When Michael Jordan made his name at the University of North Carolina Tar Heels, UNC was playing their home games at the Carmichael Arena on campus in Chapel Hill. The building has changed to only house women’s games with men’s at the Dean Smith Center, and the shoe to whom the arena had lent its name has now pulled a similar switcheroo. The shoe is pretty much exactly the same, but the new name for the above pictured Jordan Brand basketball sneaker is the Jordan Pure J. Featuring a swooping, angular design, these could be seen somewhere between Air Jordans VI and XXII. But even that’s a bit of a stretch, with the Carmichael Pure J offering up an aggressive look all its own. Check out some new images after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates on the upcoming Pure J releases.

jumpman have never been jordan strong point, but with the new direction jordans have been taking, style is no longer the pursuit of the sneaker just the overall structure and the security that it gives your feet. the lace system slightly reminds of addias crazy 8, but it looks as the sneaker uses the materials drawn from the retro 2's. in any case the sneaker a decent looking one and seem to be comfortable and very bracing, but i dnt think there decent looking, aesthetically
