Time heals all, does it not? In an effort to promote his new movie, Chris Brown was one of the guests on BET’s 106 & Park, and during the show he, along with Takers co-star Idris Elba, did their best to pitch their new action/crime flick. Chris Brown wore a pair of the Nike SB x Eric Koston Dunk High ‘Thai Temple”, one of the better SBs in recent memory, although his strange outfit was one to forget. Along with the kicks, Brown wore cut-off denim shorts with a red/black lumberjack-print cardigan. Additionally Idris Elba and J.Cole also stopped by the show wearing the Nike Toki and Oncore High respectively (as well as normal outifts). Check out this latest celebrity feet segment and let us know know which star stole the show.

Here’s a sneaker we hope makes it to stateside retailers with the quickness cos they’re a perfect look for the warm summer months. This new Nike Air Max 90 has a bit of the old school Sprite-can look to it with white sections offering strong contrasts against bold royal blue and kelly green sections. It’s particularly interesting to see how those two accent shades are mixed together along the eyelets and on the mudguard logo, with just a little grey swooping around the front of the shoe to add some balance. Check out more shots of these AM90s and stick with Sneaker News for word on a US release. via Titolo

Just over one year ago, the Nike Lunar Mariah TZ released in a trio of blacked-out editions with speckled soles. Back to 2010 and here’s another Lunar Mariah with an all black upper and royal blue on the sole, but a couple of key changes make these a must buy, even for those who managed to get the Tier Zero joints. First off, the sole isn’t speckled, so you get to maximize the two-toned look that’s so hot at the moment. Second off, the LunarLon composite material that cushions these new Lunar Mariahs is superior to the previous generation LunarLite, so these are an even smoother featherweight ride. Checkout more shots after the jump and grab a pair today from Shaolin8 on eBay.

The name ‘J-Pack’ had its inception when a a Nike SB Dunk Low Pro released in a colorway and blocking pattern identical to the OG Varsity Royal Air Jordan 1. The Jordan Pack look is a natural for pretty much every shoe given the Air Jordan’s huge impact on sneaker culture, and with its ’80s basketball aesthetic, it’s a perfect fit for the Nike Air Flytop. These go a step past previous AJ1-inspired looks with their use of a pearlized finish that’s reminiscent of the bevy of Foamposite (-inspired) releases of late. We let you know when the blue joints popped up at retailers earlier this month so check out more shots of the Jordan Pack Flytops and stick with Sneaker News for updates on red pair’s release date. via Dunk

September means everybody’s officially back in school and Nike SB has a solid set of footwear releases on deck to keep your studies fresh. Five major drops are pictured above, so let’s start with the one without whom this entire collection might not be possible, the Nike SB Dunk Low. The September ’10 Dunk Low features a Halloweeny colorscheme with a unique piping on the rear quarter panel. Also coming in an appropriately autumnal colorway is the Omar Salazar in Urban Haze. Moving counter-clockwise and along the earthy side of things is the ever-clean Stefan Janoski in grey with a white Swooosh, something it shares with the University Blue Bruins that also just hit. Last but not least, a red V-Rod for your vulc-soled needs, and you can see photos of all of these after the jump.

The Reebok Pump Omni Lite will forever be remembered as ‘the Dee Browns’, but some Reebok afficionados think the other Omni Pump was better. Solebox respects the Reebok Pump Omni Zone enough to create a lightup collabo version, and here’s the first colorway of what could potentially be an extended retro run. This Pump Omni Zone takes a page from the Air Jordan 1 with its black, royal blue and white colorway, finished off with a dope zig-zag sockliner. Check out more images after the jump and grab yours today from TGWO.

The Gourmet Quattro is quite possibly the boutique brand’s flagship model. Its first edition was heavily influenced by the Air Jordan XII, with the revised model only vaguely similar to the AJXII. And that makes the Gourmet Quattro Skate something of a simulacra, a simulation of a simulation of an Air Jordan that suddenly looks more like a plimsoll. The back end outline of the Twelve’s ‘rising sun’ marks the beginning of a suede toe, double stitched for durability. Pairs in navy blue, black and white each feature tonal leather on the hindfoot and white soles, and all of them are available from select retailers and the Gourmet e-store.

Big Boi took a visit to the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York City for a guest-spot on the David Letterman Show to chat and promote his new solo album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. Big Boi showed up to the taping repping his hometown by wearing an Atlanta Braves New Era 59FIFTY fitted cap, an Outkast t-shirt, and a pair of the Nike Air Max 95 in the Cool Mint colorway that released last year (and again this year). Big Boi’s jokester personality came through as he posed for pictures doing his best Karate Kid impression. Big Boi’s been seen around with a bunch of Nikes and he even has a special pair of the Converse Chuck Taylor coming out, so check out the extra shots and let us know what you think of Big Boi’s latest sneaker selection.

The Jordan Sky High was one big branding experiment, as it was the first Jordan shoe to feature a Jumpman not on a tongue and the second shoe to features a Swoosh. Like the Air Jordan AJKO of earlier this year, these canvas uppered original silhouettes should be a hit for OG heads yearning for lapses of nostalgia or the younger Jordan crowd looking for another original model to rock. Take a look at the extra detailed shots after the jump and see what you think, because these are starting to hit select U.S. retailers such as Premier, or grab yours now on eBay.

Looking back at the commercials for the Air Jordan 1 – Air Jordan VIII, we can clearly see a change in the overall mission of the Jordan marketing campaign. The Air Jordan IX began with Michael Jordan’s abrupt retirement to the game, and we received a satirical approach to MJ’s decision in which Jordan disguised himself to play basketball in other leagues. For the Air Jordan XI, Jordan flew effortlessly to a 100-foot rim but found himself in a tough situation. But the Air Jordan XII marks a swift change in the direction of Air Jordan commercials, as the ads presented a more serious undertone in which Jordan himself speaks about his failure. Take a look at Part 2 of the History of Air Jordan Commercials, as Sneaker News outlines the advertisements for Air Jordan IX through XVI.
