Much has been made of this summer’s ‘Infrared’ Nike Air Max 90 Retro release, and rightfully so. Here’s another colorway that rose to prominence in the early 90s thanks to the Swoosh being in the right place at the right time. This new AM90 has shades of Barcelona in its navy blue, white and red palette, but instead of the traditional ‘Olympic’ or ‘USAB’ colorway, these swap out their gold sections for silver for the winning look. Pre-order yours today, with an expected ship date of June 20th from the UK’s EndClothing.

Kobe Bryant has stuck with the POP edition during the entire NBA postseason, but there are still more Nike Zoom Kobe Vs set to hit retail. The pair pictured above in white, black and the Del Sol shade of yellow, is already hitting retailers, but whether that accompanies championship number five for Kobe and his Lakers remains to be seen. On the other hand, we’re sure these will sell quickly, so do yourself a favor and grab them now from shaolin8 on eBay.

We examine plenty of samples here on Sneaker News, but here’s one about as far out of left field as you can get. This Nike SB Dunk Low sample from 2003 was designed by Japanese illustrator Katsuya Terada for the 2003/04 Nike White Dunk Expo, but as you can see, they’re far from all-white. With their patent leather uppers and orange embroidery details, these are something of a retrospective foreshadow to the ‘Hawaii’ SB Dunk Lows from ’06, but come off more like the ‘Un-’ version. Hypothetical history aside, only 12 pairs were ever made and one of them has just popped up in US mens size 11.5 from croatianstyle on eBay.

As our readers may have expected, we bring you an extensive recap of this Spring’s Sneaker Con this past weekend. If you couldn’t make it to the SoHo area, you’ve probably already gotten wind that you missed out on the massive turnout for the sneaker and apparel buy/sell/trade show. Past attendees warned peers of arriving early to avoid the line; but it was inevitable as the line to enter the venue lasted almost the entire duration of the day, wrapping around the corner of Sullivan & Houston.
Once inside, the cumulative 1,100 in spectators lapped around the giant space to view the goods of 40 vendors. Everything from vintage heat to more recent exclusives, tons of sneakers to feast your eyes upon. A few tables even specializing in womens and kids feet to help round about the selection. Apparel also available, indie labels sold their goods while others provided vintage Nike and Jordan clothing. As if that wasn’t enough, almost all of the visitors came prepared with pairs in their arms and around their necks, trying to make some deals of their own. The smart ones brought plenty of cash because there certainly was a whole lot to cop.
New this time around was a prodigious KAWS/Original Fake collection on display courtesy of NYC’s own Toy Tokyo. Having huge success in recent times, it was a rare chance for people to see some of these rare items in person; some of which older pieces produced long before KAWS even became a household name in street culture. Another must-see at Sneaker Con was adidas’ large booth showcasing a number of popular models- both old and new. Rotating in their glass displays ranged from never before seen adidas Fortitudes to upcoming Jeremy Scott JS Wings that are expected for the holiday season. Of course, another component that allured visitors to the adidas table was the chance to obtain vouchers for the limited special edition Sneaker Con tshirt.
Be sure to take a full look at the photo recap after the jump- many of you may catch a flick of yourself or someone you know. And be sure to stay tuned for another post coming later in the day highlighting the feet of those who attended. Don’t catch wreck if you missed out, stick with Sneakernews for news on a speculated third 2010 installment of Sneaker Con NYC later this year.

When the Vans Vault lineup launched about a year and a half ago, Off the Wall brought together their classic models and built them with premium materials and impressive colorways. Somewhere between these releases and their contemporary designs is the new OTW Collection, “a new offering of sophisticated footwear that blends progressive street fashion and athletic styling with design cues from [Vans'] rich heritage in action sports.” We’ve seen several of these models, including the Tustin and Frazier lowtops and the Bedford and Alomar highs. New to the group are the Larkin lows and Bigelow midtops, which meld the Mountain Edition’s midfoot strap with the Forty-Four’s silhouette. Have a look at the entire summer collection after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates on the Vans OTW Collection release dates. via SF

The initial response to the Air Jordan Flight SC-1 was, well, not very good. Many praised the classic white/red/black colorway but the design, inspired by the Air Jordan II, Air Jordan III, Nike Air Flight ’89, and other notable models, didn’t sit well with our readers. The extra-high ankle and pronounced tongue made it all too similar to the Air Jordan Flight 45 High. Check out this new “Oreo” colorway of the Flight SC-1, featuring a perfect mix of cookies and cream much like the Air Jordan VI that dropped not long ago. If you’re a sucker for speckled midsoles, this colorway might be up your alley. Continue reading for a detailed view and let us know what you think. via Kinstor.

Back in April at the beginning of the 2010 Major League Baseball season, we got a look at two Air Jordan 1 PEs for Jordan Brand’s two New York Yankees. C.C. Sabathia’s AJ1 Alpha Outdoor released that same month, but what about Derek Jeter’s Air Jordan 1 Phat Low PE? These off-white canvas AJ1 Phats come together with navy blue contrast stitching and feature metallic laces that remind you the Pinstripers are the gold standard of MLB. In advance of a long, baseball-filled summer, these joints will hit the Foot Locker House of Hoops specialty locations this Saturday, May 29th.

The 2010 NBA Playoffs capped off an already eventful week, as the Celtics, Magic, Suns, and defending Champ Lakers took a step closer to the NBA Finals mainstage. On Saturday, the Boston Celtics strengthened its legacy by taking a commanding three-games-to-none lead over the hapless Orlando Smoke n Mirrors Magic, while the Phoenix Suns shined brighter in Phoenix than it did in Los Angeles. The NBA stars stuck with the kicks they’ve been comfortable with yet again; Kobe wore the Kobe V POP while his teammates wore some other colorways, and Amar’e Stoudemire dropped a forty-deuce with the Nike KD2. The Conference Finals should wrap up within this week so check out the gallery from the Playoffs games over the weekend. via Yahoo!.

Over the weekend Ludacris dedicated a day out of his busy schedule to volunteer at the Venetian Hills Elementary School as a part of a larger effort within the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s “iParticipate” and United Healthcare’s “Do Good. Live Well” campaigns. Luda along with more than 100 other volunteers helped build a new playground at the school in an attempt to “inspire youth through education and memorable experiences to live their dreams” one of the main goals of his Ludacris Foundation. Luda rocked a pair of Air Jordan 1 “Olympic” Retro’s that were released back in 2008, one of the elementary school kids showed off his kick game as well with a pair of the recently released White and Fire Red Spiz’ikes.
