Here’s a piece of trivia that’ll impress the ladies (at the nursing home); Rene Lacoste, the homme behind the Lacoste label, invented the metal tennis racket. Yeah, that’s as useful as a solar-powered flashlight, but it shouldn’t come as a surprise because Lacoste started his career as a tennis player (a good one at that). The Lacoste Metal Racquet Pack features three Tennis-inspired models based on the metal-rimmed, leather-wrapped tennis racket that Lacoste created. The two low-tops have a familiar design while the mid-top features a strap across the in-step, much like John McEnroe’s Nike Air Trainer 1. Continue reading for a look at the collection, and expect the Lacoste Metal Racquet Pack this upcoming Fall.

Aside from retro releases like the recent and upcoming Flightposite IIs, the Nike Alpha Project would be all but forgotten were it not for these enduring runners. The Nike Presto never really left after its early 2000s debut, and we’re glad to see another run of colors for summer 2010. Several of these Prestos have been previewed here on Sneaker News, but the set is now a bit bigger, with four mens and two womens colorways. Another change might be the most impactful: these are now slated as a Foot Locker exclusive. Check out images of each color after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates. via Sneakerized

Simple two-tone colorways are all the rage right now, and here’s a perfect example of how soothing a relatively calm colorblocking pattern can be for the eyes. This new Nike Air Force 1 Low ’07 Premium comes to you in a mix of leather and woven textile that’s shared by several other AF1 drops this month. They also share that can’t miss monotonal upper plus white accents, this time opting for kelly green as the base. Make extra room in your closet next to the Wallenburg SB Dunks and grab a pair today from Titolo.

This new colorway of the Air Jordan 1 Phat in White, Medium Grey, Light Brown, and Vibrant Yellow is the latest off-colored Air Jordan 1 to arrive. Yellow has been a recurring theme with Jordans; two pairs of the Air Jordan IX were recently previewed with the bright color as a focal point. In this AJ1 Phat, yellow takes on the stitching on the midsole and the swoosh and also adds extra pop with the laces. The ankle padding also features micro-perforations for an extra touch. Not all pairs follow Air Jordan Release Dates, as these were originally meant for a May release. You can grab this colorway of the Air Jordan 1 Retro Phat early at Nikestore and are also available on eBay.

The past week of all-things-sneakers started off with an Empire State of Mind; Jay-Z was spotted at Coachella, while the annual Jordan Brand Classic went down at the Garden last Saturday. We were treated to quite a showcase of kicks, as two new colorways of the Air Jordan 2010 were revealed and a number of NY-based celebrities wore some heat. On the Nike SB side of things, SB had its first big release of the year in the Dunk High Skunks and we got our first look at the Koston Dunk High. Sneaker News also brought you an exclusive teaser of an Air Jordan IX Retro that had gone completely under the radar. And finally, we gave our loyal readers a chance to show off their heat, as the WDWYT feature of Sneaker News launched with great success. New York City never sleeps and neither does the world of kicks, so stop in and re-energize yourself with all that’s been going.

Much can be said about the gaping hole placed on the sidewall of the Air Jordan 2010; it acts as a window, both literal and figurative into the Air Jordan shoe. But only one thing can be said about the Black-University Blue colorway of the Air Jordan 2010: Clean. Patent leather on the toe and heel, translucent blue outsole, and an intricate graphic on the inner lining in a matching colorway can be found on this AJ2010. The second colorway of the Air Jordan 2010 will finally release to the public tomorrow, April 24th, and Jordan retailers, or pick up a pair from Oregon Sole on eBay.

The Nike Trainer 1 debuted in July 2009 as a contemporary homage to the sneaker that started the cross-training boom of the late 80s. It adopted a similar name, minus the “Air” and was created to be the 21st century evolution of the original Nike Air Trainer 1. This new colorway of the Trainer 1 was chosen to remind us of the roots of the original Nike Trainer and the era of its birth, utilizing a bright Safety Orange upper and a two-toned grey striped midsole to capture the look of the original vintage Nike box from that time. The Vintage Box Trainer 1 sports solid color blocking on the upper with sections of nubuck, mesh and 3M and two sets of laces to match the vintage box motif.
The insoles also received a special treatment, with JUST DO IT printed on the right and a Nike hangtag placed on the left. Due to some misleading images, a vintage box was thought to be part of the commemorative package, but unfortunately, it was not included. Continue reading for a nice gallery of images or check out the feature on Sneaker News HD. If you missed out on yours, there are a few pairs of the Vintage Box Nike Trainer 1′s available on eBay.

About a month ago we previewed a Nike KD2 in a purple and yellow Los Angeles Lakers colorway. Wouldn’t it be wild if Kevin Durant decided to wear them…now? I doubt that’ll throw off the Lakers rhythm in any sort of way considering they have a commanding two games to none lead. If you’re wondering why there would even be a Lakers colorway of a KD2, the colorway is actually from Durant’s AAU team, the PG Jaguars. Then again, anything similar to the Lakers Uni seems to sell quite well, but this would be a nice addition to any budding Nike KD collector. If you’re looking to snag a pair, pick one up from i-kix on eBay.

The Nike Delta Force High AC hits us with another colorway that stays close to the early 90s basketball roots. Most basketball shoes during the Force’s formative years had white leather uppers; there were not crazy colorways or mixes of unmatching colors. However this latest AC version features a Sport Red midsole for an added 21st Century pop. You can pick up this latest release of the autoclaved Nike Delta Force over at Finishline, and we’ve got you covered with a great coupon that’ll save you 15%. Read on!

The Nike Air Footscape and its Woven offspring are among the more popular Swoosh styles in the Land of the Rising Sun, but their popularity in Japan hasn’t been duplicated here in the states. Some consider the asymmetrical design too wild, but they haven’t seen anything. Previously expected as an Asia exclusive, this new Nike Lunar Chukka Woven features hits of every ROY G BIV color save orange (and indigo, if that’s really a separate color) for a look that’s about as outrageous as we’ve seen this year. Add on a white LunarLite sole and they have a definite Easter (basket) feel. Available here in the states about two weeks after all that candy, these will hit B&AB as a Quickstrike on this Saturday, April 24th.
