Earlier this month Sneaker News showed you images of a Nike SB Dunk High that was designed by Civil of Rhode Island. Featuring a mix of subtle grey tones as well as contrasting materials on the upper, the Civil x Nike SB Dunk High spurns the loud colors usually found on Nike SB Dunks and goes for the concrete skate-shoe look, much like the Vans and Airwalks of the 90s. The previous images we showed you depicted the shoes with red fat SB laces, but the shoes itself do not come with a red set – but clearly the rouge color works well with this color-blocking. These just dropped early at Flatspot so check out the nice gallery of images after the jump and let us know if you think which color laces – white or red – make these look better.

The red laces are only available @ the Civil store in Rhode Island. It's an extra set they're adding in as an exclusive cos apparently their store has quite a bit of red decor.
According to Civil's Guido, the shoe's designer:
"Times have changed, people are wearing simpler, cleaner outfits, and are looking to be able to wear any color jean or color t-shirt with a neutral pair of shoes. Consumers want to put in any lace color to pop it if you want, wear blue or black jeans or whatever.
"That was basically my inspiration, grey tones for the neutral look, black mid soles to set it apart from most other Dunks out there, and let the customer choose how they want to use the color to express themselves. That’s why we are offering a 3rd lace here in fire red. Our store walls are all red so we wanted something to tie back to the store."

I'm feelin these. Just a nice simple shoe to rock with whatever and not really sweat it if they get a little dirty. Big ups to Nike on this release.

You mean big ups to Guido bro. Nike didn't design these.

i live right next to civil and it is a awesome skate shop! and i got this pair of 'civils' from their too and when you get them, they look soooooooooooooo nice but after like a month, if your not careful with them, they look crappy. overall tho, its a wicked sick shoe
