O.J. Mayo’s been getting some NBA Summer League burn and honing his game, and he’s been doing it wearing the Nike Flight Lite 2010, an upcoming Nike Basketball shoe with roots planted as far back as 1991. The Nike Flight Lite was a super-high basketball shoe of ’91 – you might’ve seen it on White Men Can’t Jump – and returns in 2010 completely redesigned, sporting a super-high tongue and the OG Flight logo. The cut of the shoe is similar to the recently released Nike Hyperdunk 2010 and actually shares an overall design with the Flight Lite 2010, but the Flight Lite features a lightweight Phylon midsole with encapsulated Air for cushioning opposed to Zoom used in the HD 2k10. Of course, it’s the sky-high tongue that sets the Flight Lite apart from the rest – a tongue that reaches almost halfway to Mayo’s shins. Check out the extra shot after the jump and expect the first colorways to drop this Holiday 2010 season. via hoopchina.
