The Doernbecher x Nike Freestyle Collection is now in its seventh installment and like the previous collections, the highlight is certainly on the Air Jordan design. When Sneaker News first broke the news about the Air Jordan III being the model of choice for the Doernbecher Freestyle VII, many sneakerheads were excited at the possibilities. Given the eccentric nature of the colors and graphics used on the previous Doernbecher x Air Jordan releases, the possibilities were endless. Cole Johanson, the 11-year-old athlete and food-lover who was given the Air Jordan III as his assignment, came up with a unique design that still maintained that Air Jordan flare, as Cole used a tonal red upper and elephant print with a black and metallic silver mudguard. What took Cole’s design to the next level was his selection of a translucent ‘ice’ sole with red contrast stitching as well as a unique lasered graphic on the upper. The tongue and heel feature a black base with silver branding, and red-on-red elephant print is definitely a nice twist on the classic Air Jordan III trademark. i know last collection was on nike.com, but it was sold out so damn quick, i dont think there was a rating for the speed at which they sold.

too much red on red here, if the upper were a different color id consider it. The clear sole is def something I wanna see on more IIIs though

Jumpman says $125 but it isn't always correct. There are rumors that the price will be $160, which makes sense considering the upcoming white/cement III willl also be $130.

Im coppin. I was a lil shook after the release date was pushed back to december 11th. but when they changed the retail from 125 to 160 it kinda made me mad. 3's for only 125 would of been so sweet. but i kinda knew it was to good to happen. but overall i like em. i got the DB 6's from last year still on ice. and these are next up on my list.

I think the designers from Nike could've given a little better advice. I agree, too many shades of red goin on. Some one needs to explain the pattern on the upper. I would cop if I had the money b/c I still think you can wear it with some things but, I would first get my hands on the AF1's the other kid did from this collection. Some one made the comment earlier about people might think they're fake, I think that says something about the colorway…. Just a thought.

The repeat patter that is lasered on the upper says "Cole" look at the negative spaces in between the letters…its an optical illusion. Great detail. If you do not like something just avoid talking about it. Because from a psychology standpoint those who often hate ultimately have ravaged by a deep seeded need to gain attention. My advice would be to get a mentor or a pen pal or better yet a hug because at the end of the day it is just shoes. Spend your time debating over the state of the economy or how children are being sold into slavery in some countries. Leave the shoe blogs as a safe escape from reality where we can all relive our childhoods through the footwear that is created.
