It takes a basketball historian to understand the origins of the upcoming Air Jordan Carmichael. People have speculated that the name refers to the Jordan Motorsports team or possibly even unaffiliated biker Ricky Carmichael, but the Carmichael story actually begins where MJ’s legendary career got its first legs. The Carmichael Arena at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was the host to each of Mike’s college games as a Tar Heel. It’s since been replaced by the twice-as-big ‘Dean Dome’, but the path to UNC’s 1984 NCAA title started there. This new pair of Carmichaels goes with a black on black colorway that might not have existed had Jordan not endured the fines of his rookie year, so while the design is completely new, the color reminds you of how much basketball changed because of a single man. Part of the relay design was based off the JORDAN SWIFT 6 ( eddie jones) and JUMPMAN QUICK VI (another EDDIE JONES SNEAKER). you can view it’s similarities…
