With long journeys reaching an end and upcoming releases confirmed, the last week in Sneaker News should leave you with feelings of anxiety and anticipation. The NBA season officially ended with the Lakers winning it all, so now all focus can be put on the FIBA World Championships and the blockbuster free-agency market. After numerous previews and detailed looks, the Air Jordan VI Infrared Pack will finally release, and we expect a crazy release event across the nation. Sneaker News also brought you some great looks at upcoming Nike Sportswear and Retro releases from Fall 2010 to Spring 2011, a welcome breather from all the Jordan hoopla. A first look at next year’s Nike Air Max installment was revealed as well, showing a complete overhaul of the upper.
There was plenty for the here and now as well; Sneaker News brought you a detailed look at the Air Jordan XIII Premio as well as some unreleased samples of shoes that were both released and stuck on the cutting room floor. Supra also made some noise, as we got a look at their recent releases and upcoming colorways, and an HTM-designed Footscape Woven (how often do you see these) also grabbed attention. We also got a look at another impressive Air Jordan collection with an admirable display to boot. There’s much more to see – celebs, NBA ballers, recently released kicks – so get caught up on all things sneakers by checking in with our Sneaker News Weekly Rewind.

If you’re the type that enjoys previews as much as the actual movie, check out this sneak peek at what’s to come in Fall 2010 to the end of the year. A runner-heavy line-up includes new colorways of the Nike Shox R4 as well as the Nike Air Max 2010 and the new Nike Air Max Tailwind+ 3. We also get a nice look at the upcoming re-retro of Nike Air DT Max ’96 LE in the black/white/yellow colorway as well.
As always, the best is saved for last; check out the two colorways of the Nike Air Griffey Max II in black/blue as well as black/neon green. The Dunkman-esque colorway of the Griffey is a definite first for that model, and anything with Volt seems to muster up a ton of excitement. No word on concrete release dates just yet so check out the extra sneak peeks after the jump and let us know which pair you’re after. Thanks to 1C3M4M of NT.

It’s that time again. Sneakerheads have already begun to camp out for the Air Jordan VI Infrared Pack, so the question is, how will you get yours? The Infrared Pack was undoubtedly one of Jordan Brand’s best kept secrets, although the timing seemed to be a bit perplexing. The Air Jordan VI Varsity Red was a definite success in terms of sales and popularity, but once rumor became fact, those who purchased the Black/Varsity Red pair felt duped, hoodwinked, bamboozled…(take your pick). Nonetheless, the Air Jordan VI Infrared is an Original Air Jordan colorway and the fact that both will arrive in a package is a pretty sweet deal. Availability will be limited to some degree – with some stores having less than 10 available – so do what you can to guarantee yourself a pair. How tough will it be? Let’s hope it doesn’t turn out like the Air Jordan XI Space Jam release. If time is money, you can always shell out a few extra bucks by picking up a pair on eBay. Good luck!

The ‘Cough Drop’ Foamposite One was given that nickname due to its translucent red outsole, giving the appearance of an oversized Luden’s throat soother. Although eating the shoe as a cough remedy isn’t recommended, the Foamposite does in fact manage to do two things; give you a Prozac-like happiness and lighten the load of your wallet. Niketown in NYC already gave out wristbands, anticipating the hoopla behind the shoe, and the House of Hoops was also confirmed as a source for the Foams. Now 21 Mercer – the Nike Sportswear store in SoHo – will also drop these Foams, so New Yorkers can now add a third option to the list. The Nike Air Foamposite One Cough Drop will release tomorrow at the three aforementioned locations, but you can always grab a pair now on eBay.

Yesterday night, Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers won their fifth championship in eleven seasons. Kobe will be the first to say that this championship was a true team victory; Kobe didn’t have his A-game (25% from the field) but the script was flipped as the rest of the Lakers squad had to carry its superstar to victory. Kobe called this championship the sweetest one yet because it proved to be most difficult – and beating the Celtics didn’t hurt. The Black Mamba may need to have his thumb measured (assuming he wants to wear all rings on one hand), but all you need to know is your shirt size because this sweet 5-Rings Black Mamba t-shirt just dropped at Nikestore.

