When you’ve already up and changed the game by going to a cutting edge Flywire-equipped lowtop sneaker instead of the mids and highs that have dominated basketball for decades, what more can you do? That’s the problem facing Nike Basketball and the Nike Zoom Kobe series. Kobe’s been a champion as long as the ZKs have been lowcut, so it looks like they’ll keep that trend and move further in the direction of textured uppers for the latest followup. The Nike Zoom Kobe VI is quite possibly the most highly textured sneaker intended for performance basketball use, ever. In these new teasers, you can see a black and yellow pair that’s completely covered in a scaley texture that, while totally unlike the real black mamba, suits Kobe’s nickname quite well. Click the jump below for more shots of the Zoom Kobe VI and let us know what you think. via Kenlu

Ugly. Lebron 8s are better which is very sad.
August 24th, 2010 at 1:12 pm
Interesting.
August 24th, 2010 at 1:14 pm
Now that looks like the signature shoe! Dope! The black mamba skin adds a nice touch.

any flywire technology on these babies?
August 24th, 2010 at 1:16 pm
I understand that the IVs and Vs perform well but it's just like the same shoe repeated. These are like the same shoe with a slightly altered sole and upper. Say what you will about the Lebron line but atleast they try new things.
August 24th, 2010 at 1:23 pm
it's like the shoe got the chicken pocks!
August 24th, 2010 at 1:28 pm

August 24th, 2010 at 3:14 pm

NIKE AND KOBE ARE ALWAYS UPPING THE PERFORMANCE SHOE GAME, THEY ARE NOT THE SAME SHOES AND THE VI'S WILL BE DIFFERENT ASWELL, QUIT HATING. LEBRONS SHOES LOOK LIKE SHIT
August 24th, 2010 at 4:01 pm

August 24th, 2010 at 6:07 pm

August 24th, 2010 at 6:09 pm
wow you sir are a dumbass
August 24th, 2010 at 7:21 pm
has any1 felt the LEBRON 8's? they are really light and they look great too, i thnk they definitely look better, while the kobe line seems to be slipping in the looks department. the only way i would wear a snake skin texture shoe if its as light as a football cleat.
August 24th, 2010 at 7:51 pm
How many times can you come out with the same shoe over and over again?
August 24th, 2010 at 10:24 pm
Kobe's shoes arent' going anywhere design-wise– that's why only the materials change. they should hold a competition (like future sole — Melo) for the kobe VI.
August 24th, 2010 at 10:47 pm
these look exactly the same as kobe 5's. lame
August 24th, 2010 at 10:52 pm
First of all STFU, Second of all I got the IVs and Vs which is why I said they perform well but it's the same silouhette on the shoes so think about what you sayin before you start talkin' out yo ass.
August 24th, 2010 at 11:18 pm
kobe doesnt want nike to come up with new designs for his shoe, he knows anything they come up with isnt gonna look as cool as any of the numbered jordans thats why he tells nike to create the best performing basketball shoe possible, slap a nike sign on that bitch and we straight. lebron on the other hand thinks he is the next MJ which is why all the lebrons look different and weird as fuck. thats the difference between kobe n lebron, kobe cares most about winning, while lebron cares most about image. there will never be another MJ or a shoe line as good as his, but at least kobe has the same killer instinct that jordan did.
August 24th, 2010 at 11:40 pm
^^^ thats the realest sh*t I never wrote
August 25th, 2010 at 1:16 am
LMAO.. ZK never changes their design. Frankly, it's getting worse..
August 25th, 2010 at 1:27 am
roflwtf first of all, if lebron is so into his image, why do you think he is moved to miami dumass.furthermore, Kobe never had same killer instinct that jordan had and never ever will be so either take that kobe cuck out of your mouth or gtfo with it. it stinks and you don't have to shout out here to tell us that you're an obvious kb dikryder. dikryders like you need to learn how to think first before talk shyt
August 25th, 2010 at 4:19 am
I totally agree with u bro, same shilouette. but these look totally radical with the new material on the upper.
August 25th, 2010 at 5:39 am
ugly…..shit looks like some reject lunars that are on nikes "maybe" list.
August 25th, 2010 at 8:22 am
Possible fuse technology
August 25th, 2010 at 8:31 am
I like them. Curious to see how they perform.
August 25th, 2010 at 5:54 pm
I think this is gonna be one hot sneaker. colorways are gonna be bananas. doubt people will wear them casually in nyc though, just like the current V's. I have a pair, and plan on getting another. they play nice on the court… real nice.
August 27th, 2010 at 11:12 pm
if these drop the way they are in the pic…. im there first day, with money for two maybe three pairs!
August 28th, 2010 at 1:41 pm
I hope they do a little bit more with the design. The Hyperdunk 2010's look like a simple hi-cut version of the ZKV and now the ZKVI kinda looks like a low-cut version of the Hyperdunk 2010's with a snakeskin material. Seems like the designers ran out of ideas and took a take a step back and copied a shoe that copied the previous Kobe shoe! I'm keeping the faith that these will look a bit better than what I see in these pics once they release in 2011. No doubt these will perform on the court.
August 29th, 2010 at 10:17 pm
for the outsole, why not put kobe's signature underneath it, i mean it could be the design of the outsole aside from kobe's logo….
