“Dwight Howard is a beast.” That’s probably the single most common expression uttered in regards to the Orlando Magic center since he was drafted first overall in 2004 as the last straight-from-high-school #1. Young Dwight’s soft spoken demeanor belied his burgeoning cannonball shoulders, and Howard has emerged as one of the league’s elite over these past few years. Fitting, then, that D-12′s new adidas Basketball signature is dubbed the adidas TS Beast, the sequel to last year’s TS Supernatural Commander. The first colorway is a do-it-all for the Magic, with a simple sapphire and white colorway adding just a touch of metallic silver for a little pop. Check out more shots after the jump and look for these to hit retailers just after Christmas on December 28th at retailers like Foot Locker.

This is why Adidas continues to trail way behind Nike…the shoe looks just like the old Supernatural Commanders blended with a little bit of Promodel. It's a neat shoe but not something you could call a signature shoe. If they feel like the Supernaturals on the court these are great shoes to ball in but designers need to push the envelop a bit more to really make their shoes stand out…I guess they're still sufferring from the trauma of the Kobe II.

Nike seems to set the standard all other shoe manufacturers try to follow. Adidas seems content on following right now rather than coming up with innovative models that really "wow" the general basketball shoe wearing public. Don't get me wrong, the Supernatural Commanders are a great shoe and really comfortable to play on the court but they lack that little extra something special. The designers of Adidas seem to be playing safe with their shoe designs lately. Nike takes risks…some work out some bomb but at least they take that risk. Adidas needs to risk more to gain more and once they do that I think things will turn to their favor. I really loved the Kobe 1 and the previous shoes they made for him while he was with the 3 stripes…bring back more of those designs!

jordanaire-what does pushing the envelope mean? I agree with Mike that there is a double standard hell a triple standard. if it isn't jordan or nike then it is all garbage. i'm not saying these are all that but what makes a stand out shoe? it's real easy for all of us to hide behind our computers and flame but what can we do to make those fools listen and bring the hotness? I say adidas needs their own flywire or zoom to compete.
