Last year Asics teamed up with Nice Kicks to create a pair of the Gel Lyte III inspired by the site’s logo. The result was a tonal red upper with hints of white and grey, a stark contrast to Nice Kicks’ second go-around with Asics. Here’s a look at the second collaboration between Asics and the sneaker website; a tonal grey suede upper is paired with a classic white midsole and a grey outsole. The first release was limited to just 250 pairs and this upcoming October 1st release will likely follow suit, so take a second look at the Nice Kicks x Asics Gel Lyte III after the jump and let us know what you think of the colorway.

The early Huarache TR Mid colorways are inspired by Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald and his storied football past, and this color-combo is a tribute to Fitzgerald’s days as a Minnesota Vikings ballboy. That’s right; before Larry was catching passes (11 catches for 172 yards in his only trip to MIN, by the way), he was taking notes from Cris Carter and Randy Moss while retrieving loose balls on the sideline. Here’s a look at a new colorway of the Zoom Huarache TR Mid; it features an upper of white leather on the toe, a tumbled leather upper in netural grey with a similarly colored inner boot, a varsity purple swoosh, midsole, and inner liner, and just enough varsity maize on the bottom sole to capture the Minnesota Vikings uniform colorways. We should expect more colorways of the Zoom Huarache TR Mid in the coming months so stick with Sneaker News for more info and pick up the ‘Vikings’ Huarache TR from ID4shoes on eBay.

It’s going to be a hot summer, and we’re not talking about the weather. Sneaker News recently gave you a big heads up on what to expect next Summer in terms or Jordan, but the Nike side of things isn’t too shabby. Let’s start with the notables, like the return of the Nike Air Griffey Max II in two colorways – one being the OG – as well as another retro of the Nike Air Trainer Max ’94. The recently confirmed release of the Air Trainer SC II is further solidified with the black/red/white colorway, and we get a look at two more colorways of the Nike Air Max CB 34 as well as a ‘Cool Grey’ Air Max Penny.
Other notables include a Lunar-cushioned version of the Air Max Solas (presumably titled the Lunar Solas) as well as two colorways of the 360 Air and Torch-uppered Air Max Sensation 2011. The recently previewed Nike Air PR1 arrives in a Dunkman-esque colorway as well as a white/gold/black, and we also get a second look at the Nike Air Max JR in the white/chlorine blue colorway. A number of other Nike Running and Nike Sportswear models like the Nike Convention High are set to arrive as well so continue reading for some close-ups of this Nike Summer 2011 Preview and let us know which shoes you’re looking forward to the most, and stay in tune with Sneaker News for more updates regarding these releases.

Decisions, decisions: Here’s another look at the Air Jordan II Retro Black/White that is currently scheduled for an October release; the black/white colorway shows a clear connection to the chocolate-and-cream sandwiched cookie with a black nubuck upper and white bottom sole. The mudguard also features a glossy finish above the pebbled material, and the white lace eyelets, Jordan Wings logo on the tongue, piping on the upper, and Jordan branding on the heel complete the black/white contrast perfectly. There are quite a lot of Air Jordan II varieties to choose from next month; which will be yours? Check out the Black/White Jordan II after the jump and let us know which Jordan II colorway you like best, and stick with Sneaker News for all Air Jordan Retro updates and information.

For you sneakerheads with upcoming birthdays, step your cake game up! A trip down to your local ice-cream parlor for a vanilla and chocolate ice-cream cake ain’t gonna cut it because the new “thing” is sneaker cakes. Up-and-coming movie star Tom Hardy was recently spotted at Vancouver International Airport in Canada this past weekend with his fiance Charlotte Riley. Tom Hardy is best recognized for his role as Eames in the summer blockbuster hit Inception which co-starred Leonardo DiCaprio, who also has a penchant for Nikes and Jordans (he rocked Air Jordan IV Breds back in the day). Hardy didn’t exactly match the heat-level of the Bred IVs but did make an appearance with the noteworthy Nike Air Lunar 180 TZ, the revamped Lunar-cushioned version of the classic Nike Air 180. His role in Inception should do wonders for his career and the increased attention might lead to more celebrity sightings with Nikes! via: Just Jared.

October will be an Air Jordan II frenzy now that Air Jordan II Candy Pack and Air Jordan II Black/White has been confirmed, but here’s a second look at yet another Jordan II October release – one that Sneaker News previewed nearly two months ago. This particular release is for the ladies, as it features a lavender nubuck upper with a deep purple trim on a solid metallic silver midsole – a definite feminine design which is no surprise considering the colorway was hand-selected by Vashtie Kola, the New York-based fashion designer, artist, and trendsetter. This girl’s colorway will release at select Jordan Brand retailers on October 2nd, 2010, so check out the detailed images after the jump and let us know what you think of this upcoming girl’s release.

Earlier this month Sneaker News gave you a look at two upcoming colorways of the Nike Air Classic BW that had a very ‘original colorway’ mood about them. This Black/Green pair shares similar color-blocking to the most recognizable Persian Violet colorway. This black/green pair features the same black upper with white contrast stripe but the heel is black instead of white (like the OG Persian Violet. Green trim can bout found on the ankle collar padding as well as the midsole trim, while the swoosh is a light grey. Being close enough to the original style should make these a popular choice as these are an October 2010 release, but these just dropped at Titolo in Switzerland; take an extra look at this upcoming release after the jump and let us know what you think of the colorway.

In its 20th anniversary year, the Nike Air Max 90 has seen a wide range of colorways. We got a faithful retro of the immortal Infrared colorway and the OG Laser Blues are on the way soon, so how about another vintage colorway? These are among the best Nineties you’ll find, but unfortunately for those with larger feet, these joints are a WMNS release, with the biggest size 12 equating to a US men’s 10.5. Availability concerns aside, this mix of white, grey, Asian Concord and Laser Pink is all at once similar to the OG Air 180 and its own unique palette, and they’re available now from NikeStore.

Last week Sneaker News showed you a sample pair of the upcoming Nike Air PR1, a life-style shoe that featured a hybrid between the Nike Air Pressure upper and the midsole of the Air Jordan III. The Air Pressure originally released in 1989 and came housed in an oversized box, and returns in sleeker, slimmed down form. The original version featured a pump accessory on the heel, allowing the shoe to inflate – but the shoe itself was extremely heavy. That apparatus has been removed and the lace-placket also features a simpler construction as well. Remaining is the rubberized strap, which can be pivoted backwards for those who don’t wish to use it. This new colorway features a tonal black upper and midsole and just hit EastBay for pre-order, with a ship date this Friday, September 24th, so take another look after the jump and expect these at Nike Sportswear accounts soon.

After a whirlwind of LeBron-related free-agency news and shoe previews, the buzz around LeBron James seems to have quieted down; the only thing left to do at this point is to twiddle our thumbs and wait for the Akron native to make his debut in South Beach. For the fans who have stayed loyal to LeBron or have embraced his arrival in Miami, we now have concrete release dates for the Nike Air Max LeBron VIII; the Black/White-Varsity Red, All-Black, USA, and a Varsity Royal/Total Orange-White colorway are all confirmed for late October and early November. While the first three colorways have been previewed before, the last mentioned colorway of royal/orange/white has yet to surface. LeBron is no longer a Cavalier so it being a Hardwood Classic colorway doesn’t match up, and it surely isn’t a Knicks colorway. Continue reading for a complete list of release dates for these four colorways and let us know which pair you have your eye on. via NikeLeBron.
