The Air Jordan XIII (13) was introduced for the 1997-98 NBA Season, Jordan’s 13th and final season with the Chicago Bulls. By then, the Air Jordan legacy was firmly cemented into footwear history, mainly for its avant-garde design. The 13th Air Jordan in the Legacy did not disappoint; the Air Jordan XIII featured an outsole shaped after the paw of a black panther and a jewel on the rear hear representing the eye of the large cat. This colorway was frequently worn by Michael Jordan throughout the 1997-98 NBA Season and is also remembered for its “supporting” role in Spike Lee’s ‘He Got Game’, which starred Denzel Washington and budding star Ray Allen.
This deadstock pair you see here was issued to Michael Jordan himself for in-game wear, but these never touched Jordan’s feet let alone the United Center hardwood. That season was quite a whirlwind for Michael Jordan and his shoes, especially in the postseason; Jordan wear-tested two great colorways of the Air Jordan XIII Low and for the NBA Finals, Michael prematurely introduced the Air Jordan XIV. This Game Issue pair of the deadstock size 13.5s would be a significant addition to any hardcore Air Jordan collector, so check out the gallery of images after the jump and try your luck with this auction from mr.warehouse on eBay.

Ludacris was amongst a number of rappers and celebrities who attended the Developing Options UneekVision Diabetes Awareness & Healthy Living Benefit Concert at Club Nokia in Los Angeles this past Sunday night. The Atlanta rapper was also one of the performers of the evening and even brought Lakers’ Forward Ron Artest on stage for a short cameo appearance. Luda seemed to have also went into his closet of sneakers and brought back the Air Jordan XII’s in White and Black that were probably from the Countdown Pack that was released a couple of years ago, he matched his kicks with an all Black outfit that included a Crooks & Castles t-shirt.

LeBron James’ decision to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami has caused an unexpected ripple effect throughout the NBA, going as far as inducing reactions out of former NBA greats Michael Jordan and Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson. Both Jordan and Johnson, regarded as two of the greatest players in the history of the NBA, were recently asked for their opinions on “The Decision”, and not surprisingly, both were unable to see eye to eye with LeBron’s decision. Michael Jordan stated “There’s no way, with hindsight, I would’ve ever called up Larry, called up Magic and said, ‘Hey, look, let’s get together and play on one team’”, with Johnson voicing similar sentiments. “We didn’t think about it cause that’s not what we were about”, said Johnson. It’s been two weeks since ‘The Decision’ but the aftershock can still be heard around the world. LeBron James’ decided to join Cleveland to win championships, squashing the spirit of competition and the DIY satisfaction under his palm, but who’s to say Miami is guaranteed a championship? Let us know if you agree with Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson’s statements regarding LeBron James’ decision. via CBSSports & Bloomberg.

The Nike Air Max 90 Infrared releasing this Saturday should be the only colorway in your mind, but check out this sample pair of the Air Max 90 in a brown, blue, black, and white colorway. the upper, tongue, laces, and Air housing are all a pecan brown, with black on the toeguard and Air Max badge above the Air Unit as well as the medallion on the heel. Blue takes part in the just the swoosh, but its vibrant tone makes up for the lack of quantity. These are a bit similar to another Air Max 90 that released a year ago although ostrich skin was used on the mudguard and a darker shade of blue color was used. Hopefully this great colorway will see a release, but you can still get your hands on this size 9 sample by checking out this listing from cigar0330 on eBay.

The recently introduced trio of Nike Sportswear silhouettes in premium perforated white leather uppers had many sneakerheads excited. Any white sneaker complements any summer outfit and perforated leather just adds the perfect touch. For example, the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski was a huge hit among the Sportswear fans. This Saturday, July 24th, 21 Mercer will have the Nike Air Force 1 Low and the Dunk High AC available. The Air Force 1 is all-white, untainted by any senseless colorblocking while the Dunk High AC features an expertly colored midsole in dark olive for the perfect contrasting touch. If you’ve been keeping up with Sneaker News’ coverage of the upcoming Nike Air Max 2011, you should remember the exclusive look we gave you of the Black/Volt and Grey/Red colorway as well as the sample of the upcoming Grey/Orange. This next sample features grey/black, a nice colorway for those who feel the dark concrete colors represents them better than a vibrant yellow or red can. The all black fuse upper features a cool grey inner lining as well as midsole room, with a metallic silver swoosh on the upper and AIR MAX branding on the heel. The Fuse-uppered Air Max 2011 should be a popular choice for run-philes when these do indeed drop, and the Nike+ iPod integration doesn’t hurt. Check out this sample after the jump and buy this size 10 sample from cigar0330 on eBay.

The Nike Air Attack Pack featured a barrage of colorways from its classic Air Max runners and included in the first Air Attack wave was the Nike Air Max Turbulence+ 16 – a shoe more recognized for its performance value rather than its lifestyle appeal. The Turbulence was actually the first shoe that featured the honey-comb truncated Air Unit (later seen in a full-length unit in the Air Max Tailwind 2010). This new colorway of the Air Max Turbulence+ 16 features a similar colorway to one of the Air Attack renditions, featuring a bright Volt midsole wall with a white/grey/black upper (the Air Attack version featured an all-black upper). This colorway of the Turbulence just dropped over at JDSports so head there to cop a pair.

This past Saturday Sneaker News gave you a heads up on an early Finishline release of the Nike Air Max 90 Infrared; those who patiently waited all year were rewarded with a one-week earlier drop. If you’re still looking to get a pair earlier from the release date of July 24th (which really isn’t in concrete), 21 Mercer in the SoHo district of New York City dropped them today. Infrared 90s used to swim well above $200 for a deadstock pair, even after the late-2005 History of Air release. But with more retros in recent years and 2010′s wider release, the market value of the shoe has decreased, but the beauty of the shoe has not waned one bit. If you can’t wait until this Saturday for a wider retail release, head to 21 Mercer to cop a pair of grab one now on eBay.

Previously referred to as the Nike Hypermax 2010 as a reference to the equivalent model that was spawned from the original Hyperdunk, the shoe pictured above has had its name officially changed to Nike Air Max Hyperdunk 2010. The first pair to hit retail is constructed almost entirely in black Flywire-embedded carbon fiber, which means that not only are these lighter than your average ‘big man’ shoes, but they’ll certainly be able to withstand a beating down on the block. The accent shades might have you thinking ‘blue raspberry’, with the increasingly common teal shade known as Retro coming in on the heel and sole while a Sport Red sockliner finishes off the look. The first in what we expect to be a long line of dope AM HD2010 colorways, these are available now from NikeStore.

The 2010 FIBA World Championships are just a month away, and Team USA only recently began their practices. Mayo, Eric Gordon, Steph Curry, and Tyreke Evans are joined by seasoned vets Chauncey Billups, Tyson Chandler, Lamar Odom, David Lee, and more. Here we get another look at the Nike Hyperfuse and Nike Hyperdunk 2010 in the Team USA Basketball colorway of White, Obsidian, and Sport Red. Gerald Wallace also wore a pair of the Air Jordan 2010 Team while adidas representatives Derrick Rose and Chauncey Billups showed off their stripes.
