Packs of sneakers have become popular in recent years in no small part because once you find a great colorblocking scheme, why *wouldn’t* you swap out different shades? That’s the deal with this new Nike Air Force 1 Low, which features the same mix of perforated and patent leathers as the black joints we showed you on April Fools Day. Instead of black this time, it’s a deep red whose shiny sections are supremely lustrous. The black joints had an icey/smokey translucent outsole as do these, but Team Red is so deep that it’s more of a ‘hidden’ detail. These Uptowns should hit retailers in late April/early May, but you can grab a pair early from FootSoldiers on eBay.

This year marks the 75th anniversary the Jack Purcell model being a part of Converse. While we haven’t seen much of a celebration from the brand yet, we can see they’re putting a lot of energy for a Fall collection. Expect to find some extra nice looking pairs as Converse is hitting the classic silhouette from all angles. Expect to see premium leathers, canvas, and even Woolwich Wool as seen on the black JP Hi above. No word on approximate releases, but keep in tune. via Acquire

Summertime Air Jordan releases are often white and frequently feature bright accent shades, but this pair has that warm weather feel despite being mostly black. The Air Jordan IX ‘Citrus’ was named for the select yellow/orange hits that manage, in combination with a white midsole, to make an otherwise pitch black shoe feel like you *should* rock it this summer. They’re set to hit retailers in early July, so enjoy a big bunch of new detailed images after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates. via Taobao

Josh Smith has become an integral element to the Atlanta Hawks doing big things in the NBA Playoffs, and he knows it. In fact, he has proclaimed to customize his own pair of TS Supernatural Commanders from miadidas.com for each round his team advances. Here’s a look at the first pair he made, featuring a simple white upper with red medial panel, straps and inner lining – no surprise he went this direction as it goes well with the Hawks attire. Also fitted on the shoes is the Hawks logo on the heel and ‘Our Time’ found on the middle strap, coming from his catch phrase that has been picking up since the postseason. Smith has signed this pair and has recently put it up for bidding at NBA Auctions, with all proceeds going to the Boys and Girls Club of Atlanta.

Even if you have the black and varsity red pair, even if you have the white joints, hell, even if you have the OGs, anyone who’s remotely interested in Jays has gotta be pumped for the upcoming Air Jordan VI (6) ‘Infrared’ retro release. If you grew up watching NBA on NBC Sunday afternoons, this is a shoe you saw every week during that “Spectacular move by Michael Jordan!” This pair, then, is the figurative flip of the ball from right to left, a retro drop that is totally faithful to the OG (save ‘Nike Air’, of course). Stick with Sneaker News for the Air Jordan VI ‘Infrared’ release date, and early adopters can grab a scant few samples size 9.5-10.5 from MarqueeSole.

One of your favorite Air Maxes gets one of your favorite Jordan color schemes. This Air Max 95 looks like it gets serious inspiration from the Grape Jordan V’s, with hits of teal and purple. Of course there’s slight variations, including a gradient grey side paneling which is inherent of most 95′s. Nonetheless, a dope colorway that’s set to drop at retailers this July, so take a look at some more pics after the jump and keep your eyes peeled this summer. via FootLockerUnlocked.

Nike Alpha Project footwear and gear first hit store shelves back in 1998, with the then-new premium tier designated by a new 5-dot insignia. A dozen years later, Nike Alpha is little more than a historical footnote, but the sense of unlimited possibility echoed in that same time by the dot-com bubble, that feeling is perfectly encapsulated in this shoe. The Nike Flightposite II LE is still ahead of its time in some ways, offering a sleek look into the future of footwear. This new retro release of a former Kevin Garnett signature appears with a nice mix of black on the textile sections plus a navy blue Foamposite hindfoot. Since its inception in 2008 as the reorganization of the Sport Culture Division, Nike Sportswear has steadily raised the bar for combining classic Swoosh silhouettes with wardrobe-friendly colorways and themes. With this NSW footwear preview for Fall/Winter 2010, Jesse Leyva’s crew has pushed the envelope even further, and this entire collection is not just a solid mix; it’s *full* of heat. Let’s start with the Nike Dunk High Boot, an inevitability in this world of hybridization, and a little bit of a surprise that it took this long. In other boot news, there’s a ton of ACG looks, including what looks like the Air Structure (Triax), ported over to a trail runner/lightweight hiking boot. Click the jump below for pictures of all of these, plus more, including the Freescape Foremotion and LunarLite runners. via SM
