Here’s a look at a Nike SB Dunk Low that first popped up in previews nearly four years ago, but somehow never saw the light of day. Dubbed ‘Neon J-Pack’ for its colorblocking identical to the 2005 black and royal blue pair that itself was inspired by the immortal Air Jordan 1, it looks like these Neon J Pack Dunk SBs are gonna finally make it to retail. These joints are rumored for a Quickstrike release during the Spring 2011 season that’s already chock full of heat, so stick with Sneaker News for updates on these and all Nike SB release dates. via N-SB.org

Black, red and white has been a basketball shoe staple since Michael Jordan took athletic footwear to new heights and now that we know that these’ll match his Miami Heat uniforms even better than the forced mix with Cleveland’s crimson jerseys, here’s another look at the ‘main’ colorway of the Nike Air Max LeBron VIII. The eighth LeBron James signature from Nike tells you as much when you read the inside of the tongue tag, which is a nice detail, but you’ll probably be drawn toward the Flywire-embedded carbon fiber sections, speckled midsole and 360-degree cageless Max Air cushion. Check out more shots after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates on all LeBron James shoes. via in52

We’ve seen plenty of Nike Dunks with polka dots and other circular patterns, but here’s one of the most unique applications of the spotted technique. A Premium-level release of the ’08 shape revision that’s just for ladies, these new Dunk Highs are done entirely in supple black leather with white on the midsole, laces and tongue tag. That itself would be a nice, if simple, way to keep up with the current trend toward simplicity, but the huge dots that add shine and almost look like they’re somehow adding a tumbled effect to the leather, are the real attraction here. Check out more shots after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates on a stateside release, as they’re available now from Japan’s mita sneakers.

Yankees Captain Derek Jeter is one of a very small group of Major Leaguers that has a signature shoe, and deserving he is, indeed. We already saw a few colorways of the Jordan Jeter Throwback release – black/white, grey/white, and of course the Jordan Jeter Throwback Defining Moments – so it was about time we got one taken after the Yankees Home uniforms in white and navy blue. Check out the New York Yankees Home colorway of the Jeter Throwback, featuring navy blue on the upper with a while midsole and trim. Derek Jeter is in his last year of his contract…will we see him in pinstripes again next season? via LTD-online.

Here’s another new Nike Dunk High GS from Nike Sportswear’s Fall 2010 collection, one that’s decidedly on the more feminine side of ‘grade school’ than the Tiffany-like model we showed you earlier. These have the air of your classic pink-and-shrink, but a polka dot pattern whose background fades from white to pink as it moves back gives these GS Dunk Highs a look unlike any other Dunks we’ve seen. Check out more shots after the jump and keep an eye out for these at your local NSW retailer; they’re out now at Japan’s Limited Edt.

Not long Sneaker News reported an upcoming Air Jordan 6-17 hybrid that looked exactly like the shoe name suggested – an Air Jordan VI mashed together with an XVII. Another Spring 2011 Jordan Brand hybrid you can expect is the Air Jordan Prime 5, which can be described as an Air Jordan 1/Air Jordan Alpha 1 fused together with the Air Jordan V. The Air Jordan Prime 5 utilizes the silhouette of the Air Jordan 1/Alpha 1 but featured the netting from the AJV on the center panel. The toe box, heel, and upper lace placket also take after the Air Jordan V, while the tongue looks to be a silver 3M material. A look at the preliminary images will show you that this 1+5 hybrid is a lot more subtle than the 6+17 hybrid, but both the AJ1 and AJV are well represented in the shoe. Check out the upcoming colorways after the jump and let us know what you think of this latest design.

The Nike Zoom LeBron IV was introduced to the public in mid-November after an amassed hype and anticipation that grew from rough sketches that were first leaked on sneaker web-forums. Zoom Air, carbon-fiber plates, free-grooved “no-midsole” construction, and of course, Foamposite made up the LBJIV, and to this day, stands as one of the most popular designs of the extensive LeBron legacy. The Nike Zoom LeBron IV ‘Birthday’ was officially released on December 30th, 2006 – LeBron James’ birthday – as an online-members-only release at Nike.com. The shoes came housed in a special zippered package with an oversized L23 logo stitched on the face of the box and the King’s birthday stamped on a metal plaque on the lower-right-hand corner. The colorway was derived from the Cleveland Cavalier’s uniform from 1987 to 1994, although many attribute blue-and-orange to the colors of the New York Knicks longstanding jerseys. Needless to say, the Birthday LeBron IV was immensely popular in New York City and among Knicks fans, and once the Knicks finally rid themselves of waste and opened up some cap space for the summer of 2010, the Birthday IV-New York Knicks ties became all the more appropriate. Nike hosted a special event showcasing the Nike Trainer 1.2 Mid in Southern California during the MLB All-Star Break, hosted by former L.A. Dodger Rick Sutcliffe. The event featured greats from past and present with Bo Jackson, Albert Pujols, and Joe Mauer (the latter two being the reigning league MVPS) giving their own childhood baseball stories to the 40 high-school players who were listening with open ears. Sharing the spotlight with the superstar athletes was the Nike Trainer 1.2 Mid; the special colorways made for Jackson, Pujols, Ken Griffey Jr., Mike Schmidt, and Nolan Ryan are part of a special pack featuring uniform-specific colorways and personalized logos of each player.
Both Pujols and Bo Jackson wore their respective Trainer 1.2 Mid colorways from this ‘Legends Pack’ throughout the event. The key word of the event was “BOOM”, an obvious hint to the home-run hitting prowess of the three guests of honor; a special t-shirt with a baseball bat graphic and BOOM letters were fashioned for the event as well. Check out the gallery of images as well as the videos from the event and let us know what you think of the Trainer 1.2 Mid colorways. via vinscullyismyhomeboy.

Kobe rode the Nike Zoom Kobe V (5) Big Stage to a fifth NBA Championship last June and any doubt about Kobe’s ranks among the greatest to ever play the game should be thoroughly erased. After a draft-day trade from the Charlotte Hornets, Kobe Bryant has been a Los Angeles Laker for life – fourteen seasons and counting – and the man who bleeds purple and gold will most certainly die a Laker (barring a Jordan-like return to the NBA). For serious Kobe collectors, the Big Stage Kobe V was a dream come true – Kobe’s milestone achievements graffiti’ed impeccably onto arguably the best Kobe shoe in history – and now the Nike Zoom Kobe V (5) Big Stage Away colorway is available for purchase. A few sizes are available over at Kicks-Crew but you can also try your luck on eBay.

We’ve seen a wide range of collaborations from Asics in recent months. Ranging from Japan’s mita sneakers to Italy’s Slam Jam and back to the good old U-S-and-A with Ronnie Fieg, these tag team efforts have all been dope in their own ways. You might be wondering what the Onitsuka Tiger’s in-house designers have been up to, and your answer is here in the form of a preview of Asics’ Spring/Summer 2011 run of Gel Lyte III and GT II retro runners. Click the jump below to see a range of colorways from both that ascribe to the current trend towards simplistic palettes and colorblocking and stick with Sneaker News for updates on upcoming Asics releases. via FNG
