Japanese electronic artists HIFANA made a big impact here in the states with their revolutionary Nike Music Shoe web-mercial. Bending and stepping in the Nike Free Run+ allowed the duo to mix their ‘The Big Beat’-like break into something entirely new and entertaining, but you’ve gotta wonder how they did it. It’s not like Nike Free Run+es, as comfy as they are, come out the box ‘in tune’, so a video after the jump that explains how they were able to integrate sole-borne sensors with Ableton Live to create the mix, is one of the more fascinating clips we’ve had for you here on Sneaker News. Click the link below to watch the making of ‘Nike Music Shoe’.

So you can change the Varsity Red Air Jordan VIs into Infrared with a simple $3 marker, but Spiz’ikes might not be so simple. This Air Jordan Spiz’ike features the famous hot red/pink shade on the midsole just like the AJVIs, but it’d be considerably harder to get the Infrared lace lock, dubrae, and especially the sockliner. Custom considerations aside, this is one of the hottest Spiz’ikes yet, thanks to a largely translucent outsole and select new blue hits. These are scheduled to drop on May 8th, but if you happen to be in the NYC area, get yours now from West and if not, you can grab a pair early on eBay.

Though New Balance has had a history of progressive influences for colorway designs, some inspirations seem so simple yet have yet to be utilized. For the first time in the footwear brand’s history, NB will being creating a colorway in honor of a country. Here the classic 576 model is applied with the French tricolor of royal blue, white and red on premium suedes and leathers. Just in case someone not witty enough to mistakingly interprets the color blocking for a representation of US colors, a French flag is embroidered on the heel. It might have been better off if the shoe was left sans flag to abstractly tribute le French, but we guess NB wanted to really drive the concept home. This release will be available in limited quantities at New Balance’s pop-up shop in L’Imprimerie on May 1st. via Shoes-Up

Just two games went down yesterday night, but both carried plenty of importance. Milwaukee held their own first by winning both Game 3 and 4 at home but sent a clear message by taking Game 5 in Atlanta, while Carmelo led his Nuggets to a Home win, sending the series back to Utah for Game 6. In the team effort, Melo wore the original Jordan Melo M6 in a navy blue colorway, while J.R. Smith wore the Nike LeBron VII P.S. with powder blue laces (what’s next; KD2s?). Joe Johnson wore both the Air Jordan XII and Air Jordan Icons, while Bibby wore a pair of the Jordan CP3.III. Marvin Williams also brought back the Nike Hyperdunk which was a popular shoe last season. There’s still plenty to see from the two games that went down, so check out Part 4 of the 2010 Playoffs First Round Recap. via Yahoo!.

Summer in the city can be red-hot, but that doesn’t mean fashion considerations have to go out the window. Converse Japan simply took some trends with undeniable warm connotations and applied them to some of the classics for their May 2010 drop. In the image above, from top-right clockwise, you’ve got two pairs of gingham Jack Purcell lowtops, two pairs of monochromatic Chuck Taylor All Star Highs and those same colors ported over to lowtop Chucks. Throw in a One Star with even more All-American appeal than the most recent CTS Ox we showed you, and this pack is ready for school to let out. Take a look at more shots after the jump. via HS

At this junction, Carmelo Anthony could not care less about what kicks are on his feet. He’s focused on surviving the first round match-up against the Utah Jazz, and his 26-and-11 performance yesterday night was enough to keep the Nuggets alive for another day. Down 3-2 with Game 6 heading into Utah may not be very good for Melo’s future prospects, but for Austin Jermacans, the high-schooler behind the design of the Future Sole Melo M6, his future is looking at bright as day. What probably started off as a rough sketch in the back of a tattered notebook resulted in six Player Exclusive colorways of his Melo M6 design that Carmelo himself has been wearing throughout the Playoffs. Check out these great PEs and let us know which colorway is tops. The Future Sole Melo M6 is also set to drop in limited numbers in the coming months, so stick with Sneaker News for more info regarding all Jordan Brand releases.

‘Welcome home, Dwyane Wade’ is a greeting that could be said at a few cities this upcoming offseason. D-Wade and his Miami Heat saw an early exit from the 2010 Playoffs at the hands of the Boston Celtics, but the stress might remain for the Marquette-to-Miami superstar. Welcome home to Chicago? But Wade has declared during many Miami home games “This is my house!” while pointing to the American Airlines Arena hardwood floor. He sure has a tough choice to make, but for Wade and Jordan fans, picking up a pair of the Air Jordan 2010 W3LCOME HOME should be a no-brainer. These are set to drop on Saturday, May 8th at Jordan Brand retailers such as Foot Locker and the House of Hoops. Don’t forget to check out our Air Jordan Release Dates page to stay on top of all the drop-dates.

Breaking in a high-quality baseball glove can take months, years even to perfect. You’ll never have to tie a ball into, sleep on top of or soak these new Nike Trainer SC 2010s, but ‘Baseball Glove’ is a perfect moniker. In that sense, it’s a little closer to kangaroo leather than traditional cowhide, but these are done in a premium brown leather that should age extremely well (think Gibson Guitar Case SB Dunk Lows). All the details are here too, from the black trim to metallic gold stitching and Flywire and the ‘Bo Knows’ laser etching. One of the best shoes to celebrate the modern two-sport pioneer, these joints are available at Extra Butter.

New York’s Sneaker Con has grown into a bi-annual event, but before the second one of 2010 on Saturday, May 22nd, there’ll be another hot meetup for sneakerheads. About 900 miles south, DJ Greg Street will present Sneaker Friends 2010 at Compound in ATL. SF2010 should be a great time, hosted by ATF crew members DJ Clark Kent, Mayor and AllDay and will feature appearances from notable names like Marcus Troy and Franalations. Check out the full-size flier after the jump and be sure to head out to Sneaker Friends 2010 if you can get down to the dirty this weekend.

How do you go from a commanding 2-0 lead and a reputation for one of the best home court advantages, to down 3-2 with a decent chance of getting eliminated in a place where “There ain’t nothing to do”? Ask Mike Bibby, point guard of the Atlanta Hawks, who have managed that feat. And it’s certainly not cos of what’s on Bibby’s feet. The Air Jordan One6One7 Mike Bibby PEs pictured above offer another look at AJs XVI and XVII combined. Henry’s son was the first Jordan Brand guy in the league to rock this model and his tonal red and navy blue pairs are downright sick with their suede uppers. A-town b-ball fans gotta hope Bibby, JJ and the rest come up with a performance tomorrow night that matches these beauties, and in the meantime you can see some more shots after the jump.
