Nike Sportswear Fall/Winter 2010 Footwear Preview

Since its inception in 2008 as the reorganization of the Sport Culture Division, Nike Sportswear has steadily raised the bar for combining classic Swoosh silhouettes with wardrobe-friendly colorways and themes.  With this NSW footwear preview for Fall/Winter 2010, Jesse Leyva’s crew has pushed the envelope even further, and this entire collection is not just a solid mix; it’s *full* of heat.  Let’s start with the Nike Dunk High Boot, an inevitability in this world of hybridization, and a little bit of a surprise that it took this long.  In other boot news, there’s a ton of ACG looks, including what looks like the Air Structure (Triax), ported over to a trail runner/lightweight hiking boot.  Click the jump below for pictures of all of these, plus more, including the Freescape Foremotion and LunarLite runners.  via SM

Celebrity Feet: Common, Mario, Gentry Humphrey, & Chris Paul @ Jordan Brand Classic

A number of notable celebrities of the music, NBA, and footwear scene came out to take part in the Jordan Brand Classic festivities. Chicago-native Common, R&B singer Mario, Chris Paul of the NOLA Hornets, and head of Jordan Brand Gentry Humphrey were just some of the familiar faces at the commemorative event that went down on Saturday at MSG. To fit the classic Jordan Brand theme, Mario broke out a fresh pair of the just-released Air Jordan VI (6) Pistons while CP3 chose the Air Jordan Alpha 1 in a colorway a few shades off of University Blue. Common had on a pair of the Jordan Flight 45 High that he gracefully wore during his great half-time performance, but what really stole the shoe was Gentry Humphrey’s Air Jordan IX (9) Premio, the next release of the Jordan Brand BIN23 Collection. Continue reading for a look at the celebs from the Jordan Brand Classic and let us know which celeb had the best ‘fit.

Nike KD II Playoff Colorways

Kevin Durant: Scoring champ, NBA All-Star, frontman of a 50-win team. The ’09-’10 season was a huge success for KD aka the ‘Durantula’ as his leadership and scoring acumen were key ingredients to the OKC Thunder’s 27-win improvement and Playoff berth. Take a look at what Kevin Durant will be wearing throughout the playoffs; these two new Home & Away colorways of his signature Nike KD2 aren’t much different than what we’ve seen before, but hopefully we’ll see more colorways if the Thunder advance further into postseason play. via NikeBasketball.

NBA Feet: Opening Weekend of 2010 NBA Playoffs Recap

From the thousands of games that were played from November to April, the ones that really matter began Saturday, April 27th, as the 2010 NBA Playoffs commenced. Michael Jordan went back to his winning ways as his Charlotte Bobcats achieved a franchise-first playoff berth, while the youngest team in the league led by rising star Kevin Durant took on the defending champion L.A. Lakers. For the ‘second’ season, we saw new models, both newly released and not-yet-arrived, like the LeBron VII P.S. and the upcoming Nike Hyperfuse (worn by D-Will and Rajon Rondo). Dwyane Wade also showcased a new colorway of the Air Jordan 2010, while Melo donned his own fresh pair of the Jordan Melo M6. Continue reading for a look at all the notable kicks that were seen during the Round 1 of the Playoffs.

Nike Air Max LeBron VII (7) Low White Metallic Silver Neon

Last weekend Sneaker News gave you a first look at the Nike Air Max LeBron VII Low in a white/gold colorway. Followers of the low-cut basketball shoe brigade warmed up to the drop-top version of the LeBron VII, and this new colorway might get some oohs and aahs likewise. The neon green addition to this pair makes for a LeBron VII Dunkman Low, although there is no logo on the bottom sole. Metallic silver trim is also used on the heel, inner lining, and the Flywire panel. Check out the images of this new colorway and let us know where the Air Max LeBron VII Low ranks among LeBron Low history. via Osneaker.

Nike Zoom Generation Camouflage Sample

The only LeBron James Nikes that don’t have his name in the title, the Nike Air Zoom Generation was released in 2003 to coincide with King James’ rookie year in the NBA.  It’s for that reason that collectors simply *must* get all the AZG colorways, but the one pictured above has likely escaped your grasp.  This Zoom Generation sample might appear vaguely similar to the beloved All-Star/’Wheat’ colorway at first glance, but a closer look reveals something quite different.  The forefoot is done in a tri-toned camo print, with the rear sections covered in golden ballistic nylon.  It’s quite a rugged look and something we wouldn’t mind seeing on future LeBrons, or perhaps when the AZG is finally retroed.  In any case, enjoy some photos after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates on all LeBron James sneakers.  via Kenlu

Air Jordan 2010 New Colorways Unveiled @ Jordan Brand Classic

The Jordan Brand Classic is an exhibition game to showcase the top high-school basketball prospects from around the nation, but it was also an opportunity for Jordan Brand to show off new colorways of their 25th Air Jordan Legacy installment, the Air Jordan 2010. The East squad was outfitted with a quintessential Chi-Town Bulls colorway which featured a black and red upper with an all-white bottom sole, while the West had a grey/blue pair to match their uniforms. So far just two colorways of the Air Jordan 2010 have released – the original black/white/red colorway and the University Blue Air Jordan 2010 (releasing Saturday, April 24th), but the two showcased at the Jordan Brand Classic main event would be great additions to the AJ2010 line-up. Check out the in-game photos of the new Air Jordan 2010 colorways and the Jordan Brand Classic participants after the jump.

Nike Dunk High AC QS World Cup Collection South Africa

The Nike Sportswear Six Collection seems to be releasing in waves, and with the second group of kicks and gear starting to hit retail, let’s examine the South Africa set by Kronk.  To be frank, this is more of what we expected from Nunca’s Brazil capsule, but this Kronk x Nike Dunk High AC Quickstrike is equally satisfying in green and yellow, no matter the country of origin.  Japanese sneaker distributor atmos will start preselling on April 21 for a release one week later, so stick with Sneaker News as they should be out in the States any time now.

Missoni x Converse Chuck Taylor High

Classic paired up with classic when Italian fashion house Missoni collaborated with Converse to produce a special pair of the Converse Chuck Taylor. It features the same long-lived All-Star silhouette constructed with Missoni weaved fabric instead of being printed on canvas, adding a personalized, authentic touch. The Missoni pattern features a multi-colored layers of zig-zagging lines and was made available in two colors – one predominately brown and the other blue. Classic-on-classic will never fail, will it? Check out the images and let us know what you think. via 00o00.

Nike Zoom Kobe V POP Black Del Sol Varsity Purple | New Images

Last year’s Nike Basketball POP (Playoff Pack) was marked by its iconoclastic black-on-white design.  The LeBron VII P.S. POP follows this theme, but the main thing it has in common with the Nike Zoom Kobe V POP pictured above is the addition of a triangular pattern on the upper.  These tessellations give this new black ZK5 a distinct character, especially since this year’s Kobes have featured a wide array of textures and finishes on their overlays.  Kevin Durant and the OKC Thunder are pretty impressive in their turnaround, but the Lakers are likely to dispatch them with ease, so stick with Sneaker News for more on Kobe Bryant’s playoff shoes.