The Nike Trainer 1 debuted last year and saw special colorways created not only for the New York Yankees, but also pitcher Chien Ming Wang. Here’s the latest Trainer designed for the Bronx Bombers, the Nike Air Trainer 1 360 II. These are even Yankee-r than last year’s joints, going with a grey base and navy pinstripes, plus a ton of custom details. From ‘NEW’ ‘YORK’ on the heels, to a year-by-year accounting of the Yanks’ World Series crowns and a Joe DiMaggio quote stitched into the tongue tags, these Air Trainer 1 360s do a great job of capturing the Evil Empire’s legacy. Unfortunately for their legion of fans, these were given to the players and will likely never hit retail. Click the jump below for detailed images, cos that’s apparently as close as we’ll ever get to having a pair. via TSG

As we’ve seen through their Fall 2010 previews, the Supra footwear lineup has grown up nicely from its beginnings with the Skytop. They’ve continued to add models every few months or so, but with all these new designs, don’t forget about the original ‘other’ Supra. The Supra Vaider is back for fall with a single new colorway as of today, one that makes up for the pinstripe pair being in black with its Yankees-friendly navy blue and white colorup. The mix of patent leather and suede gives a nice tonal effect and you can cop a pair today from your local Supra stockist.

In 2004 a special pair of the Nike Air Max 1 was released; the colorway of red, yellow, and black represented the Urawa Dragons of Japan. Here in 2010, a new women’s colorway of the Air Max 1 has a stark resemblance to that ’04 releases (which fetches well over $200 these days). From the black midfoot portion to the yellow Nike branding on the tongue, this new release is a great attempt at a “retro”, although the mesh area is now white and the bottom sole is gum instead of black. The upper is solar red – quite similar to Infrared – instead of the Jersey Red on the original. The Urawa Nike Air Max 1 is one of the rare 87s to have released but this new WMNS colorway is close enough (just slap on some yellow laces), so watch for these to drop at Nike Sportswear accounts soon or pick one up overseas from Dunk.

The Foot Locker House of Hoops opened its Harlem, NYC location during the Winter of 2007; it quickly became a favorite destination of the neighborhood, residents of the outer boroughs, and out-of-towners on vacation. The trek uptown can be a task, but lucky for us a House of Hoops retail spot will open up on 34th Street in Manhattan, the second HoH location in the borough. It will be located next to another New York City landmark building – the Empire State Building. These sports-specific shops should thrive in New York City; a Foot Locker store dedicated to running opened up late last year in Union Square and has become a popular destination for lovers of the sport/exercise. Check back with Sneaker News and we’ll let you know when the store officially opens up. via F5tofresh.

The Air Jordan Alpha 1 Outdoor came outta left field for its unexpected debut as a CC Sabathia PE around MLB Opening Day. The weather’s more appropriate for outdoor ballin’ in the summer months, so get ready for a proper rollout of this rugged AJ1 redux. The pair pictured above features a Laser Blue shade that practically explodes from the base of greys and black, a look that’s both warm weather-friendly and versatile. They’re part of Jordan Brand’s Fall 2010 footwear collection and should be out soon, so click the jump below for more images. via Dunk

Here’s a new Nike Dunk Low for June 2010, and it’s immediately one of the best lowtop Dunks from Nike Sportswear all year. You might call these ‘Grape’ Dunks, cos the mostly white design has teal and purple accents that are sure to remind you of the legendary Air Jordan V. Beyond the classic colorway, these look super crisp with a mix of smooth and tumbled leathers and are certainly a candidate for best all-white kicks this summer. Grab a pair today from an NSW retailer like JBseller on eBay.

The Nike Air Max Wavy and it’s affordable pricetag can be viewed as a Foamposite Lite. But wait, there already IS a Foamposite Lite! Nevertheless, this recently released pair of Nike Basketball kicks should be a popular one, given it’s Foam tendencies, sub-Benjamin pricetag, and variety of colors, like this new Dirty Copper colorway. Don’t be surprised if other Foamposite colorways start to surface – although the upper material on the Wavy might not be the Foam material. The Nike Air Max Wavy has begun to pop up everywhere so be on the lookout for this new colorway at Nike basketball retailers near you. via TSG.
