The latest colorway in Nike’s Retro effort of hybridizing a classic Nike upper with a vulcanized sole comes in a combination of “fresh” colors – New Green and Purple Punch. What could pass as Capri-Sun juice-box flavors, these two colors appear on a mens pair of the Nike Auto Trainer, combining the aforementioned vulc-sole with the aggressive Nike Air Trainer SC II 3/4 upper. One might think a colorway like this would suit the young’ns better but its the men who get this fruit-loop color-combo while the kids are left with a near-OG rendition. Color mismatching aside, these new Trainers are available now at Wish and should hit other Nike Sportswear retailers soon.

In the sneakerhead calendar, 2010 will go down as one of the biggest years – in terms of releases. Jordans galore, uber-limited collaborations, two great signature shoes, and a smorgasbord of Foamposite releases should leave your belt a few notches wider and your wallet inversely thinner. Unfortunately, there isn’t much time to let up, because in addition to the Jordan Brand Spring 2011 releases, Foamposites will also experience a colossal release during the same season, causing some to spend a mortgage payment’s worth on shoes.
Earlier this month Sneaker News confirmed the release of the Metallic Pewter Nike Air Foamposite One; releasing alongside is the Dark Neon Royal colorway (pushed back from the original September 2010 scheduled drop) of the Nike Air Foamposite One – the colorway that had Penny Hardaway go gaga and revolutionized the way basketball shoes were designed. The One’s fraternal twin – the Pro – will also see a release in Electric Green/Black-White; could that mean a Kryptonate-like upper? Could Premium Pete’s Foamposite vision be realized, or is expecting a throwback to the Voltage Foamposite Pro be a better guess? Spring 2011′s going to be nothing short of a massive release so let us know which of these Foams you’ve got your eye on. Stocking up on another pair of Royals? Chime in.

The eighth annual Quai54 International Streetball Championship was held in paris over the weekend, and Jordan Brand made sure this was the biggest and best one yet. Taking a page from the NBA All Star Weekend, the two day event had a three point shootout and slam dunk constest, the latter of which was judged with help from Jordan Brand’s point guard, Chris Paul. Rapper Fat Joe was on hand to rock the crowd, but even the Terror Squad leader’s shine was nothing compared to the Eiffel Tower in the background. Check out more shots from the event after the jump, and keep an eye out for a special ‘Un-’ version of the Quai 54 Jordan Team Iso in white/yellow.

If Jordan-heads were to pick the truest Retro of the 2010 bunch, it would easily be the Air Jordan IX (9) Dark Charcoal Retro; “Powder Blue” wasn’t really Powder Blue and the Infrared/Varsity Red debate has been beaten to death. When Sneaker News dropped some nice detailed images of the Dark Charcoal Air Jordan IX, some of our readers called it “the best Retro of 2010″ and “completely OG”. The materials look to be of the right mix and the colorway is identical to the 1994 original release. When are these dropping? You can finally get your hands on these on September 4th at Jordan Brand retailers like Foot Locker, so stick with Sneaker News for updated release info and check out our Air Jordan Release Dates page.

The Nike Air Max 97 works best with simple colorways, and here’s a women’s colorway that adds to the already significant pile of proofs. These ladies AM97s would have been right at home in the Air Attack Pack with their two-toned design, this pair opting for a shiny white upper atop a sole so blue it looks like the beach of a private island. We’re talking about the ‘Glass Blue’ shade, which recently set off a WMNS Air Max 24/7 to similar success. Expect these at stateside Nike Sportswear retailers soon; Swiss e-tailer Titolo just got theirs.

The Air Jordan 1 High Retro is Jordan Brand’s cornerstone ‘lifestyle’ model, a basketball shoe whose design has so thoroughly permeated fashion that we accept it as an outfit anchor. With a wider range of colorways than pretty much every other JB model, the AJ1 is something like JB’s Dunk or Air Force 1. Here are two new styles for August 2010 that go in completely opposite directions, but with equally satisfying ends. The tonal brown joints with burgundy and lime green hits are a lesson in color theory that feature a cool new scored suede on the underlay, while the tonal grey joints feature quite a bit of nubuck, both perfed and smooth. Check out closeups of both pairs after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates on two of the hottest AJ1 High Retros to release in a long while. via CT

On Friday, Sneaker News gave you a look at an interesting pair of the Nike Air Max 1 that featured a solid, traction-less gum sole that looked very much like the signature gum soles seen on Clarks Wallabee shoes. This colorway of Sail (a light beige) matches well with the gum-sole – as does other earthy tones. Gum soles are definitely not a first for the Nike Air Max 1 but it sure is an interesting twist. This is a Fall 2010 Sample so these could possible drop sometime soon so in the meantime, check out the pics after the jump and see how much these babies sold for by checking out the ended auction from langox510x on eBay.

This new colorway of the Nike Air Force 1 High is about as pleasing as you can get – that is, if you’re a fan of the simpler days of the AF1. The upper is colored by Light Bone, which can be described as a cross between off-white and beige, with bubbly polka dots on a Sport Red tongue tag. If the description rings a bell, this AF1 High is an exact reverse colorway of the Nike Air Force 1 Sport Red we featured just a few days ago; it features a similar tongue tag with the same perforated-pinstripe graphic on the upper. Simple colorways (and gum soles) rule the AF1 so pick up this recently released colorway now at Size?.

It’s been almost two years since Rafael Nadal beat Roger Federer in what many consider the greatest tennis match of all time. Their match lasted nearly five hours, which also made it the longest final in Wimbledon history (although less than half as long as the new record-holder). If Rafa can endure and it back to the finals this year, he could very well meet Federer, and he’ll be wearing a white version of the above pictured shoe. The Nike Air Max Courtballistec 2.3 pictured above is the same one Nadal wore en route to his fifth French Open title, and features Electric Green in the lava pattern borrowed from Andre Agassi’s Air Tech Challenge II. They frown upon this kind of self-expression at the All England Club, but there’s no better shoe for your summertime tennis needs, and they’re available from StepToRun on eBay.

The latest pack of Nike Dynasty Highs features one of the craziest colorblocking schemes we’ve seen from the Swoosh. And that’s cos this isn’t a traditional Dynasty High colorblock based on the natural lines of the shoes, but rather, a huge spread of multicolored polka dots in shades that might remind you of a ’70s sitcom wardrobe. One pair features purple and black, while the other is pushed toward blue, with both sharing orange, lime green and white accents. Expect these at your local Nike Sportswear retailer soon, they’re up for pre-order at Japan’s Limited Edt.
