LeBron has chosen special colorways to give props to his former teams and to others he feels worthy of receiving the necessary props – his alma mater of SVSM, other great b-ball schools like OSU, Christ The King, etc. – but his first rec-league team Summit Lake Hornets has also been featured on some of his shoes as well. The Nike LeBron VII P.S. Summit Lake Hornets colorway recently released, but the final version has a noticeable difference from this sample pair; the retail version showcases an all-purple midsole, while the sample features a neat Avatar-esque purple-to-blue gradient treatment. The midsole also goes from translucent blue to a classic ‘ice’ while the swoosh inverts colors as well. So which version do you prefer? Continue reading to compare. via SoleCollector.

The samples are better indeed. The blue bottoms make them look a little childish and the white check pops.

the two comments above me obviously came from persons who have no idea about lebron before the nba. summit lake hornets was lebron's first basketball team in middle school back in 1992, which was way before the charlotte hornets drafted kobe in 1996. c'mon man.
