Another seven days of great kicks were dropped in the Sneaker News Blogs: WDYWT section, and although summer’s coming to a close, it seems to be getting hotter and hotter! Customs, unreleased samples, classic Nike basketball, Air Max heat, and a lot more took part in the Best of WDYWT for 8/24-8/30; one user sported a LeBron sample per day while another familiar face (or foot, we should say) brought out some classic Nike basketball. But of course, it’s up to you, the reader, to decide who gets the number 1 spot. Mr. Anonymous took the crown the last two weeks with his Air Force 1 Laser Mark Smith and his Paris SB Dunk Low but is his submission for this week strong enough for a three-peat, or will someone else take the crown? Fabolous along with Ryan Leslie, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Rosa Acosta, Amber Rose, and a number of other celebrities and tastemakers attended this past weekend’s Heineken Inspire Event which was held in Culver City, California – located right outside of Los Angeles. Fabolous, who has been seen wearing a number of recent Air Jordan Retros before their release dates kept it moving with a pair of Air Jordan IX Retro’s in Black and Charcoal, a released scheduled for the upcoming Labor Day Weekend on Saturday, September 4th. Following the concert, the NYC native tweeted a picture of his Charcoal IX’s with his matching Louis Vuitton luggage when he was on his way back to New York. DC Comics is celebrating its 75th Anniversary this year and to help commemorate the impressive milestone, Converse will lend a hand and produce a collection of Chuck Taylors featuring its iconic superheros and supervillains colored up in vintage comic-book style. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Penguin, the Joker, and others are featured in this throwback capsule that is scheduled for a Spring 2011 release. Complex has been pumping out sneaker-related list after list but here’s a Top-50 of just ONE shoe, the Nike Air Max 90. The list features the usual suspects – Infrareds, Pythons, DQM Bacons – but also some pairs that haven’t seen the light of day in a long while – Hot Coral WMNS, tons of JD Exclusives. The Air Max 90 is one shoe in which the general releases hold weight on par with the rare collabs and limited releases so the list itself covers a wide range. adidas Originals’ new Crafts Pack is everything that’s good about a pack of sneakers.  With the quartet of kicks in the Crafts Pack, you get the same premium materials across each pair, but they’re executed differently and each features a different primary colored sockliner.  First up is the adidas Superstar shelltoe, which goes with a red lining for a nice subtle pop.  The Sambas feature considerably more canvas than the Superstars and their black sockliner is the one that stands out the least in this foursome.  The Stan Smiths wouldn’t have been right without a green lining and a Forum Mid completes the set with a hint of blue.  Check out more shots after the jump and look for these at select adidas Originals retailers like Japan’s mita sneakers.

Maharam has been around for nearly 110 years, and while they’ve only been collaborating with Nike Sportswear for the past two or three, the latest offering seems to be stretched out over an unusually long span.  The first Maharam x Nike WMNS Dunk High Skinny Supreme releases dropped all the way back in June, with this new duo of pairs dangerously close to falling into the Holiday 2010 collection.  They’d be fine either way, with these warm yellow and burgundy textile uppers well suited for most of the calendar.  Check out more shots of both pairs after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates on their release.  via Dunk

Wearing Jordans in the snow? What was once deemed an act of heresy is now an acceptable practice thanks to the Air Jordan Spiz’ike Winterized Boot. These originally  released last winter and surely came in handy when trudging through the monstrous blizzards of the last winter season, and let’s hope that we don’t have to put these to use as much this coming Winter 2010 season. The Spiz’ike Boot features all-weather-ready colorways and materials, like the chunky outsole that would have zero problems stomping in a foot of snow and a leather mudguard that laughs in the face of salt-stains. There’s no doubt that the Air Max2 CB ’94 – Barkley’s signature shoe – is one of the most beloved Nike Basketball shoes of all time. Simply put, not one ‘turrible’ colorway exists because the design of the shoe was jaw-dropping at the very least. Back in 2010 is the Black/Varsity Red-White colorway of the Air Max 2 CB ’94; the upper features a mix of black and varsity red with a white midsole – a stark contrast to the recently released all-Ink colorway of the CB ’94 but still a nice colorway nonetheless. The Torsion Special is one of adidas’ classic footwear silhouettes from its storied catalogue and arriving in October is a high-top version that looks ready to take on any terrain, smooth or rugged. The adidas Torsion Special High features the Torsion Special design but features an elongated ankle with three extra D-ring laceholes on each side, giving the shoe the perfect construction for the trail or even as a general winterized option. adidas’ adiZero collection has historically seen running and later soccer shoes released under its umbrella, but here’s an upcoming basketball signature that owns that same distinction.  The adidas adiZero Rose is Chicago Bulls 1 Derrick Rose’s sig for the upcoming NBA season, a look that has undergone some changes since we previewed a model dubbed the adiZero TS Creator back in April.  That shoe never hit retail and these bear more than a passing resemblance, with the ankle strap now gone and replaced by a huarache-like support.  This first pair comes in the immortal Bred colorway and will available at select retailers including Foot Locker right before the NBA season starts, on October 22nd.

This past year will go down in fashion history for its use of ‘all black everything’, but grey has played an equally huge role in the post-recession fashion world.  Grey softens high contrasts and might be the ‘cleanest’ color other than white, and we all know how amazing a range of greys looks on the Nike Air Max 95.  This one goes a bit further than normal, sticking with a mix of silver and greys all the way down to Anthracite without a speck of ‘color’ to be seen.  It’s a simple concept on paper but turns out to be one of the hottest AM95s in recent memory, and they’re available exclusively from Britain’s JD Sports.

‘Air Jordan’ and ‘Hallowed Ground’ is a connection that can be easily made; whether it was his NCAA Championship winning performance for the Tar Heels or his six titles on the United Center hardwood, everywhere Jordan goes, success follows – in one way or another. Here’s a look at the low-top version of the Air Jordan Hallowed Ground; not much has changed on the upper design but the heel is stripped clean and features a stitched-on ’23′ a-la the Air Jordan IX.
