low University of Kentucky PE

The cool thing about not having attended college, is that you can bounce your allegiances between them like, say, John Calipari.  Coach Cal’s University of Kentucky Wildcats are the latest LeBron James-sponsored school to rock Nike uniforms and King James’ signature sneakers.  Here’s the newest addition to the UK arsenal, a white Nike Air Max LeBron VII (7) Low for home games at legendary Rupp Arena.  Probably the cleanest pair of AML7 Lows we’ve seen so far, these enhance a simple colourblocking scheme with speckled laces and a white contrast stitch on the royal blue patent leather Swooshes.  We’ll keep you posted on a possible retail drop.  via NLB

Air Jordan 2010 Carmelo Anthony All Star 2010 PE

The 2010 NBA All Star Weekend was held in ‘Dallas’, but the game was actually in Arlington, Texas’ Cowboy Stadium.  Then again, those of us who’ve visited or lived in DFW know that it’s basically a huge megaplex of cities that stretch for hours in all directions.  So if you were coming in East, from say, Baltimore, you’d arrive at Mesquite, TX 30 minutes before downtown Dallas.

That explains how Carmelo Anthony was able to star in last night’s All-Star Game and still have time to make it over to the new Foot Locker House of Hoops at Town East Mall.  Melo had a nice q&a session with the crowd, but it’s his game-unused Air Jordan 2010 ASG PEs that probably had most of the attention.  Imagine Dwyane Wade’s practice PE, but with red instead of navy blue.  With all these Jordan Brand player exclusives, we can’t wait to see what next year’s festivities.

adidas Adis Archive Spring 2010 Collection

Nike is hands-down the leader in name association when it comes to footwear brands.  99% of people asked to pick a sneaker that didn’t say ‘Chucks’ would probably say Air Jordans or Nike Airs.  Did you know that adidas has existed for over 85 years now?!  They’re gaining market share thanks to purchasing Reebok and some dope new designs, but this new collection is a clear throwback.

The Adi’s Archive collection celebrates founder Adi Dassler’s legacy with four new vintage-looking lowtops.  You’ll get a Wu-Tang coloured 1609er (1609 meters = 1 mile), with the iconic adidas Gazelle using a similar palette, just a darker brownish-yellow.  To wrap up the pack, there are two pairs of the curiously named adidas Jeans, both of which should satisfy Philly phanatics.  Each of these four pairs can be yours, but only if you hit up their exclusive retail source: Britain’s Size?

NBA Feet: Dwyane Wade, Joe Johnson, & Gerald Wallace Air Jordan 2010 PEs

The Air Jordan 2010 was officially unveiled on Sunday night for the public to see at the 2010 NBA All-Star Game. Jordan Brand celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Air Jordan by fashioning three awesome Player Exclusives to their three All-Star Team Jordan members – Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace, and newly appointed JB poster-boy Dwyane Wade. GW3 wore a pair with an all-white upper and an East-Blue sole, while Joe Johnson wore a ‘reverse’ rendition with the East-Blue covering the shoe, but special attention was made towards Dwyane Wade’s Silver and Carolina Blue Air Jordan 2010.
Opposed to Wallace’s and JJ’s Eastern Conference inspired colourways, Wade’s Air Jordan 2010 PE stood out, with the silver upper grabbing the attention of curious and anxious Jordan fans. The night could not have gone any better for Jordan Brand, as their go-to-guy Dwyane Wade was awarded the MVP for the 2010 NBA All-Star Game. Sneaker News is well aware of the mixed reviews that the Air Jordan 2010 have been receiving, but check out these collection of images and a change of heart could be in cards. via Yahoo.

Nike Hyperdunk Low Snake Pool Available in Asia

For a guy who’d jump over a pool filled with snakes just to prove how dope his new shoes are, it seems odd that Kobe Bryant skipped out on the 2010 NBA All Star game for such a relatively small injury.  It’s not like he broke his finger jumping over an Aston Martin or anything like that.  Mamba-less ASG aside, there are still some snakes to contend with now that the ‘Snake Pool’ Nike Hyperdunk Low is ready for release.  This ankle-cut edition sports the same colourway made famous in the Kobe x Jackass commercials.  We expect them stateside shortly, and they’ve already been spotted at Japanese e-tailer Ultimate Collection.

Hanon x Call of the Wild x 6876 VCMP Project Reebok Stomper

There was a Reebok Reverse Jam created to commemorate the Sneakerology 101 class at Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Mellon University, but their latest collab is possibly the most intellectually demanding concept for a sneaker, ever.  In fact, yours truly has bachelor’s degrees in psychology and philosophy, and I’m flummoxed by this one.

Our British readers know that CCTV cameras watch pretty much everything you do in the UK, and the massive proliferation of internet technology has some people using the word ‘Orwellian’ far too frequently.  But there is a very complex issue of human freedom here, and the Visual Countermeasures Project is reaching out to sneakerheads with this Reebok Stomper.  A mere 60 pairs of the reflective 3M Scotchlite uppers will release on Feburary 25th to help bring attention to the VCMP’s cause and their film Every Step You Take.  via HS
