Nike Air Mariah Black Blueprint Challenge Red Summit

What will the younger generation think of when it hears the word “Mariah”? Thoughts of Mariah Carey’s infamous on-screen bathtub strip-down on MTV Cribs, her flop of a movie that made Britney Spears’ Crossroads look like a profound biopic, or even Nick Cannon’s one-week-into-puberty mustache might come to mind, but for the older heads pushing past 40, the OG runner Nike Air Mariah might ring a few bells. The Air Mariah returned in 2010 in Air and Lunar form, and this new colorway featuring a black upper and a white/red midsole dropped at Schuh-You, so head there to grab your own pair.

Nike Hyperfuse Black Dark Grey

The Nike Hyperfuse is quite possibly the most futuristic-looking basketball shoe ever.  We concede that’s a debatable topic, especially with models like the Foamposite Pro/One that are still ahead of their time, but the Hyperfuse represents a massive technological leap.  Whereas most basketball sneakers still use leathers and/or synthetic variants with the occasional Flywire and/or carbon fiber upgrades, the Hyperfuse is made almost entirely of, well, Fuse.  The ultra-breathable material makes for a crazy space-age look, even when the shoe is colorblocked as simply as possible, as is the case with the above pictured pair.  Check out a bunch of new shots after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates on these and all Nike Hyperfuse release dates.  via Kinstor

Air Jordan 2010 Playground Outdoor Black Red Green Blue

The latest colorway of the Air Jordan 2010 Playground Outdoor is immediately one of the most interesting we’ve seen from this rugged baller.  Looking something like a UV-lit Kanye West video, the red, blue and green accents really pop off of the black base.  And it’s not that we haven’t seen a similar colorway before (the ‘black Olympic Flag’ palette comes to mind), but the choice in blue and green shades really makes these feel electric.  While they don’t seem to actually glow in the dark, that’s the look you’ll get during the day, and you can see more shots after the jump.  via Kinstor

Air Jordan XIII (13) Retro Playoffs Confirmed for Spring 2011

Much hooray and hoopla followed the confirmation of the Air Jordan XIII (13) Flint, and we expect the same (if not more) for the Black/True Red-White colorway. Expected to release in January 2011, the Black/True Red-White colorway of the Air Jordan XIII (13) is most recognized as the shoe Michael Jordan wore during the 1998 NBA Playoffs as well as the 1998 NBA All-Star Game. This colorway was also the same used for an Player Exclusive Air Jordan XIII Low. The 1997-98 season was Michael’s last with the Bulls, and during that momentous season, Jordan broke out not only Low and Mid versions of the Air Jordan XIII, but also the milestone Last Shot Air Jordan XIV as well as a pair of the Original Air Jordan 1 for his final game at Madison Square Garden (but of course he returned years later). If 2010 was a big year for the Air Jordan Retro, 2011 is definitely going to start off hot. Is the Air Jordan XIII ‘Playoffs’ a must-have for you?

Air Jordan IX (9) Retro Black Dark Charcoal True Red | New Images

On Wednesday, Sneaker News brought you a look into the upcoming Retro of the Air Jordan IX (9) Dark Charcoal, one of the few remaining Original Air Jordan colorways that have yet to re-release. This extra detailed look at the shoe reveals the materials used; nubuck seems to be the material of choice for the both the upper and mudguard. With shades or red differing by the slightest of degrees being such a hot topic in the Jordan Brand corner (Infrared vs. Varsity Red, anyone?), this September 2010 retro release lays to rest any argument because Black, Dark Charcoal, and True Red are the same colors from the OG. Continue reading for a gallery of images and stick with Sneaker News for more concrete release info regarding this Retro release. via Kinstor.

Air Jordan CMFT Max 11 First Look

The Nike Air Max 1. The Air Jordan XI. Undoubtedly two of Tinker Hatfields greatest works with unwaning popularity in the sneaker culture, together at last as part of the Air Jordan x Air Max hybrid project. The Air Jordan Comfort Max 12 was confirmed for a release in the early months of the next year and the Comfort Max 11 should be soon to follow. The upper of the Air Jordan CMFT Max 11 is just what you’d expect; and Air Jordan XI upper condensed into an Air Max 1 upper. The mudguard shape (in elephant print) and lace-hole construction takes after the XI with an Air Max 1-like tongue with Jordan tag, and the midsole, which isn’t exactly that of an Air Max 1, features a stylized version of the AM1 midsole but with more angling lines and Jordan branding. This black/volt colorway of the Air Jordan CMFT Max 11 should see a release sometime next year but scheduling is subject to change. Air Jordan 6 17 23 Black Concord Dark Grey Orion Blue

Yesterday, Sneaker News reported a preview of the Jordan Brand Spring 2011 Footwear collection. Among the confirmed releases of universally-loved Retros and the revelation of a Air Jordan x Air Max hybrid, the shoe that evoked the most curiosity was an Air Jordan hybrid that combined two Legacy models into one shoe. The first of such releases was confirmed to be the Air Jordan 6-17-23, and now we have a premature look at the first of a probable many hybrid Jordan shoes.

One quick look at the hybrid and you’ll notice that the Hybrid is more than just a mere sole-swap; it’s pretty much a completely redesigned shoe using elements of both the VI and XVII. The midsole features the translucent outsole combined with the midfoot plate while the upper is recognizably an Air Jordan VI but with a patent leather toe and a high tongue taken from the XVII. The ventilation holes taken from the Jazz-inspired Air Jordan XVII are also visible. This particular colorway of Black, Concord, Dark Grey, and Orion Blue is set for a March 2011 release so stick with Sneaker News and we’ll keep you on top of upcoming colorways and more hybrids. via NT.

Air Jordan VII (7) Retro White Orion Blue Black Infrared

Lucky number seven? The Air Jordan VII (7) – like any other Air Jordan model in the entire Legacy – holds its own importance to Jordan history; it was the first Air Jordan shoe to not feature any Nike branding of any kind, and also put a stop to the four-peat of visible Air from the Air Jordan III-VI. The AJ7 was also part of a defining moment in Jordan’s career, as MJ and a special colorway of the Air Jordan VII led the USA Dream Team to worldwide dominance. On a Retro standpoint, the Air Jordan VII hasn’t been long forgotten. In 2006, six colorways were released and a couple of years later, the Air Jordan VII 60+ Package was dropped in addition to the Air Jordan VII Hare from the Collezione Package of 2008.

This new colorway of White, Orion Blue, Black, and Infrared is set for a release in March, 2011. Some have compared the colorway to the Pacific Blue release of 2006, but Orion Blue and Infrared is a definite first for any Air Jordan model, and the white/black base offers ideal contrast for the two vibrant colors. The color combination could almost pass as a Kevin Durant PE. This colorway of the Air Jordan VII is slated for a March 2011 release so stick with Sneaker News and we’ll keep you updated with detailed images and info. via NT.

Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite @ MarqueeSole

As expected, the newest high-profile hybrid model from Nike has been met with mixed reactions from the sneaker community. While the Air Force 1 Foamposite might not be for everybody, there are certainly plenty of folks out there eager to get their hands on this intriguing new concoction. After seeing the initial photos, there has been plenty of outcry for a low model, but we’re still waiting to see if that’s in the works. For now, check out these new photos of the high, and if you want to cop yours prior to the August 14th release date, get them now at MarqueeSole.
