It’s been over a year since we’ve seen another Nike Air Windrunner TR 2, so this pair is long overdue. Luckily, the TR2 is back with heat, and literally too, since black kicks in the summer are quite the sun-absorbers. You might wanna rock these at night, but they look good any time of day thanks to select neon green and red accents, plus a nice mix of materials on the upper. These should hit stateside Nike Sportswear retailers soon, or you can grab em a lil early from Swiss sneaker specialists Titolo.

Drake performed over the weekend at the UCSD 2010 Sungod Festival in San Diego. The Young Money/Cash Money rapper performed a number of songs off of his mixtape, So Far Gone, in addition to previewing a few from his upcoming album, Thank Me Later. More importantly, Drizzy was seen rocking a pair of the exclusive Air Jordan VIII Retro’s in Black and Green that are the Ray Allen PE’s. It seems that the Air Jordan VIII is one of Drake’s favorite Air Jordan sneakers having rocked the Black and Chrome colorway a few months ago during another performance in Miami.

Sneaker News is live on the scene out in the Bay Area for Nike’s Athletic Training 2010 Media Showcase, and day 2 of the trip started strong with a special preview of the brand’s performance training footwear for 2010. A quick bus ride over the Bay Bridge into Oakland brought us to the doors of well-known recording studio, The Zoo, chosen to house the Nike Training footwear display. With all the creative forces that have passed through the building over the years, it was fitting that the spot was chosen to show off some of Nike’s most ambitious performance designs to date. Nike designer Jeff Rasmussen led the group through several rooms, each set up with design sketches, mock-up samples, dissected sneaker components and of course, all the latest in Nike Training kicks.
The driving concepts behind the collection are “Strong” and “Speed,” with the various models engineered to fall into one or both categories. The extensive research and development put into making this current line the very best in performance trainers became quite obvious as the tech details and design innovations were explained, but as you’ll see from the photos, there are plenty of tasty forms to accompany all that function. Keep reading for a look at some new additions to the Nike arsenal like the Huarache TR and Trainer 1.2, and stay tuned this week for a thorough look at the entire collection and showcase display from this morning’s trip to The Zoo.

Just over a week ago Sneaker News showed you a side-by-side comparison of the Varsity Red and Infrared colorways of the Air Jordan VI. Now that any doubt was erased by that video, here are some new images of the Air Jordan VI Infrared Pack with a focus on the packaging. “Infrared Pack” is more than just a nickname, as it is printed on the sizetag of the double-stacked slide-out box seen in previous Air Jordan packages. Each pair is also placed in a plastic covering with an Air Jordan emblem. This groundbreaking release is set for a limited June 19th drop with rumors of an Asia-only exclusivity – some Asian sneaker spots have already received them and plan on selling them via a lottery raffle. Stay in touch with Sneaker News and we’ll update you with new info or with any other Air Jordan Release Dates. via Kenlu.

Judging by the comments here on Sneaker News, reception for the new Jordan Rare Air hybrid has been split right down the middle. Some aren’t feelin’ the ‘Spizike Jr.’, while others were quick to defend this new mashup as the satisfying logical progression from Spizikes, Six Rings and the like. If a picture’s worth a thousand words, here’s about 50 double-spaced pages worth of rebuttal from Jordan Brand in the form of these new images of the white Jordan Rare Air. It successfully combines the AJIII’s signature elephant print with its successor’s speckled midsoles, plus plenty of other elements from Jays II-VI, all in a colorway that’s super versatile. Click the jump below and stay tuned for updates on the release of these and all Jordan Rare Air colorways. via Taobao

2010 is clearly the year of the Foamposite; three Air Foamposite One colorways dropped in just half a year and the second half isn’t slowing down, as the Nike Air Foamposite Pro in the Pearl White colorway is set to drop in the Fall 2010 season. The shoe dropped last year in limited numbers at House of Hoops and Nike is following the Eggplant blueprint by releasing the same shoe at a wider release roughly one year later, but you can bet your finest pearls that nobody is complaining one bit, because it’s tough to find a deadstock original or 2002 Retro and the prices from last year’s release are getting higher and higher by the day. Check out these new images of the Pearl Foamposite One after the jump and let us know where this colorway ranks among the 2010 Foamposite releases. via kinstor.

The Nike Air Carnivore retroed this year in the OG teal colorway and coming soon to U.S. retailers is also the black/varsity red/white colorway made popular by Jerry Rice in the 90′s. The OG teal colorway was highly anticipated by older Nike heads but sales are somewhat dormant as these still remain on shelves, so how will this 49ers-inspired do? This colorway of the Air Carnivore was slated for an April 16th release but obviously that date has been pushed back, so expect these at your local spot soon. via mita.

Sneakerheads might have the keenest of senses; blindfold a legit shoe freak and he can differentiate shoe A from shoe B by touch and feel, or ask him to identify a shoe from a 20-year-old photo and he’ll tell you the model in addition to the colorway and release date. Some, however, can develop a sixth sense about shoes, an inexplicable connection with the vulcanized, being in sync with leather uppers, enjoying a harmony with cushioning units. Check out this Foot Locker advertisement in which a sneakerhead displays his own sixth sense – the ability to identify a shoe by the way the bottom sole contacts his own bottom soul. Do you have a sneakerhead sixth sense? Have you woken up in the middle of a cold night and murmered to yourself “I SEE DEAD…STOCK SNEAKERS”? Check out the video after the jump and let us know if you have sneaker ESP.

While most of the nylon Vandals that have come out of recent have been quite exuberant in colorway, this pair takes a more neutral approach. The deep grey upper with hits of off-white and dark green make it a practical everyday look, even better than the black/gold pair that came out about two years ago. It’s interesting that Vintage is tagged onto the name when the feel of it is nothing of the aged, weathered ones we’ve seen and tend to be on the fence about. Nonetheless not a bad pair to consider. via Size?

Last March we showed you an interesting collaboration between Reebok’s rejuvenated lifestyle persona and Jean-Michel Basquiat’s contemporary art. The Reebok x Basquiat Spring/Summer 2010 Collection primarily featured white leather uppers and gum soles, fitting with the light-weather seasons. The upcoming Fall 2010 Collection not only uses darker colors, but adds five more shoes to the roster. The Omni Pump Court Victory Pump, Top Down, Ventilator, Running Dual, and Phase II, and two new designs in the Ree Down and City Jam round out the entire collection with each model housing the soul of a different work of art. Also available will be accompanying apparel – we’re talking jackets and graphic tees. Check out the collection and expect these at select Reebok retailers in the future. via Provider.

Our most recent sightings of the encircled-H logo that represents Cali-based boutique HUF, have been previews of their upcoming fall 2010 footwear collection. That certainly doesn’t mean that Keith Hufnagel and crew are out of the collabo game. Far from it, in fact, and here’s proof: the new Rod Laver Vintage from HUF x adidas Consortium. These joints come well equipped for summer with a breathable perforated upper and a grey/aqua colorway that’ll set off just about any fit you can match them with. These just touched down at select adidas Consortium retailers including DQM in New York.
