When Sneaker News asked our readers if the Austin Jermacans Melo M6 was a better design than the Jordan Brand Melo M6, the answer was a resounding YES. The Future Sole Melo M6 was set to be worn by the Orangemen during the Big East Tournament but a first-round elimination sent had the Orange seeing red. We only got a one-game short viewing of the Future Sole Syracuse PE, and it looks like we won’t see it again any time soon, because the Orangemen will wear a JB version of the Melo M6 PE during the Big Dance. Was Jordan Brand miffed at the warm response to Jermacans’ M6? Who knows. But you tell us, which PE – Future Sole or JB – would you rather the Syracuse Orangemen wear? via Jumpman23.

Why is it that Asia (or any other country that isn’t the U.S.) always gets first dibs on the big-time releases? At Nike Harajuku in Japan, the Air Jordan 25th Anniversary is set to make a huge splash this coming Saturday, March 20th, as the Air Jordan III, IV, IX, and XI will release in tandem. However, Harajuku wasn’t the first to drop ‘em, as Mexico’s Shelter released all pairs as well last week. In the states, the Air Jordan III, IV, and IX will release next week on the 27th, while the Air Jordan XI 25th Anniversary hasn’t even sniffed a confirmed release date. For our global readers situated in Japan, head on over to Nike Harajuku and get your hands on a pair (or pairs). via Harajuku.

Jordan Brand customarily releases accompanying apparel with bigger-name retro models and colorways. Items like hoodies, shorts, and even hats were made to match the specific colorways and designs. Releasing alongside the Air Jordan 25th Anniversary releases is a collection of white-on-white t-shirts with the respective Air Jordan silhouette. White-on-white is a pure as you can get; unhindered by any superfluous color-blocking, both the Air Jordan 25th Anniversary shoes and t-shirts should shine brighter than any other color. But examine the Air Jordan XI t-shirt for a moment, and you might notice the Jumpman logo; Why it didn’t make it on the production version of the sneaker is beyond us. These shirts will be available March 20th at Nike Harajuku and alongside the upcoming Air Jordan 25th Anniversary releases. via Harajuku.

Matching your kicks with your clothing has become more than just a preference; it’s a mandate in the unwritten rulebook for sneakerheads. There are those who go astray and don’t care much for matching, but there are those who love to color-coordinate anything and everything. Vandal-A’s made it easier for the latter by producing a number of great t-shirts to match some of the biggest releases over the past year; more recently, we saw a great Eggplant Foamposite T-Shirt and another one for the Air Jordan XI Space Jam. The newest addition to Vandal-A’s closet is a t-shirt made for the Air Jordan VI Oreo, featuring America’s favorite cookie with a Jordan insignia. The Oreo VI is scheduled to release on Saturday, March 20th, so if this t-shirt is a must-have for you color-coordinators, this latest Vandal-A production is available exclusively at vandal-a.com and Packer Shoes.

The Goldenrod colorway of the Nike Dunk High was a tribute to Iowa as part of the Nike Dunk High Be True To Your School Pack, giving props to seven schools that bled their colors. The otherwise flawless colorway of yellow and black has been redone a number of times in Dunk High form, and this latest Nike WMNS Dunk High almost hits the mark. The yellow upper and bottom sole is on point, but the black mesh textile on the toe and center panel are obvious differences, as is the colored laces. These have already hit retailers in Nike Europe, so stick to Sneaker News for info regarding a stateside release.

As of late, women have been getting some really strong concepts and colorways as far as sneaker releases. Here we see Reebok trying to up the ante with an entire collection concept specifically for the ladies. Using Greek mythology as a foundation, a pack of three Reebok Freestyles taken on some famous Greek Goddesses for design foundations. First off is Medusa; one of the more recognized persons from Greek Myths. The upper takes on a stoney look, to represent the outcome of looking into her eyes. The heel ankle collars get a snakeskin treatment, which perfectly suit Medusa’s snake hair because of the shape of the padding.
Secondly you’ll see a pair of Freestyles that draw inspiration from Callisto. Turned into a bear because of a love triangle, she later killed and reborn as the constellation Ursa Major, better known as The Big Dipper. Hence the pitch black leather upper with constellation patterns.
And lastly, Athena, the daughter of Zeus. Mostly synonymous with her shield and helmet, its fitting to see the colorway use a bronzy armor look, with an actual shield graphic on the heel. Athena’s trusty owl gets some shine with feather graphics along almost the entire forefoot of the shoe. These won’t be out for a while as they are part of Reebok’s Fall/Winter collection. via Provider.

Jeremy Scott has built as much of a reputation in the sneaker world over these last few months as he has in clothing. While the fashion world is filled with flamboyant over-the-top looks that are the cloth equivalent of concept cars, J.Scott has managed to push his insane designs to huge retail success.
Even the all-black boots he has upcoming for F/W 2010 are totally unique, thanks to an ornate design embroidered on the tongue. It’s somewhere between the frills on a matador’s jacket and a Christmas ornament, and that should give you an idea of how crazy the rest of this collection is. Take a look at more teaser shots from the Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals by Originals Fall/Winter 2010 collection after the jump. via FRESHNESS

Not enough special colorways or collaborations? Well, that’s about to change; check out the upcoming Saucony Limiteditions collaborations, which features some classic Saucony models with select materials colors. Saucony aka The Brand with Three Dots will definitely make some more noise in the sneaker game, so check back with Sneaker News for more information.
