Rarely will you come across a pair of the Air Jordan VI Original in September Blue and with the Air Jordan VI Retro of 2010 come and gone, it doesn’t look like we’ll receive a pair anytime soon. One Jordan fanatic took matters into his own hands by transforming a pair of the Air Jordan VI White/Varsity Red into the close replica of the OG September Blue joints, and the results proved that this low-risk/high-reward experiment paid dividends in the end. Gonzo4of9 of UTA Forums did a simple tape job and painted over the Varsity Red midsole with a shade of blue that is comparable to the original September blue (is it a coincidence that he did this in…September?) and also painted over the strip on the heel ‘spoiler’ but left the Jumpman on the bottom sole alone – the paint wouldn’t last one wear anyway. Overall, job well done. We’ve seen conversions of Varsity Red to Infrared as well, but which do you think is better? Continue reading for a detailed look at this custom and let us know what you think of the results.

September 13th, 2010 at 6:22 pm
yo im gettin confused man i herd about september blues but when i look it up it always shows me the midnight 6s is september blue jus another name for the midnights ???
September 13th, 2010 at 6:25 pm
really good
September 13th, 2010 at 6:37 pm
Best thing to do is to wait for the 25th aniversary edition of the 6s to do this colorway and others like the navy blue olimpic 6s.
September 13th, 2010 at 6:39 pm
i knew someone would do this eventually. it looks nice tho. good job
September 13th, 2010 at 6:40 pm
Is it a coincidence that the name of the color is really "Sport Blue" and that doing this custom in September has no relevance to the shoe whatsoever?? (I know September Blue is a nickname, but c'mon!)
September 13th, 2010 at 6:50 pm
No the Sport Blue aka September Blue is an OG Jordan VI colorway that has not ever been retro'd. Just google Jordan 6 September Blue
September 13th, 2010 at 6:56 pm
It would be awfully hard to come by an original pair of "September" Blues because there is no such colorway. Now original "SPORT" Blues is another story. Check the o.g. catalog scans.
September 13th, 2010 at 6:59 pm
I wonder what he did to get rid of the red Jumpman on the tongue.
September 13th, 2010 at 7:07 pm
fail……….the red was not prepped and stripped…these will crack off with ease.
September 13th, 2010 at 7:07 pm
Very nice!!! Who cares if anyone think they're fake, you know that they are real and what you did to them and that's all that matters. Great job indeed though.
September 13th, 2010 at 7:43 pm
they need to release this colorway
September 13th, 2010 at 7:44 pm
Dope. Good job.
September 13th, 2010 at 7:57 pm
I have to agree.
I like the effort, but a scuff/prep wouldve made a BIG difference.
September 13th, 2010 at 8:03 pm
simply gorgeous. i hope they retro this colorway soon, im sure it would make a lot of people happy.
September 13th, 2010 at 8:48 pm
no they are real jays he just cahnged the color like when people customize they jays. people change the color stiching etc on they jays all the time. i changed the purple and yellow stitching on the 6's to black
September 13th, 2010 at 9:01 pm
these look better then the september blue 6's
September 13th, 2010 at 9:05 pm
Touqhh !!
September 13th, 2010 at 9:12 pm
i swear to god imo thats has to be the best custom i ever fucking seen in my life i would cop a pair from him no faking
September 13th, 2010 at 9:27 pm
If only there was some way to make the Jordan in the middle blue..then you would be able to play it off with somebody that knows their sneakers. But if there isn't, that's a easy point out for somebody just trying to be an asshole. :/
September 13th, 2010 at 9:41 pm
Anyone know the best tools to use for a custom job? Markers, paint, etc? I've got a pair of all white 4's that I'm looking to change.
Nice job on these 6's by the way!!
September 13th, 2010 at 10:15 pm
The results turned out Great! I'm pretty it wasn't easy to put that tape on and wait for the paint to dry. The shoes look FRE$H after the blue-paint dried off. Nice Job!
September 13th, 2010 at 11:23 pm
idc what people would say, id rock those customs any day.
September 13th, 2010 at 11:38 pm
this is why you need to stay in school….
September 14th, 2010 at 12:40 am

September 14th, 2010 at 12:43 am
how long does the paint stay on?? And this RANDOM DUDE X JORDAN collabo is dope!
September 14th, 2010 at 12:43 am
How and what did he do to the stitched jumpman? If I did it I'd have to go balls out with a pair of infrareds so the airbag would match up (not to mention better leather)…nice job!
September 14th, 2010 at 12:50 am
well actually they did retro a similar pair of the september blues in 2000. although the color shade was a little darker, i thiink they called it midnight navy____and im not talking bout the 2000 olys
September 14th, 2010 at 1:04 am
what brand paint did he use??
September 14th, 2010 at 1:06 am
what kind of paint is he using anyone know?
September 14th, 2010 at 1:38 am
The OG colorway was SPORT blue not September blue.. You would think a Sneaker website would know the little things like that…
September 14th, 2010 at 2:10 am
read and understand the statement before you reply please and like superdoode said, STAY IN SCHOOL.
September 14th, 2010 at 2:24 am
job well done
September 14th, 2010 at 4:30 am
but its still not official tho
September 14th, 2010 at 8:09 am
IT'S SPORT BLUE PEOPLE, NOT SEPTEMBER BLUE?
How many times does it need to be said???
September 14th, 2010 at 10:36 am
fool they are releasing 25th anniversaries of every nummbered shoe
September 14th, 2010 at 10:53 am
I was thinking the same thing but he still did his thing. I think if he stripped the color or put on a white primer and that would have made that blue pop even more. The stiching on the jumpman is blue and that probrably wasn't easy to do.
September 14th, 2010 at 12:16 pm
and you snapped. them joints was fresh.
September 14th, 2010 at 12:57 pm
The paint he used is shown on the forum listed in the article. The brand is Amsterdam Acrylic.
September 14th, 2010 at 2:06 pm

September 14th, 2010 at 4:24 pm
Way to Dark bro..Add some white and it may come out better.
If the color is due to the lighting sorry.
September 15th, 2010 at 1:14 am
THE OG COLORWAY was September blue, people. You log onto this site everyday. Come on, give these guys a little credit. Aaron Kr. knows his stuff. He's a Syracuse grad for crap sake!!
September 15th, 2010 at 1:33 am
On the box it was "White/Sptblu-Black.” so who knows… I have yet to find the catalog where it says "Sport Blue"

September 16th, 2010 at 4:17 am

June 4th, 2011 at 5:24 am
How do you change the stitching, how do you think he changed the jumpman from red to blue?
