Naming the rich red suede that covers the latest Converse Skateboarding Anthony Pappalardo Pro Model something like ‘pomegranate’ would have been too frou-frou. Pom is one of the trendiest foods right now, but just like the classic styling on these CONS, they have a more traditional name: ‘Cranberry’. Also classic: bronze eyelets and an off-white accent shade called ‘Parchment’ that comes in on the sole and side panels. These are a very nice look, just be careful when you go to cop them on Thursday, April 1st (April Fool’s Day). via HS

Basketball in Sacramento hasn’t been the same since Chris Webber and Vlade Divac left the Arco Arena for good, but Tyreke Evans has Kings fans excited about what’s to come. Here’s another reason to stay strong in Sac-town, a new Nike SB Dunk High with an almost Be True look to it based on the Kings’ colorway. The black suede laid over top a purple leather base is a timeless combination and with guys no longer ‘scared’ to wear purple/pink, these should be a hit when they drop in May. via N-SB.org

You’d probably think Ben Baller’s ties would make Supra the obvious choice for a collaboration, but instead, streetwear mainstays LRG got up with skate sneaker brand DVS to create a new shoe for mutual endorsee Chico Brenes. They took the DVS Anthem and designed it to match the look and feel from LRG’s first ever full-length skate video, Give Me My Money Chico. The black suede shoe will release with a DVD copy for each pair on this Thursday, April 1st at the El Rey Theatre in Santa Monica, CA.

After he pulled out what appears to be an Air Jordan Alpha 1 x Foamposite at the ‘A Night with Jordan featuring Jason Mayden’ event in ATL, the JB designer kept the crowd clamoring for more with this crazy sample. Pictured above is an Air Jordan X upper paired with the midsole tooling from the bulky-soled AJXX. That podular sole has already been blended with elements from the AJXX3 to make the Air Jordan Icons, so another team Jordan shoe on the way wouldn’t be unprecedented. But limited? Very. Jordan Brand made 6 pairs of these for Chris Paul, 5 of which were destroyed, with the remaining pair to be auctioned off as part of a Haiti relief effort. Stick with Sneaker News for updates on these and all Air Jordan Hybrids, and be sure to check out the video after the jump. via DJ Greg Street

Futura has done more collaborative work with Nike than anyone else this year, but they’ve all been Air Force 1s. Some might see that as a bummer and wonder what else the legendary street artist could have added his signature touch to, but for anybody who ‘gets’ the Uptowns, it was an obvious choice. This latest team effort is another Futura x Nike Air Force 1 Low for the New York Yankees. It’s another curious colorway, since the Yanks wear neither black nor royal blue, but somehow this makes sense as an ‘away’ look. With MLB Opening Day 2010 on Sunday/Monday, these should be out soon; keep it glued to Sneaker News for updates. via Dunk.com.cn

Mayor is the king of Air Force 1s and his ATF crew members DJ Clark Kent and All Day are no strangers to Nike Air Force 1 Bespokes, but it was their boy DJ Greg Street who exposed the Bespoke building process via video. Greg celebrated his birthday with ATF at 21 Mercer by creating the ‘UNDESTREETED’ AF1 Bespoke, which is a clear play on the UNDFTD x Air Jordan IV from 2005. Hot shoe, even hotter video; be sure to check it out in its entirety after the jump.

Asics dropped a ‘Salmon & Butter’ Pack of GT II runners at last summer’s Bread & Butter Berlin trade show, but they were only for friends and family. Here’s an even rarer take on the fishy pink hue, this time from go-to Asics collaborator Ronnie Fieg. Fieg designed this one-off ‘Samlon Toe’ Asics Gel Lyte III, but the samples never cleared for retail, so this single pair is all that exists of what would have surely been a highly sought after team effort. The combination of nubuck, leather and pigskin is probably as soft as it looks, but the only way you’ll have a chance to inspect them in person is to Tweet this message: “Follow @RonnieFieg to win the RF x Salmon Toe Asics sample, brought to you by RonnieFieg.com”

House of Hoops is hitting us off with a rock solid Summer 2010 collection. The latest HoH-exclusive is this Nike Air Max Tempo retro in a clean varsity royal and white colorup. One of the truly iconic models from mid-’90s Nike Basketball and echoes the push to full-foot visible Air from its contemporary, the immortal Air Max 95. It’s for that reason plus the series that emerged in its wake that these are sometimes referred to as ‘Air Max Uptempo (95)’. Ask for them by name, cos the Nike Air Max Tempo will return to HoH shelves soon and Sneaker News will keep you posted on the release date. via SoleCollector

With the Nike Auto Flight moving into its second generation of colorways, we’re seeing some promising new developments. This new pair in grey and electric green is one of the best arguments for vulcanizing the soles of this classic basketball hightop, as its nearly monochromatic design and super-high cut make it fit in perfectly amongst the most fashion-forward (and expensive) sneakers we’ve seen over the last year or so. Get em before they’re gone: these just dropped at select Nike Sportswear retailers including Atlanta’s Wish.

The Dinosaur Jr. Dunk High SB was a highly sought after item in 2007 by sneaker collectors who probably could not recite a J. Mascis lyric or even point him out in a police line-up. Well hype is as hype does, and in 2010, Dinosaur Jr. comes back to Nike SB with a special colorway of the Nike SB Zoom Omar Salazar, featuring a colorway inspired by Junior’s 2009 album “Farm” that seemingly goes hand-in-hand with Salazar’s visions outer space. If the Dinosaur Jr. Omar Salazar is out of your reach, pick up a pair for under a bill from yellownxt on eBay.

In April 2005, the University of Kansas signed an eight-year contract with adidas for all its athletic equipment and apparel. Just prior, KU had been courting several possible sponsors, including Jordan Brand. Here’s a look at what could have been, had the Jayhawks stayed with Nike or switched to the JB subsidiary: an Air Jordan XIII PE. The white upper means these were intended for home games at Allen Fieldhouse, but the red/blue sole means they’re unique amongst all the AJXIIIs we’ve seen. Enjoy a huge spread of photos after the jump and pick up this insanely rare size 12.5 sample from thesoleprovider on eBay.
