damn. good thing i don't live in singapore. haha. but if he tried to keep these deadstock (idk if he did, but the sticker still being on the XVIIIs is kinda…idk about that) then he deserved this!
HEY GUESS WAT EVERYBODY!!!!! FIRST FIRST FIRST IM COOLER THAN YOU!! hahahahaaha im cool and ur gay because im first. ok get it got it good lmao. now back to the pics. JUST SAD!!!!!!!!!
ehh who really cares? Who rocks Jays anymore anyway? I say "HAHAHAH THATS WHAT YOU GET!!" Now, wear your damn shoes instead of keeping them for 20+ years just to say you have em.
How it did happen?! The only time I seen this is when u shrink wrap them! So wat really happen?! Cuz I see the same kicks on YouTube and they don’t look like breadcrumbs hahahahahaha
OH GOD!I bet this dude went into rage when he saw them shoes he mustof been crying I know I would here’s some tips.
1. Keep them away from storage buldings they my hold year shit but in certian situation like heat ^^^^^ espeacailly rain floods your shit can get fucked up trust I know they just hold it for you not pertect it.
2. Keep them im in cold places like a basement so the air can keep the shoes in nice condition.
3. Put them in ziplot bags or containers to block out the air cause the air have carbon dioxide which cause the sneakers to age much faster.
4. Don’t stack them on top of each other it causes the fabric to bend and it would flatin yout sneakers which it’s hard to pop back into shape.
5. Check up find a day or more then a day depends how many sneakers you have to check on them make sure there not cracking or plilling.
the humidity kills the shoes in the southern asia~ no doubts have been living there, know how it is over there. collecting sneakers are impossible in those area.
hahahahahahaha~ i love the last word, wear the shoes before it is too late!! nice!!! but what if i got too many shoes to wear?! cant make the cycle run fast enuf but the shoes died already… still sad
Vacuum sealing, silica gel packs, and these resealable storage bags can't be good for storing sneakers.
The midsoles and outsoles are made up of what is essentially plastic, styrofoam, and/or rubber. If you keep them away from air, they are going to dry up. The silica gel packs are going to remove the moisture and dry them up faster.
And don't buy them if you don't plan to wear them. Especially if you're going to buy a sneaker that was made 10-20 years ago for an insane price and you're going to put an already old shoe in a bag that is going to help dry the soles, rot the leather, and just make the shoes stink.
We've already seen the damage that collectors have had to their shoes from trying to preserve them while having the opposite results happen.
Sneakernews this has nothing to do with heat or humidity…for the last time people…ROCK YOUR KICKS! Why keep a kick on ice for five years so you can break knecks for a few hours.
You keep them on dead stock cause one day they might stop manufacturing the shoe cause alot of these sneakers up there came out in the mid eighties tell the mid nindies and they didn’t bring them back intell around like “03″ so they may be bring them back now but one day they going to stop saling the retro and it would cost more to buy the one’s that are left so when they do stop saling them everybody else have would have to break bank to buy and find these shoes you still have some and don’t have to worry about where I’m gonna find it, is there anymore left, oh thats to exspencive, you just be chilling with your pair sneakers people would be bagging to buy five year down the line
It won't prevent it from happening, but there are ways people store their sneakers that end up aging them faster instead of slower.
I'm not an expert on preservation, but I recommend people not try to store their shoes in these insane ways and only buy them if they plan to actually wear them. That way you don't store them for years in a bag, pull them out stinking and crumbling having hasted a lot of money.
The part that was dissolved was made of a weak foam from the 80s. Weak material + strong climate = Deadstocked Drama…. (if you deadstock kicks now, they would have a better chance of survival due to better soles)
Whoever that is does NOT know how to store sneakers. For a pair of xvii's to be like that, there's a problem. Saran Wrap = FAIL. People need to learn that.
I'm sorry for your loss. Dear JB please re-retro the AJ cement IV those are my favorite Js of all time! I copped them in 99 and wore them until they got stolen fm my apt.
All you guys saying he stored it wrong, LISTEN UP!!!
THE DUDE DIDNT WRONGLY STORE HIS KICKS… HE IS ONLY LIVING IN THE WRONG PLACE FOR COLLECTING KICKS.
I am from Malaysia (next to Singapore) and I been collecting kicks for over 12 years now… This has happend to my kicks even when they were kept in the darkest place in my house. Unless you have air conditioning running 24/7 this will happen to your shoes in 7-8 years in South East Asia.
The year round summer heat everyday will kill any shoe. Shoes were just not made to withstand such conditions on a long term basis. Dont talk about shoes but even the cars from the States and Europe CANNOT withstand the heat.
Nevermind Singapore. That happened in NYC to my OG Bo Jacksons. (Orange/White/Gray). I rocked them to the All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium… fell apart on my feet. crumbled. worst day ever.
LMAO!!!!! HAHAHAHA DUMBASS I BET YOULL ROCK YOUR KICKZ NOW!! NOT ONLY HE STOCKED THEM THATS ALSO WHAT HAPPENS WHEN U SARAN WRAP YOUR SHIT!!!!! SERVED KID!!!
