This past ’09-’10 NBA season was one Kevin Durant will remember in his future scrap-booking years; led the Thunder to a 50-win season and a Playoff berth, won his first NBA scoring title, came second in League MVP voting, and was selected on the All-NBA First Team alongside LeBron, Kobe, Dwyane Wade, and Dwight Howard. It was also a big year for his signature line with Nike, as it was a popular choice for basketball players around the league and on the street; simple colorways and an $85 pricetag made these a no-brainer. The success of the Nike KD II only has wondering what Nike and Durant have in store for us.
Check out this first look that, according to NT, is Kevin Durant’s third shoe, the Nike KD III. The KD III sports the KD logo on the tongue and a low-mid cut with the same Zoom cushioning, but it looks like Flywire has been added to the forefoot of the shoe. Right now we can expect at least seven colorways both Thunder-inspired and Team oriented, but whether or not this is in fact the Nike KD III is subject to change. Needless to say, the shoe is very simple and unremarkable, so will Nike decide to vamp it up a bit, or will they stick to the simple-and-affordable formula that worked so well for the Nike KD II? Continue reading for a look at the colorways and let us know what you think of the design. Check back with Sneaker News and we’ll keep you on top of all KD updates.

the kd2s were so much better. these need a strap or something interesting
May 9th, 2010 at 12:38 am
Seriously, is this really the KD3's?! They look more like the next Kobe than KD's because of the lowtop design…
May 9th, 2010 at 1:13 am
if these perform anything like the KD2's they're these are a done deal
May 9th, 2010 at 1:36 am

May 9th, 2010 at 1:37 am

They are ok but nothing to get excited about. They look like a Steve Nash or Kobe shoe.

KD is one of the best players in the NBA. I know he said he wanted affordable shoes for the kids but he didn't say ugly. He deserves better.
May 9th, 2010 at 4:38 pm
Wow.
May 9th, 2010 at 6:37 pm
this shoe has potential but lacks color position and needs a little more work
May 9th, 2010 at 7:09 pm
They’re not half bad… Looks comfty enough. I can’t say if they’re nice or ugly but basing it from the Melo 7 they previewed & the LBJ 8, I still say let’s give it a chance. Right now Kobe’s the barometer for almost all basketball shoe. Let’s wait & see for now. & damn!!! The flywire made it a tit tad expensive?! Damn flywire!!!

The 2's had me excited about his line going in the right direction and then I see these and say WTH?
May 10th, 2010 at 12:27 pm
They look like a generic pair of nikes that you could buy at Kohls or famous footwear… soo dumb
May 11th, 2010 at 1:59 am
If they do some of the wild colors/materials like the Montrose 1s or the Creams, these could be cool. Otherwise, the blues are OK and the rest are pretty eehhhh….
May 11th, 2010 at 7:27 pm
THESE ARE FIRE!!! CANT WAIT!

Geez, not everyone can have shoes designed for them that are going to look hot all the time. Remember, KD said he wanted shoes that are affordable for people. Would everyone be hating on the Kobes if they were $80-85? And remember, KD did have input when they made the shoe. So if he liked what he saw, Nike made it. I'm glad he's grounded like that and I can afford to buy a two pairs of his kicks versus 1 pair of Kobes, Lebrons or crappy Jordan retros. Keep it up KD.
