Air Jordan XIV (14) Mitch Richmond 1999 PE

Even during Michael Jordan’s playing does, other stars were rocking Jordans too. Mitch Richmond, best known for his sharp-shooting and proficient scoring for the Sacramento Kings, has worn Air Jordans from time to time; one notable instance was the Air Jordan IX PE he wore during the ’94 Playoffs (Jordan was retired at that point), but he also received some more PE love during his days as a Washington Wizard. This Air Jordan XIV PE features identical color-blocking to the Air Jordan XIV ‘Indiglo’ but with blue and red trim on the tongue, heeltab, and Jordan badge on the upper. These could be a colorway for the throwback Bullets uniforms but this pair is deadstock, so it seems Richmond never found an opportunity to wear them. Continue reading for a gallery of images and pick up this collectible pair of Jordans from SoleSupremacy on eBay.

History of Air Jordan Commercials Part 1

In today’s generation, the Air Jordan is a product that sells itself, with a brand logo recognized worldwide and a name familiar to anyone who’s ever called him/herself as a fan of the game. But when the Air Jordan line first began, Nike embarked on a marketing strategy that touch on all different corners of human emotion – admiration, envy, jealousy – utilizing a number of different attack routes. We all remember Spike Lee’s incessant repetition of phrases, Looney Tunes character cameos, or even the simpler ones needed nothing more than Jordan shooting some hoops with a soundtrack emanating a “cool” vibe. Here’s a look back at the first commercials for the Air Jordan Legacy, beginning with Michael Jordan’s banned shoe, the Air Jordan 1, and ending with Jordan questioning himself while warming up with the Air Jordan VIII; the evolution of Nike’s marketing strategy has changed as Jordan went from up-and-coming star to championship player. Let us know what you think of the progression of the Air Jordan commercials and tell us which is your favorite ad.

Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke by Nike Harajuku

The Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke Experience hit Nike Harajuku in Japan for for a four day span in mid July. How could they not make a pair for themselves? The midsole is a solid olive/brown with a dark brown bottom sole. These are easily one of the most animalistic Bespoke concepts we’ve seen, so check out the extra images after the jump and let us know what you think of the design.

EA Sports x Nike Trainer 1.2 Mid Pack Detailed Images

The recent EA Sports x Nike Trainer 1.2 collaboration featured the two upcoming EA Sports football simulation games as well as two big-name pro-athletes in Drew Brees and Tim Tebow. Both colorways flew off the shelves upon release and those who were fortunate enough to get their hands on a pair were very much pleased with the attention to detail allotted to each shoe. Here’s a look at a special EA Sports x Nike packaging that features the covers of the upcoming EA Sports franchise video games; Superbowl MVP Drew Brees and Heisman winner Tim Tebow were selected as the coverboys of the videogames and now you can see them on this limited edition packaging. The boxes are not a conventional Nike shoe-box but rather a slide-out construction – think half a Jordan CDP box. This commemorative packaging was not included in the regular release but were given to friends and family of Nike, but this is one extravagance that everyone would love to see. Check out the extra shots of the special packaging as well as the shoes after the jump and let us know which box – or game – is MVP!

Nike Air Go LWP Wolf Grey Black | October 2010

In mid-June Sneaker News gave you a heads up on a re-release of the mid-90′s basketball classic, the Nike Air Go LWP. Here’s a look at an upcoming Wolf Grey/Black colorway, headed for an October 2010 Release; the upper features a mix of the black synthetic leather and a grey nubuck material with a trail-inspired black/white laces. The Air Go LWP was one of the lightest Nike Basketball shoes to date and features a cushioning system that would later be called Zoom. This particular colorway is a new one but hopefully we will see the re-release of the OG white/blue and black/white/blue or even the white/red or white/teal joints. Check out the extra shots after the jump and let us know what you think of this colorway, an expect these to hit Nike Basketball retailers like EastBay in October.

Gourmet Uno D Ring Fall 2010 Colorways

Gourmet was infamous in their early days for offering lifestyle-oriented designs that bear more than a passing resemblance to some prominent members of the Air Jordan Legacy.  Models mimicking the Air Jordan VII and AJXII took on new shapes as Jon Buscemi and company cleaned up their designs and looked to establish their own identity, but the Gourmet Uno has kept its unmistakable Huarache-style ankle cutouts.  They’re filled in with premium leather on the D-Ring Unos, three pairs of which all feature black midsoles and gum rubber outsoles.  Check out pairs in dark green, brown and black after the jump and look for them at select retailers or the Gourmet e-store.
