Nike SB URL Dos Equis XX Unreleased Sample

It’s almost been ten years since Nike SB’s inception and almost six years since we last saw a Nike SB URL model. At the height of Nike SB’s hype, the URL was removed from the Nike SB product line as skateboarding was no longer a true focus of the micro-brand. The Nike SB URL and E-Cue both shed the classic chunky skate-shoe design and went with a sleeker, almost low-top basketball shoe look but unfortunately the forward-thinking URL was way too ahead of its time. Most of our readers might not even be able to pinpoint the URL from a line-up but this unreleased scrapped sample proves that Nike may have had some creative plans for the shoe.

The pair pictured here was part of a scrapped Nike SB Beer Pack; representing Dos Equis, the beer of choice of the Most Interesting Man in the World, this special URL features a brown/red colorway with the Dos Equis logo on the tongue. We know the only shoe of the Nike SB Beer Pack that ever surfaced was the Nike SB Dunk Low Heineken, and it went on to be one of the SB Dunk GOATs. One point of interest is the presence of two different product tags that have different dates printed; one from late 2001 before the URL was introduced and another from 2003 which coincides somewhat with the release of the Heineken SB Dunk. Could this great colorway have changed the URL’s fate? Check out the images after the jump and test your auction luck by bidding on this pair from pdoggy85 on eBay.

Nike Sportswear Teaser The Next Foamposite Shoe

Is 2010 the year of the Jordan Retro or the year of the Foamposite? It’s a tough call at this point but these recent updates from the Nike Sportswear Twitter reveal an interesting plan in the works involving Foamposite. It could be a new colorway of a Foamposite One, Pro, or 1/2 Cent, but according to the cryptic message above, it’s “something the world hasn’t felt before”. Perhaps we might see Foamposite on a shoe that’s never used it before. We’re nearing the halfway point of 2010 and it looks like we’re in for something groundbreaking for the second half based on what Nike has to say, so continue reading to see what Nike has been tweeting about Foamposite and chime in with your ideas; what do you think Nike plans to do for the next Foamposite shoe?

Nike 6.0 Melee Camouflage Fall 2010 Preview

Nike 6.0 continues to gain ground in their neverending race to escape the SB shadow, and here’s one of the best efforts yet from the Swoosh’s action sports division.  The Nike 6.0 Melee appears with a silhouette that’s quite familiar, almost like a Dunk Low with an extra underlay piece on the side panels and an extra overlay on the heel cup area.  This first pair appears in a familiar SB motif: camouflage, though these are photorealistic and thus more ‘detailed’ than Brian Anderson’s famous Dunk High SB.  2010 has been the strongest year yet for Nike Six and you can expect these as part of their Fall collection, so stick with Sneaker News for updates.

Air Jordan Flight 9 White Black Varsity Maize

Seeing netting on the uppers and yellow on the midsole and one might think of the Air Jordan IV Tour Yellow that released in 2007. But this combination of white, black, and yellow makes its way on the Jordan Flight 9, one of Jordan Brand’s latest is-it-a-hybrid? designs. The category (hybrid or new design) in which the Jordan Flight 9 falls in is nebulous but the classic styling shouldn’t be ignored. Get off that Retro high horse and pick up this latest colorway over at Finishline.

Nike Zoom Kobe V Holiday 2010 Colorways

Kobe Bryant isn’t done yet. His Lakers squad just dropped two in a row to Phoenix but we all know that Kobe has something in store for the Suns once Game 5 returns to the Staples Center. But we’re talking about practice his shoes that are releasing this October. No, not the Nike Zoom Kobe VI, but three more colorways of the Kobe V. In October, you can expect two colorways; one grey/black/red – a poor man’s Aston Martin Zoom Kobe V – and another in white/black/del sol, and an all-purple rendition arriving in November. The Nike Zoom Kobe V only released in late December so a spill-over to the next season was expected – just like how the Kobe IV was still present during the ’09-’10 campaign. Continue reading for a better look and let us know which late-2010 release is best. via NT.

