LeBron James’ Nikes have come out in a ton of amazing colorways and themes over the years, but here’s a pair that’s high on the list of what-could-have-beens. The Nike Air Max LeBron VII Heroes Pack included shout outs to Michael Jordan and the Air Jordan XI, Penny Hardaway and the Air Penny 1 and Deion Sanders in the colorway just retroed on the Air Diamond Turf. The Deion AML7s are candy red and black with just a hint of gold for the 49ers and a gridiron insole to complete the theme. Check out more shots after the jump and grab a pair of these elusive samples from kh00712 on eBay cos you won’t be able to get a pair anywhere else.

The Street Fighter x Nike SB Dunk Pack might’ve taken the crown as the ‘dorkiest’ Nike SB collaboration to date, but there’s no denying that sneakerheads of all ages are at the very least intrigued by this concept. Here’s a look at the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Chun Li’ of the Street Fighter Pack; the colorway matches Chun Li’s famous uniform that has weathered through numerous sequels and rehashings over the years, sporting a light blue suede and nylon upper with gold contrast stitching, a black inner lining, a white canvas swoosh, and a gum sole. Perhaps some lace-locks in the shape of her trademark hair-buns would’ve been a fun touch, but we get a great insole graphic of ‘The Strongest Woman In The World’ about to kick the bejeezus out of her opponent. These just dropped at KicksCrew so go ahead and jump up and down while laughing, throw up a peace sign, and scream out “YAH-TAH!” because you can now cop these for your collection.

The last Air Jordan birthday cake we showed you set the bar astoundingly high, and while an interesting choice of subject, this new sneaker pastry falls just a tad short in comparison. Maybe an understatement, but an ‘A’ for effort, nonetheless. Inspired by the Air Jordan V ‘Green Bean’ release from a few years ago, this new birthday cake was created for Joey, an apparent Jordan fan, although the accuracy and precision behind the execution of this cake does not quite measure up to the Air Jordan XI Bred Birthday Cake, which Sneaker News readers deemed the best birthday cake made thus far. We’d like to hear your opinions on this cake, so continue reading for a side-by-side shot with the cake and the actual shoe and let us know what you think.

The ongoing collaboration between Japanese streetwear brand WTAPS and Vans Syndicate is so successful, one of their new designs was chosen for the recent Christian Hosoi x Vans pack. The WTAPS x Vans Syndicate Bash ‘S’ is back again, having popped up at the ASR Market Place 2010 show in some simple new colorways for Spring 2011. Pairs in white or black both mix leather and suede to get a tonal effect, with both pairs riding Vans’ classic black-on-white waffle soles. We saw the updated Nike Trainer SC 2010 release earlier this year in a Bo Jackson/Albert Pujols-inspired edition that looked quite a bit like a first baseman’s mit. Similarly accurate in its representation of the NFL’s pigskin is this EA Sports x Nike Trainer 1.2 Mid Madden NFL 11 edition. Done entirely in a range of browns, these gridiron-inspired Trainer 1.2s are adorned with EA Sports and Madden 11 logos, plus a play diagram that the New Orleans Saints used en route to a touchdown in the most recent Super Bowl. Check out more shots after the jump and if you’re ready for some football (-inspired trainers), grab a pair today from JBseller on eBay.

White-on-white K-Swiss lowtops are an American classic. They’re never too far away from being ultra-popular and while you’ll never see them overtake Nike Air for athletic performance, you only need to wait a little while or head to a new region to find they’re hip all over again. Check out the latest episode of Jake Davis Test Shots with NY-based stylist Josh Peskowitz, who explains that stuff like white K-Swiss are classics because they’ve been purified in the crucible of time. Nike has parterned up with Foot Locker – perhaps the most well known sneaker retailer of our generation – to produce an exclusive pair of the Nike Air Max 90, featuring a mix of vibrant colors that should have trainer fans excited. Trainer? Yes, because these will be exclusive to Foot Locker locations in Europe, where Air Max runners are dubbed ‘trainers’. Featuring a mix of white, grey, black, purple, neon green, and hot red, this Foot Locker x Air Max 90 just released across the pond yesterday. A stateside release has not been confirmed at the moment but stick with Sneaker News and we’ll keep you updated regarding this release.

The New Balance CM998 is a staple model for the Boston-based company, but not on the level of your 574/576 or 580s. 998s come along even less frequently than 1500s, but this new pair done in collaboration with LEXUSVII was worth the wait. Appearing in a Timberland-like motif, these NEXUSVII x New Balance CM998s are constructed in tan suede with hiking/workboot laces and a leather sockliner to complete the rugged look. Check out more shots after the jump and work on your overseas connects cos the August 17th drop looks to be a Japanese exclusive. via Tokishirazu

adidas Equipment was a major part of Three Stripes’ 1990s marketing efforts and the adidas EQT basketball line has been celebrated in a number of retro and collaborative releases. The EQT’s running forebears had been all but forgotten until now, with the adidas Equipment Support making a comeback. The ‘Now and Then Pack’ is slated for a December 2010 release right about 20 years after the OG white/green/grey/black joints hit back in ’91, featuring a trio of new colorups to spice up the mix. Chicago-based artist Cody Hudson has seen his work exhibited in Europe and Asia, but this new collaboration with Converse is 100% grade-A all American. The Cody Hudson x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star pictured above is part of the ongoing PRODUCT (RED) capsule whose proceeds go to fight AIDS in Africa. You might find Cody’s Chucks similar to other Converse collaborators’, specifically John Varvatos, but the inclusion of an intricate polygonal stamp on the lateral ankle area makes these unique. Check out more shots after the jump and look for these at select Converse retailers. via ST
