Celebrity Feet: LeBron James Nike Air Max LeBron VIII Black

Controversial decision maker, LeBron James, was recently spotted at his King’s Academy Camp in San Diego sporting a new colorway of his upcoming 8th signature model.  It appears that LeBron was taking this “blackout” edition of the Nike Air Max LeBron VIII out for a test-drive, and giving the sneakerheads out there a nice treat in the process. Also spotted on court was a mysterious pair of lower-cut Nike Air Max b-ball kicks that may or may not turn out to be a potential Air Max LeBron VIII Low. Check out some more pics of both after the jump, and stay tuned for more info on all upcoming LeBron signature models. Via NT

Nike Air Force 1 Low Supreme 5 Boroughs Pack Apparel

New York City cats have been matching their kicks with their gear for the longest time, so it’s only fitting that the Nike Air Force 1 Low 5 Boroughs Pack has some accompanying threads and caps for you to color-coordinate at your discretion. Each pair from the 5 Boroughs Pack has its own t-shirt featuring the borough printed in similar fashion to the graphic found on the insole of the shoe, as well as a Nike brand fitted cap featuring a swooshed-out NYC lettering on the color-matched base. You’ll most likely find the gear at 21 Mercer as well as Niketown, so be sure to cop a few fitteds and tees to go along with your fresh pairs of the Air Force 1 *Enter Your Borough Here* tomorrow. via FRESHNESS.

Sneaker News Weekly Rewind: 7/24 7/30

July’s coming to a close so while some of you may be wallowing in self-pity at the inevitable return of the school year, cheer yourself up with this week’s Sneaker News Weekly Rewind. This week brought closer looks at the Cool Grey XI and Flint XIII, which should ease the pain brought on by piles of schoolwork. New ‘Jays’ didn’t disappoint either, as we got a look at a new colorway of the Air Jordan II as well as a Lasered Fusion IV. New images of an upcoming Electric Green Foamposite as well as the return of the OG Diamond Turf colorway brightened our moods, as did the release of some August 2010 Nike SB releases.

On the basketball side of things, the color red was a recurring theme, as both the Skills Academy PE of the Soldier IV as well as a Quickstrike pair of the Uptempo 97 were colored up in the eye-catching tone. Things were toned down with Steve Nash’s new signature shoe, which features – big surprise – a low-cut construction. Sneaker News directed a shining light at our readers with the launch of the Best of WDYWT, which showcases the twenty best WDYWT submissions of the week. And finally, the Nike Air Force 1 made a campaigned convincingly with the introduction of the 5 Boroughs Pack, a long-awaited concept that has finally come to life. There’s a lot more to see so if you need a drug-free mood enhancer, check out the final Sneaker News Weekly Rewind of July.

Air Jordan IX Retro White Varsity Red Black | Available on eBay

It’s been quite a year for the Air Jordan IX.  From the OG colorway retros to the Bin 23, Citrus and Quai 54 editions, we’ve seen more AJIXs than home runs Mike hit in the minor leagues when the Nines first released.  The “What if MJ never retired” hypothetical is one for the ages, and you can’t help but wonder if he would have made it four in a row while wearing these white, black and True Red AJ9s at old Chicago Stadium.  But all that’s merely conjecture, with the concrete facts being that you can grab your own piece of the history that never was from Shaolin8 on eBay.

Air Jordan II (2) Retro QF University Blue Black | Release Reminder

Is the Air Jordan II University Blue a tribute to Michael Jordan’s days as a student athlete at the University of North Carolina? It’s pretty clear that most University Blue colorways of Air Jordans have been a nod to Jordan’s collegiate years as a dorset ram (better recognized as a Tar Heel, though the name has nothing to do with the animal). The color blue isn’t a first for the Air Jordan II – remember the Air Jordan II “Melo” and the Air Jordan II Low of 2004 – but never has it owned so much of the upper. In addition to the eye-catching color is the translucent “ice” sole and the new JORDAN branding on the heel – an obvious contemporary take on a Jordan logo. These have already popped up at select shops but will officially release tomorrow, July 31st, at Jordan Brand retailers like Extra Butter, or snag a pair now on eBay.

Ronnie Fieg x Culture Shoq x Asics Gel Lyte III

The ongoing collaboration between Asics and Ronnie Fieg has proven to be a Legion of Doom-level tag team.  Among the best collabo series, the man from David Z is back with the Onitsuka Tiger for another hot new Asics Gel Lyte III.  They’ve once again expanded to a trio with the inclusion of Culture Shoq, who saw another Feig x Asics Gel Lyte III release last year as part of the Trilogy Project.  The new joints also feature purple accents, but are considerably heavier on the black for a nice change of pace.  Check out more shots after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for a release date.

Celebrity Feet: Justin Timberlake Air Jordan One6 One7 White Black

Justin Timberlake and Woody Harrelson were recently spotted in Manhattan taking it to the blacktop for a scene of their new movie, Friends With Benefits, which appears to include a small game of pickup basketball. Timberlake’s been seen rocking Jordan’s before, and for this particular instance, he broke out a pair of the new Air Jordan One6 One7 in White and Black, that features a simple Jordan aesthetic and notable Black patent leather hits. It seems that a lot of people are wearing these to play in; just recently, a number of NBA and ex-NBA players wore the White and Metallic Silver colorway during the 2010 Summer Groove down in Miami.

You might’ve expected Harrelson to whip out a pair of the Nike Hyperize Billy Hoyle or even the Flight Light High, but instead he chose the New Balance 889. Justin Timberlake – while not a Billy Hoyle –  isn’t too shabby with the rock either; he’s participated in a number of celebrity basketball games – a notable one being his awkward and taking-it-too-seriously match-up against actor Tom Cavanaugh (they were like Kobe and Raja out there) in 2002. Check out more pictures of Justin and Woody after the jump…
