It looks like the ‘Photo Blue’ Nike Zoom Kobe V has undergone another transformation. It showed up back in March and the initial samples showed a monochromatic blue upper with extra texture thanks to the embedded Flywire strands. About a month later, Foot Locker reported a July 2010 release date and showed us that the ‘overlay’ sections had added a pebbled texture similar to the surface of a basketball. Well now they’ve come full circle, and the Photo Blue ZKV is back to an even finish for its upper. No matter the shading, these are Kind of Blue, which explains why they’re called ‘the Miles Davises’ . Let us know which version you think is best, and cop the Miles Davis Zoom Kobe Vs a couple weeks early from JBseller on eBay.

With sneaker collections, it’s not always about what you have and how many you have, but how you show it off. The last two collections we showed you – Bossing and 23BB – displayed two opposite spectrums of the collections storage methods. Bossing had great wall displays and glass housings while 23BB kept his simple by storing his kicks in their respective boxes against the wall. No disrespect to either of ‘em, but this latest collection by Ryan of the Philippines might have both of them beat – from a display standpoint. Ryan has all of his Air Jordan displayed in boutique-like wall units with back-lit walls and ceiling-mounted lighting, but he keeps this modern display down to Earth by packing each of his beloved pairs in trusty Zip-log bags. Three heat-filled collections, three different methods of storage. It’s a matter of preference for each sneakerhead, but its clear Ryan prefers the flashier things. Continue reading for a complete look at this collection and you tell us which collection comes out on top in a battle royale between Bossing, 23BB, and Ryan. via yourdailydoseofmarc.

During a decade in which seven-footers and a man named Michael ruled the realm, Gary Payton helped transform a Northwestern team from young talented squad to Western Conference Champions in a remarkably short span. Equipped with a defensive skill-set matched only by the rigor of his trash-talking mouth, Gary Payton led the then Seattle Sonics to the ‘96 NBA Finals and duked it out with Michael Jordan and the 72-10 Bulls for six games. Payton was amidst the peak of his career – a peak longer than most NBA players – and remained one of the best point guards in the league for another seven seasons since that ’96 Finals appearance. In 1998, Gary Payton was finally appointed his own signature line with Nike and a year later, the Nike Air Zoom GP was unveiled. Vin Baker’s Jumpman Pro Strong just got a retro release, and here’s a look at another Jordan Brand sneaker from one of their OG endorsement team. After his signatures from the late ’90s, Eddie Jones rocked several different Air Jordan franchise models, including this Air Jordan XIV PE from his time as a Memphis Grizzly. These are the ‘stitched’ style AJXIVs, with lines of perforations running parallel to monochromatic stitching on the white leather side panels. ‘EJ’ embroidery on the inner ankle lets you know these are legit NBA PEs from a time when you couldn’t get them at, say, House of Hoops. A dope look for any Air Jordan completist, these are available slightly used in EJ’s size 13 from sole_supreme on eBay.

Fifteen years ago, Hideo Nomo opened the floodgates as the first Japanese-born full-time Major League Baseball player. Nomo’s appeal was well rounded, from his connections to the Pacific rim to a one-of-a-kind windup, so it’s no surprise Nike noticed this and signed him. Here’s the Nike Air Max NM Nomo that was released the year after Hideo won the NL Rookie of the Year in 1995. If the sole looks familiar, that’s cos it’s the same one that also released under the Air Griffey Max 1 in ’96. Two colorways will release during the Spring 2011 season, with Pro Blue and Varsity Red uppers both accented by black ‘teeth’ at the top and bottom. The latest entry in Vans’ California Collection is another Off the Wall classic. The Vans Era is a staple in any robust skate-inspired wardrobe, and these two new pairs are among the nicest to ever hit retail. Both of them are done in monochromatic leather with perforations on the side panels, just like the California Sk8-His we previewed earlier this month. They also have gold accents including embroidery and metallic eyelets, so click the jump below for more images and stick with Sneaker News for updates on these Fall 2010 releases. via Sneakers.FR

Sneaker News’ report of Reebok’s signing of John Wall sparked an intense debate in our open forum; Wall’s achievement was both applauded and derided, but how can you possibly turn down a signature shoe? During his workout with Washington Wizards, John Wall unofficially debuted the Reebok Zig Slash, the Zig-midsoled basketball shoe that’s due out in the coming months. Attacking the rim, circuiting through defensive drills, taking notes from Flip Saunders, and a one-and-one session with former NBA All-Star Sam Cassell seemed to be no problem for Wall and the Reebok Zig Slash, and its good that the comfort is showing because he’s most likely going to call Washington home by the end of the month. Check out the gallery of John Wall in the Reebok Zig Slash and we’d like to hear your voices again; what potential does a John Wall Reebok sig shoe have? via NBA.

There’s been a nice variety in mostly-white Nike Air Force 1s for men, and now here’s one just for ladies. These WMNS Uptowns go with a white patent leather base, white laces, white sole — white everything, except for the yellow Swooshes, done in a duller leather. These would have made a great shoe for spring as well, but at least they’re making it out while we still have a ton of nice weather. Grab a pair today from Kicks-Crew.