Nike Dunk High Monochromatic Canvas Fall/Winter 2010

2010 has been a great year for Nike Dunk Highs in canvas, due in large part to the Nike Sportswear Six/True Colors World Cup collection.  After the global football tourney wraps up this summer, Nike will release two new pairs of canvas Dunk Highs during their winter 2010 season, both of which rely on tonal designs.  While they don’t have a nickname beyond, say, ‘canvas pack’, these new Dunks are very similar: both rock a single colored canvas upper with tonal leather Swooshes, midsoles and metal eyelets, and each has a black outsole.  Choose from black or a nice deep pink color, and take a look at more shots of both after the jump.  via Provider

Nike Air Max 95 Black Grey White | JD Exclusive

We’ve seen more than our fair share of black/grey/white Nike Air Max 95 colorways, but the materials used in this latest JD Exclusive pair has rarely been done on the ninety-five. The color-gradient on the upper remains but the upper two “muscle-fibers” feature a faux-denim-like canvas as seen on the Black Denim Nike Air Max 24/7 and Nike Air Max 90 from the gargantuan Air Attack Pack. Many of the JD Exclusives features special materials and graphics not normally seen in other Air Max 95 releases, so this pair lives up to that JD standard. You can pick up this latest 95 release now over at JDSports.

Air Jordan Force Fusion VIII QS Birch Smoke Khaki Firepit

The Air Jordan Force Fusion Experiment was a simple combination of the the classic Nike Air Force 1 and an installment of the Air Jordan Legacy. But at some point, it began to lean a bit far to one side, emphasizing the Jordan more than the Force. This latest Air Jordan Force Fusion VIII maintains the balance and perhaps gives the best portrayal of a Force-Jordan fusion; the Air Force 1 High takes the wheel and it’s the Air Jordan VIII that takes somewhat of a backseat by adding touches that are subtle in comparison to the previous AJF VIII. This colorway features a beach-like combination of birch, khaki, smoke, and firepit red, and will be a Quickstrike release at the Foot Locker House of Hoops on June 10th. Now that there are TWO designs of the Air Jordan Force Fusion VIII, which is better? The one that leans more toward Jordan, or these, that clearly have more of an AF1 inspiration?

Nike Air Zoom Tiempo Write the Future

Nike Soccer has been receiving some high praise lately for their recently unveiled ‘Write the Future‘ World Cup 2010 campaign, and although the footwear focus has been on the $400 Mercurial Vapor Superfly II cleats, now there’s an alternative for those of us who will only be watching soccer this summer. Nike Sportswear will be releasing a special ‘Write the Future’ edition of the Air Zoom Tiempo, featuring a black leather upper with vibrant hits of pink and yellow and an illustration of Japanese football cartoon Captain Tsubasa on the insole. These will be dropping on June 5th at the NSW Write the Future pop-up shop in Tokyo, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted on a possible U.S. release. Via HB/Honeyee.

NBA Feet: 2010 Playoffs Conference Finals Recap Part 5

What began as two one-sided series have resulted in two great match-ups with the Magic and Suns facing elimnation. Turns out Orlando had some extra tricks on reserve as they took Game 5, forcing the series back to Boston, while the Suns and their momentum were stopped short by Ron Artest’s game-winning tip-in. The Nike Air Max LeBron VII made an appearance (and we’re not talking about that not-so-clandestine rendezvous among LeBron, Wade, Bosh, and JJ), but it was Nate Robinson that had ‘em on. Chinese footwear brand Peak is also getting some good exposure, as Mickael Pietrus, Ron Artest, and Jason Richardson have worn some nice designs of the up-and-coming shoe. With both the Lakers and Celtics holding 3-2 leads in their respective series, do we have a 2008 NBA Finals rematch looming? via Yahoo!.

Nike Air Force 1 Premium QS Jones Beach Re Release Info

On the whole, most would probably agree that 2009 was a down year for Air Force 1′s, but there were still a few definite standouts from last year’s AF1 crop. Near the top of that list was the Jones Beach edition, which was dropped in limited quantities at only a handful of select retailers in the Long Island area. Despite the regional theme, there were plenty of sneakerheads outside of Strong Island that were lusting after the super clean summer friendly colorway, and if you’re one of them, we have some good news for you. The Jones Beach AF1 will be re-releasing on June 4th at Extra Butter and other LI shops, but this time the release will spread to some other retailers across the country, so check with your local spot to see if they’re coming your way.
