Tobacco-inspired kicks typically wouldn’t be in good taste, but then again, we’ve never known MJ to disappoint in the style department. So this new Air Jordan II Retro is a shout to an unlikely hobby for one of the greatest athletes this planet has ever seen: cigar smoking. They’re a brown mix of leather and some faux-croc on the wing that might very well be a tounge-in-cheek warning against abusing the smoke. Moderation is always best, just like a touch of red on the outer ankle in the form of a ‘Bin 23′ wax stamp. I saw these in London on Monday too. Lovely quality leather inside and out, stain-proof laces, weighs a ton – they come with those smashing wooden Jordan shoe-trees. Not for me though and at 110GDP a bit pricey.
