Slam Jam x Asics Gel Lyte III New Images

Asics continues its long-lived tradition of collaborating with European sneaker shops – Italy’s Slam Jam in this case – by creating this beautfully color-blocked pair of the Asics Gel Lyte III. We first showed this collaboration in early July but this second look reveals the truer colors of the shoe; at first, these appeared to be brown, but proper daylight has revealed the light-grey and white upper with the sick white-red gradient on the midsole. Slam Jam’s collaborations with big-name sneaker labels in the past – the Nike Air Force 1 for example – have been huge hits, and this upcoming Gel Lyte III with accompanying matching socks should be a huge hit in Europe as well. Check out the detailed shots after the jump and let us know what you think of the colorway. via S&M.

Nike Air Max 1 ACG Brown Velvet Black

Nike Air Max and Nike ACG have crossed paths before, but have we ever seen something like this? Check out the Nike Air Max 1 ACG, a Nike Air Max 1 with the ACG logo stamped on the heel and insole and an ACG x Air Max label on the tongue. The upper colorway of this pair is velvet brown and black, an fairly strong outdoors colorway, with a set brightly colored laces. The traction on the bottom sole remain unchanged from the original Air Max 1, so what makes this shoe stable for all conditions? Does this collaboration of Air Max and ACG entail more than a mere set of branding? Perhaps waterproof material or guarding on the upper? Continue reading for a detailed look because there’s a size 9 sample available for purchase from cigar0330 on eBay.

Nike Air Python OG White Brown Snakeskin | Available on eBay

The Nike Air Python was originally released in 1987 following the introduction of the Air Jordan II in 1986. Both the Air Python and Jordan II shared a similar design, but what separated the two was the use of snakeskin leather on the upper and tongue. The Air Python was not shy about using the material, as you can snakesking wrapped around the heel and was placed on the upper quarter as well as the span of the entire tongue. The premium quality of the materials combined with the jaw-dropping design of the shoe definitely turned heads during an era dominated by Nike Force and emergence of Nike Flight, but like the Air Jordan line, the Nike Air Python was meant to stand out from the pack.

The Air Python has never seen a retro and to say another is headed our way would be wishful thinking at best, but this size 9 pair on eBay has held up astoundingly well over its 23 years in existence. The condition of the shoe is a testament to the superb quality of the shoes used at that time. While we may never see a retro – the closest thing we got was the Air Jordan II (2) Premio with the crocskin – you can still add these to your vintage Nike collection by checking out this auction from b.!.z. on eBay.

Nike Basketball Pop Up Shop In Harlem The Ball Room

The World Basketball Festival is just weeks away, so to warm up for this one-of-a-kind event, the basketball triumvirate of Nike, Jordan Brand, and Converse opened up a pop-up shop in Harlem, NYC, called “The Ballroom”, showcasing the three brands’ products as well as offering some history lessons regarding the basketball timeline from each label. You can always expect the three to pull out all stops and this installment headquartered in one of the biggest basketball hotspots of the world exceeds expectations; displayed along the wall were some of the biggest basketball shoes of past and present, like the Air Jordan 2010, Hyperdunk 2010, and Nike Air Foamposite One. Also showcased was a nice collection of significant basketball jerseys – Michael Jordan’s first year, the Dream Team, and so on. This space is now open to the public so stop in to get a dose of basketball history. Many thanks to Juice, one of our featured contributors to Sneaker News Blogs!

Nike Air Maxim 1+ Trainer ACG Dark Shadow Varsity Purple

If you saw the Nike Air Max 1 ACG Sample that was reported earlier, this next sample pair might not come as a surprise. Check out the Nike Air Maxim 1+ Trainer ACG; this new colorway of the recently introduced Maxim 1 Trainer features the ACG branding on the heel as well as an ACG x Air Max graphic on the insole, however the tongue label reads the classic ‘Nike Air’ opposed to the ‘ACG Air Max’ label seen on the Air Max 1 ACG. The colorway of Dark Shadow and Varsity Purple is a combination of dark tones but there are hints of color popping out in the form of a speckled midsole as well as the black/pink and pink/orange speckled laces. Check out the images after the jump and if these induce the “must-have” feeling in your head, check out the entire listing from cigar0330 on eBay.

Air Jordan 1 Retro High Chocolate Velvet Brown Sage Garnet

Dropping in August is this Air Jordan 1 Retro High in a mix of autumn tones; a chocolate leather upper and velvet brown take the upper with a garnet ret swoosh and Air Jordan Wings logo with sage green on the laces, midsole stitching, and inner lining. The mix of brown tones should remind your of the Air Jordan II (2) Premio; it was once presumed that the Jordan Brand Bin 23 Collection would featured the same brown-leather colorways, but that hypothesis was quickly debunked upon the introduction of the Air Jordan IX (9) Premio. Would have surely been nice to see a line of high-quality brown leather colorways, but this Air Jordan 1 Retro High will do just fine. Check out the detailed shots and expect these to drop next month. via kinstor.

Li Ning BD Doom II Black Grey Red | First Look

Earlier this month Sneaker News gave you a look into Li-Ning’s upcoming basketball footwear line. The China-based company recently changed its logo and slogan in an effort to re-energize the brand that launched its first brick-and-mortar retail spot in American soil this past February. Baron Davis also introduced his first signature shoe – the Li-Ning BD Doom – during that launch, and now we get a look at Davis’ second shoe, the Li-Ning BD Doom II. While the new logo and Davis’ logo have made it onto the shoe, the ‘BD’ logo from the first shoe as well as the apparel line hasn’t returned. The upper is constructed by a mix of leather, faux snakeskin, and another material seen on the toe, tongue, and ankle collar. Please keep in mind that these are only samples, and are not necessarily the finished product, but until pics of the official version are leaked, you can check out the images after the jump and let us know what you think of this early version of Baron Davis’ second sig shoe with Li-Ning. via US10.

Nike Air Max+ 2011 Wolf Grey Black Total Orange

The Nike Air Max+ 2011 was first brought to light in mid-June and just last week, Sneaker News gave you a first look at the actual production version of the shoe. The Grey/Red and ever-so-popular Black/Volt colorway shown in that preview hinted at a possible slew of colorways featuring the same grey-on- and black-on- color-blocking, and this newly surfaced sample pair point to that even more directly. Check out this colorway of the Nike Air Max 2011 with grey on the breathable upper and vibrant Total Orange on the Air unit and underlying mesh layer. Nike always repeats itself in terms of colorways, so we can surely expect a grey and varsity royal colorway to match the trio of grey patent-leather Air Max LeBron VII colorways that dropped a few months back. Continue on for a detailed look and cop this size 10 sample pair from cigar0330 on eBay.
