When the Nintendo Wii-inspired Nike pack dropped last year, the only model sporting visible Air was the AM95; unless you want to count that unreleased pair of Terra 90’s you may have caught a glimpse of a while back. But to counter all the retro basketball models, Nike tried to turn out a Nike Air Max 1 for the same video-game pack. What seems to be the most simplistic of the roster with an all-white covering, it’s the details that really make it stand out. Offset by the signature circuit design on the mudguard, the Wii Air Max 1 also featured croc on the medial panel, snakeskin on the overlay and a woodgrain style leather for the heel. And of course the most significant element is the clear toebox, matching the Wii Air Force II. But unfortunately, these never saw the light of day; maybe to avoid ruffling any feathers for the CLOT crew for biting the clear toe concept. Nonetheless, these will never release, so they become yet another sample model to pose the ‘what if’ question, but at least you can get a good look after the jump at what could have been. Thanks to Konkrete Jungle for the pics.
