Were it not for the Charlotte Hornets, we’d most likely look back on the Orlando Magic’s as *the* early ’90s NBA jersey. An ultrabrite blue was paired in high-contrast with black, with the logo and uniforms featuring a whimsical typeface that’s been gone for years. And with the old Amway Center in O-Town also gone, it’s time to open the new O-rena, and there’s plenty of vintage Shaq-n-Penny stuff on display. Perhaps the most intriguing artifact from the early days of Magic basketball very well might be this unique Nike Air Foamposite One Penny Hardaway PE. The story goes that Anfernee himself asked that Nike do the Neon Royal Foam Ones with black stripes along the deeper ‘vents’, as per a league mandate. Striped Foamposites to match a uniform with pinstripes, perhaps, but they’re a wacky sight to behold either way. Check out more after the jump and let us know how these stack up to the single-colored Foamposite One/Pro releases. via MN
