John Varvatos is that rare fashion designer who’s got enough high-end cache to lend to brands like Target and Converse, yet mainstream enough to be co-opted into the plot of the recent HBO series How to Make it in America. And even if a second season of How to Make It seems super unlikely if ill-advised, Varvatos is back tag-teaming with the One Star on some of his craziest Cons yet. The John Varvatos x Converse Chuck Taylor Multi Eye Ox and Vintage Slip are both done in distressed snakeskin, with the former adding tons of teeny-tiny eyelets and crazy-long elastic shoelaces, while the later goes for a more traditional flat waxed cotton. Check out more shots of these after the jump and look for them at US Converse retailers soon; StreeThing reports they’re out already in SE Asia.

snakeskin on anything is tacky imo, but on a chuck it seems to work wonderfully. i like the green and the slip-ons

The green ones are the best of the lot.
